Oh wow @ginandtonicformeplease so so happy for you! Fingers crossed all goes smoothly here on. I love seeing BFPs on the thread!

@viletta sorry to hear confirmed it didn’t work this time. If my experience is anything to go by, cycles can really vary so fingers crossed you can scrape funds for another cycle. On the last thread I was on quite a few of the posters were going abroad as it was cheaper. It’s too logistically tricky for me to do that.

Next scan today and follicles are only growing very slowly and my womb lining has actually gone down!!! I asked the nurse if she thought this cycle would be cancelled and she said she doesn’t think so, just ec now possibly next fri instead of next mon. I will be a whale by the time I finally come off stims! Wondering if I should have left it a month longer before trying since last time. Paperwork did advise this but I asked to go sooner due to age.

Maiarindell1 · 13/07/2018 17:20

Congratulations @ginandtonicformeplease that is great news!! So good to hear of positive stories

@lopeylopez and @viletta Sorry to hear this cycle hasn’t worked. It’s such bloody hard work but hope you both get another shot soon.

I’ve had my day 6 stim scan today, 4 follicles at 10mm and a few others that were less than 6mm. They are upping my gonal f from 375 to 450 - really hoping the little ones catch up so I have more than 4 for EC.

@happyhedgehog247 I hope your follicles grow over the weekend too! How is your stimms going? @tigerlily99

LopeyLopez · 13/07/2018 22:36

Many congratulations @ginandtonicformeplease on your bfp! Thank goodness for some happy news!

Sorry your cycle went the same way as mine @Viletta . Best of luck for next time xxx

Viletta · 13/07/2018 22:45

Guys who ever had failed cycles before, how did your first AF felt? I called the clinic, they said keep cyclogest and re-test on Sunday. I do bleed unusually heavy and it’s really painful (sharp pain in the uterus not on the side). Blood is bright red and lots of it.. I hope it’s not ectopian .. probably cyclogest won’t let things go completely out? Not sure.. how your AF felt?
@LopeyLopez how are you feeling cycle boddy?

LopeyLopez · 14/07/2018 06:41

@viletta I was expecting a heavier or more painful period, but it has not been the case for me. No pain and fairly light. My periods are always really light and short. I think it's totally individual, even after this.

I have stopped the cyclogest even though test date is not til Monday because I am 100% sure I am not pregnant, so there is no progesterone support needed, and I just want to get my cycle back to normal ASAP.

I temp and the progesterone is keeping my bbt artificially high....want to get it back down so I can see if I ovulate as normal this month, or if the beds are still messing things up.

Beherenow32 · 14/07/2018 07:28

@viletta @LopeyLopez I’m so sorry ☹️ There’s just no way of knowing what makes this work, and why sometimes it doesn’t! Look after yourselves, keep your strength up.

My period after failed cycles was very heavy (mine are usually lighter). But I don’t think it was overly painful @Viletta it always came on test day, and cycles came back to normal quite quick (think I was a week late on the first one). Really hoping you’re both ok.

@ginandtonicformeplease congrats!! Hope you’re feeling calm. I’m still symptom spotting 😐 all the best for the future! Xx

HappyHedgehog247 · 14/07/2018 08:04

@Villeta my first period at end of cycle was a bit heavier but was not painful in that way. Hope you’re feeling a bit better today x

tikha · 14/07/2018 14:44

@Villeta @LopeyLopez its just hard but am glad you are already considering another cycle. the cost is an issue thought.. at the moment, i am 50% funded by insurance so will see how it goes. am still waiting for PGS results btw..

@ginandtonicformeplease congrats on the BFP..

tikha · 15/07/2018 06:38

so anyway only one out of three was normal embryo. Feeling thankful.

cannonball8726 · 15/07/2018 16:31

Ah you got your results quickly, @tikha. How long do you have to wait before transfer?

Day 10 of stims for me today. Had scan and bloods this morning - both okay and continuing same doses. Feeling little uncomfortable but overall okay! Sticking to the high protein diet but goodness knows if it really makes much of a difference at this stage. Bring on EC this week...

How is everyone else doing?

LopeyLopez · 15/07/2018 17:27

@tikha that's good; good luck for transfer.

@cannonball8726 well done so far; keep up the good work!

I am concentrating on improving egg quality for cycle two, which I'm thinking maybe October...? To give me a bit of time to boost those eggs, and for my body to recover from all the drugs (I feel fine but at a hormonal level, you never know....)

I've seen lots of women talking about "the 90 day egg cycle" so I am working on that!

Beherenow32 · 15/07/2018 18:12

@LopeyLopez I read a book, which I really liked. “How to cope with IVF” by Silvia Dunn. She talks about the vitamins needed, what they do and which foods to get them from.
She also gives recipes... even homemade hair masks etc when treatment is making your body suffer a little. I liked that one so much more than it starts with the egg!
All the best xx

LopeyLopez · 15/07/2018 20:52

@Beherenow32 thanks for the recommendation. I will have a look.... I do have "it starts with the egg" but have to say I skimmed over some bits out of boredom (!).....also I find it almost impossible to follow all her advice....like not storing food in plastic containers (don't we all do that?!), and not drinking out of plastic bottles....

I like the idea of the hair mask. In the tww I did things like face masks, waxing, pedicure, fake tan....to give my body a bit of a treat. And maybe make me look better on the outside than I felt inside!!

