I’m a bit nervous, just because I don’t know what to expect. I’m probably most worried about being sedated in case I react badly to it. I’m off work for two days so hoping that’s all the recovery time I need.

Good luck for your scans tomorrow ladies. Hope you get good news on the follicle front and that they’re growing. Smile

Peekaboo81 · 24/01/2018 12:00

Hi ladies just taken my second antagonist injection cetrotide. Its quite fiddly to get all the liquid out the vial into the syringe and does sting a bit after taking the needle out, but other than that I feeling normal no side affects. I'm trying to drink lots of water so this maybe be helping me stay well so I recommend this. It's annoying taking both injections bemfola and cetrotide in my abdomen but not sure if the thigh is as effective? Looking forward to my 1st scan on Friday. Fingers crossed and baby dust you all Smile

Hi ladies! I had my scan today. For some reason last night I couldn't sleep and today I feel really tired and down. They said everything looks well I have 6 follicle on right measuring 14 and 6 on left between 12 and 14.is confusing because last time they said I had 8 on right and 10 on left, maybe today they told just the bigger ones ,I don't know. They said blood test were ok last time and they won't change the dosage.Er will be Monday or Wednesday depending on the Friday scan. I hope everything goes well for all of you! Hugs

Hi @Aly82 I wonder if they concentrated on the bigger ones as the rest haven’t grown the same? I’m not sure. But that sounds like you have a good amount and any little ones might catch up.

We’re back from the clinic. Egg collection went really well. I got 19 eggs in the end so we got quite a haul. Grin

I’m not long up after sleeping all afternoon to recover from the sedation, but otherwise feeling fine. The bloating is away and I don’t have that slightly uncomfortable feeling when I’m sitting now. That said it might be short lived as I now have pessaries that I need to start taking tonight Blush

Excited to see how many they can fertilise now. Eep!

FabulousTumbleweed · 24/01/2018 15:52

Hi @Peekaboo81 I stuck to my stomach too as I wasn’t sure about injecting into my thighs either and it felt easier to go with stomach. I had two injections a day and tried to alternate what side to use but ended up forgetting and just sticking it in anywhere.

Aly82 · 24/01/2018 17:15

Hi,FabulousTumbleweed what about the er. Can you tell us more about it? Did you feel sick when you wake up? Sorry I think I'm getting a bit nervous about ER.

Hi Everyone - looks like its been a busy day!

@peekaboo I’ve stuck to the stomach, I do the two injections on one side so theres been a day off before I go back to that side.

So glad it went well today @fabuloustumbleweed - I was thinking of you this morning. 19 eggs is fab! Fingers crossed for good fertilisation Smile

I’m quite similar to you @aly82 - egg collection likely on Monday, provided they’re happy with scan on Friday.

My scan went well - 15 follicles, most of them 14-16 and they said that they are growing nice and evenly. Lining is now 10.5. I feel so full though and broken sleep, feel
like another 4 days of stims is going to be hard!

FabulousTumbleweed · 24/01/2018 18:00

Hi Aly, it was fairly straightforward but a little bit painful. I was given strong painkillers/sedatives to make me really drowsy. My DH went down and did his part Grin and then he came into the treatment room with me. They worked the internal ultrasound scanner and then put a needle up to recover the follicles. I could feel the needle and it was uncomfortable and a little sore at times but I was told this was because they were up there a long time as I had so many follicles to collect. While the doc did this any successful collections were passed immediately to the lab by a nurse. Another nurse was monitoring blood pressure etc. It took about 20 mins I think (was a bit out of it). I was then taken back to the day ward to recover. Took about two and a half hours in total. I’m still a little tired now and I have a tiny bit of spotting which was to be expected but otherwise fine.

HelloMist · 24/01/2018 22:15

I had a good baseline scan yesterday (good numbers of follicles and thin lining) but can't start stims until Friday - I'm impatient to move onto the next stage! I've had weird period type pains today but already had a bleed so not sure what those were, all OK yesterday so hoping it's nothing.

My most recent egg collection was fine - the sedatives/local anaesthetic did the trick and it was only uncomfortable. I was quite woozy and not fully aware of it all. The one I had years ago was quite painful but I think my clinic have improved their pain relief plan since then. Smile I'm a bit nervous for it this time still because I was quite ill after it last time but I think I was just unlucky, getting a bug right as I was recovering from it.

hoping2018 · 25/01/2018 12:20

Hi all, glad everyone is progressing well. 19 eggs sounds amazing!! I've started stims - hoping the hot flushes and mood swings will settle down as I've been an exhausted mess for the last 3 weeks! Keep us updated all - it really helps hearing other people going through the same thing and thank you for the description of EC - makes me less nervous!

FabulousTumbleweed · 25/01/2018 13:52

Afternoon all

Just a quick update here. 13 of my eggs fertilised. So now I have to sit and wait to see which ones go the distance.

Once all the EC painkillers wore off I was pretty sore last night. Still a bit sore today but nothing too bad. Totally knackered though. Could sleep the day away if I let myself.

Sjh84 · 25/01/2018 20:15

Hope you’re feeling a bit better this evening fabuloustumbleweed - that’s great 13 eggs fertilised, it must be hard waiting for the news of their progress, I know I’m going to find that part difficult.

Glad you’re now on stims hoping - fingers crossed it will help with the flushes.

Good luck for starting stims tomorrow hellomist!

HelloMist · 25/01/2018 20:39

13 is great. More than I've had both times (9 and 3). Fingers crossed several continue to progress. Glad you're getting over the soreness.

Thank you sjh!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow, Peekaboo

Is everyone storing gonal F in the fridge after opening? I think the drug leaflet says it can be in or out of the fridge once opened (keeps 28 days at

Peekaboo81 · 25/01/2018 20:46

Hi everyone, hello mist: thanks fingerscrossed, hope everyone's scan goes well. I keep the bemfola in the fridge and the cetrotide in a cupboard. I will update you on my 1st scan results tomorrow. Fab news tumbleweed 13 is amazing, babydust to you hope the ET goes well x

hoping2018 · 25/01/2018 21:34

@HelloMist mine says keep in the fridge. I'm nhs this cycle but how much of a saving did you make? (I'm anticipating I'll pay for a cycle at some point!!)

13 sounds amazing!! Fingers crossed

HelloMist · 25/01/2018 21:54

Thanks both.

@hoping2018 It was £100 less for one 900 iu pen (about 30% cheaper). They need some notice to get it in though and I'm not right by an Asda so it might not be possible the times I have a scan and want a new pen that night (unless I gamble and order ahead - have to pay when you order it). I also needed a signed private prescription which I had to wait for after my scan (all the consultants were busy). Other places do the drugs too but Asda do it at cost price without VAT so are one of the cheapest. I didn't try for buserelin as it's relatively cheap but knew gonal F was a lot more.

hoping2018 · 25/01/2018 22:37

Thanks @HelloMist interesting to hear. All sounds stressful thought! X

HelloMist · 25/01/2018 22:46

It was a bit but so are the mounting costs now we're not NHS any more :( I will know slightly better what I need to do next time. And the pharmacist was helpful.

Peekaboo81 · 26/01/2018 14:39

So update on my first scan day7 of stimulating : only 1 follicle 15 mm others too small to consider and I also have developed a small cyst😢 nurse said by now should have had 4/5 follicles of decent size so not looking good. Have had blood test to measure estrogen and will go back for another scan on Monday if no improvement will have to abandon cycle. Feel like shit, why is this so hard.

Aly82 · 26/01/2018 15:22

Hi all.i had my scan today. They said my linen is ok I had 3 follicles between 17.8_ 19 .and 4 between 14-16 on right side and 1 follicle of 20, 2 of 18, 4 between 14- 16 on left side. I took a blood test to and they said depending on results and on what doctor said they will call me later to say if I will have ER Monday or Wednesday.