HJ82 · 15/07/2018 22:17

@cannonball8726 I triggered tonight. I wanted to stim for a couple more days as a few follies are trailing behind not by much though. My LH is starting to rise so they thought best to trigger today. Hopefully the slower ones come through by Tuesday (although may not have a mature egg I wouldn't think) just hoping I don't ovulate! Confused

@HappyHedgehog247 where are you at today?

HJ82 · 15/07/2018 22:20

@LopeyLopez I've been bpa free for a few years. It's easy to buy bpa free containers and tins and bottles. Most store bought water doesn't come in bpa plastic anyway. But canned goods are the worst. I didn't do it for fertility, just general health. Smile

HappyHedgehog247 · 15/07/2018 22:21

Hi @HJ82 that’s exciting to have triggered!! I am slowwwww this cycle! Next scan tomorrow but don’t think EC will be until end of week. I realised today I’d picked up the wrong packet of steroids, 1mg not 5mg, I think this has been the reason for my extreme fatigue and will have impacted on growth. So I took 5mg today and will see what the scan tomorrow says.

cannonball8726 · 16/07/2018 15:10

Well done on doing the trigger, @HJ82! Was it hard? How are you feeling? Best of luck for EC tomorrow!

@happyhedgehog how was the scan?

I'm Day 11 of stims and feeling shattered again at work today! Abdomen also bit uncomfortable. Have gone up a notch on my belt... scan again tomorrow and wonder if I'll be triggering tomorrow evening. To be continued!

Hope you're doing okay @lopeylopez and @beherenow32 x

HJ82 · 16/07/2018 15:20

@cannonball8726 nah it's the same as a regular injection (was for me anyway). I've found this whole experience very easy tbh. I mean, so far! crossing fingers it goes well for the next 3 weeks!

@HappyHedgehog247 steroids? I was slow too but it picked up quickly. All between 17-20mm and hoping those 15-16mm ones have grown since trigger.

Funniest thing though, I'm at work and have to walk around like I'm sneaking up on someone. I feel like twinkle toes. I must look so silly. I said I had a sore back Wink gentle soft steps are very necessary!!

Maiarindell1 · 16/07/2018 15:59

@cannonball8726 I’m on day 8 of stimms now and starting to feel pretty knackered now.

I had a scan today and have gone from 4 follicles to 3 :-( - think I’ll be having EC on Friday. Apparently I have to have a 3 day transfer as I’ve got so few eggs-has anyone had this before?

HappyHedgehog247 · 16/07/2018 18:41

@Maraindell1 I had a 3 day transfer last time because the main point of waiting to 5 days is to select between eggs. I only had 2 still going strong by day 3 so had them both put back (in line with NICE guidelines for my age). My consultant said the best place for embryos is inside you rather than a test tube so don’t get disheartened. A friend who told me about the ivf process had her DD from a day 3 transfer.

@cannonball good luck with final scan tomorrow and keep us posted re trigger!

@tikha I’m glad you got one good embryo and fingers very crossed. My hospital doesn’t offer PGS. I wish it did.

Scan today showed my slow growing follies are still growing! A 5th scan on Weds with egg collection likely to be Fri! Fingers crossed, I am being even more realistic about my chances given the slow growth and lower number of follicles.

Maiarindell1 · 16/07/2018 21:07

Thank you @happyhedgehog247, that makes sense re 3 days vs 5. Looks like we will both have EC on Friday then! Are you looking at a 3 day transfer again this time?

LopeyLopez · 16/07/2018 22:17

@HJ82 thank you for the info regarding bpa. It got me thinking about it and I was reading all about the different types of plastic on my commute today! Turns out most of our food containers are ok (bpa free), though it's now thought that all plastics leach to some extent. I rarely eat canned foods anyway (did not know that they were bpa lined....thanks!); maybe a tin of tomatoes and chickpeas once a week in cooking. I found two jugs that were the dreaded plastic no. 7 mark in the kitchen! Shall be replacing those....

I am thinking of going all-out for this next round of ivf as really, why not? I'm spending so much money. And today I realised that I am probably the healthiest I have been in terms of lifestyle and diet in my whole life atm!! Which is really saying something. So even if I am not successful in the fertility stakes, I am doing my health in general a massive favour. I definitely have more energy since giving up booze and caffeine. My skin in looking better. Can't be a bad thing!

Good luck for egg collection those with it coming up soon x

Tigerlily99 · 17/07/2018 00:05

Looks like it’s all go for the end of the week!

@HJ82 good luck for EC, is it tomorrow?

@happyhedgehog and @maiarindell- good luck for EC Fri! @cannonball will you be having EC Thurs?

Am having scan on Fri. Hoping I will be ready to plan for ET next week if all good with lining. If all ok then looks like we will all be having ET at similar times give or take a few days. I’m so ready to stop buserelin on Fri!!

Our beta is Friday morning. I crumbled yesterday & took a digital test, said not pregnant, spoze least it means the hcg shot is out of my system. My boobs are aching still. This wait is horrendous, hoping at least one wee embie stuck
🙌🙌🙌

HJ82 · 17/07/2018 10:08

@Tigerlily99 it's in 15 mins.
@cannonball8726 spoke too soon, pretty uncomfortable now!!
