Anyone due to ivf in January!!

Hello! I just booked all my appointments for January and my meds should arrive on Friday.i was wondering if there is someone else that will have ivf in January so we can share our experiences? Thank you!!

Hi ladies- can I join you all? I started IVF in Jan-TTC #1 for 2.5 years and counting!

Had my EC on Wednesday- amazingly we’ve got 10 embryos which are going strong (but keeping our fingers crossed!)- clinic wants to transfer on Monday but pretty sure when I go in they will force us to delay as I’ve been super bloated since EC and they were worried about me getting OHSS . I was hoping it was just a normal side effect after EC but most people on here seem to be fine so doesn’t look good!

Anyways- good luck to everyone on here- it will be nice to have some ladies to chat with- can’t believe I’ve held out this long!!!!

@hoping2018 don’t worry I am in the unusual camp too having hypothalamic amenorrhea and polycystic ovaries but they don’t understand why! It also means I respond really differently to drugs too and I guess only due to having had multiple previous iui cycles found out what levels I needed so hopefully this follow up is really positive for you as they might have decided that you need a slightly different protocol this time. My follow up isn’t until March 9th but I’m going to ask to do a FET as soon as I can( which I think is end April). I felt a lot better when I came off the progesterone although maybe because I was on oestrogen too I’ve just gained more!!! Never mind let’s hope later this year we will both not be able to do our jeans up for a much better reason!!

Hi babydust thankyou , im feeling a bit better now still bloated. Felt sore and bruised yesterday had cramping over night and early hours. Seems to have eased off now .

Hope tommmorow goes ok for otd though i know the clinic have agreed treatment didnt work. Very tough having to test just to confirm a negative

Hopefully once test dates passed you will feel better with out it looming up iyswim. Plus you can finish prostegene. Hope your follow up goes ok and gives you some clarification on whats happend.
I hope when you wedding comes around things might feel a little better and you manage to have a good time though i know weddings can be tough for us ttc. Take care of yourself

I just joined the thread on friday also a long time lurker. I also started ivf Jan and ttc#1. its my first round and only funded round on nhs.

I had my. E.c on Friday and got 8 eggs got the call to confirm 6 fertilzed yesterday. They are aiming for Wenesday so 5 day transfer , same as you.

I am also feeling bloated and been feeling discomfort started to get worried i might develop ohss. But then thought doubtful as i didnt have lots of follicles and they only got 8 eggs ( i know its quality over quantity though and 8 is good). Also i think there would be ovary discomfort or pain?
Had cramping which has gone left with discomfort.

@herewegoagain18 hi. My 2 ww is nearly finished! I get a blood test on Tuesday. 😱 I am sooo nervous! I have been very emotional the last couple of days. Freaking out if I feel things and then freaking out if I don’t. Would like to do an early test at home, but husband isn’t so keen on that idea, incase it’s too early.

How are you feeling? 6 is a brilliant number. You shouldn’t worry about that. X

Hi beherenow ooohh scary times but exciting! I know what your husband means it might be too early and you get disheartned and think its not worked get and stressed and upset. And it may have done.

Or you could think it has but not showing and have that hope for a couple more days till blood test. Its so tricky only you can know if its best to test early or wait?.

Thankyou ,dont get me wrong im overjoyed at the 6 i did not expect that nunber at all from my 8. I just mean i would think i wouldnt get ohss with 8 eggs its if i went into double figures that could be more plausible but who knows? Hopefully its just discomfort as i was sedated and could feel everything and it settles soon.

@herewegoagain18 thank you! The hospital were worried about me having OHSS, as I had a high level of oestrogen in my blood. My ec was brought forward, even though there wasn’t too many big follicles. It was strange, and very rushed.

Hopefully I don’t spend too much time on mumsnet/ Internet tomorrow 😉😉

Thats what happend to me beherenow they moved my e.c forward too by at least 3 days. Not because they thought i had ohss but didnt want the follicles to get too big.

I initally started off on 150 on gonal-f
And when i went to first monitoring scan there were only 6 follicles 2 growing and 4 smalls in one ovary none in the other.

I dont want to say i felt disheartened but did worry and thought id have to hope that things improved and they grew in time for last monitoring scan at end of the week. They got me to increase gonal f

Went back two days later for monitoring scan and the follicles had gone from 6&7s to 16-19 ! So a big jump. They cancelled the last monitoring scan and it moved e.c up to two days later. It was a rush and i didnt feel ready. But now im pleased they did move it .

Yes maybe to try and have a break from mumsnet tommorow and things ivf related . try to keep your mind off testing ,your almost there !

herewegoagain and beherenow you both sound very similar to me! They also moved my EC forward by three days- I was happy because I was pretty uncomfortable but didn’t realise how much worse I’d feel after!!! Going in today for my transfer but not holding out hope it will happen- still super bloated and the clinic told me they have a very low tolerance for potential OHSS so I think they’ll be reluctant to put anything in there (I’m also pretty high risk as they collected 21 eggs to start with...)

Fingers crossed for you herewegoagain though!!!!!!! Not long to go! And you’re 100% right- it’s quality over quantity and you’ve got plenty

Ah thankyou im really worried they are going to call me in. Cramping started again late last night woke up this morning in discomfort again.

It is snowing where i am! I usally love the snow but really could do without it this week!

Its odd the similaritys between us .

Oh i really hope they can do the transfer you cant have it later can you as its already 5 days? How are you feeling today ?

herewegoagain oh no you poor thing- I hope you feel better soon! I think they forget to tell us quite how invasive (and odd!) the EC is for our bodies- it can’t be good to have needles poking around in there, popping sacks and picking out eggs! honestly the joys of IVF...!

Well clinic just called me- 6 have made it to blastocyst stage so they want to transfer today. I feel ok but still bloated (much less than a few days ago)- I’m secretly hoping that is the result of the new range of meds I’m on since EC... we’re going in this afternoon so we’ll just have to see! I desparately want to go ahead and just plough-on but also don’t want to get really ill- so will have to take their advice either way!

They called me in for transfer today instead of Wenesday. They said two are standing out as the best and think its safer to transfer today. Did really hope to get to a day 5 but no gurantees there would be a blastocyst so taking there advise

I’m getting quite a bit of pain today. A burning in my lower back. No idea what it means. But so nervous for results tomorrow xx

Oh and yes lets hope its the meds causing the bloating im taking crinione gel and antibiotics.could they be causing the cramps/discomfort?

Oh no beherenow sorry to hear your not feeling good. Hoping that burning is the result of a good thing? Can you contact them to ask what could be causing it?

Hope your transfers went well peanuts and herewegoagain - good luck for your 2WW. I found that my bloating has largely remained since EC and I doubt it will go now I’m pg so try not to worry about it too much. I think thr progesterone causes a lot of it!

They transferd two Embryos which were 6 cells so above average (graded AA i think or A*)

I think your right they did say the crinone gel can cause some effects like bloating discomfort cramps constipation . oh the joys!

As you say it dosn't run to plan with ivf. Now its been done im pleased ,can relax now no more trips to hospital or waiting for a phone call with baited breath. Just the next stage of the ttw!

herewegoagain that sounds like a great transfer! I had mine too- had almost convinced myself they weren’t going to do it so was really surprised when they did! Just the one for us.

Im feeling ok herewegoagain - I’m nauseoys and tired but remind myself to be grateful they are good signs! The progesterone affects my stomach and gives me diahorrea so I’ll be glad when I’ve finished them, not sure how long I’ll be on them for though?

Glad your ok hope the naseau eases soon as you say its a good sign, though not fun! I have started to have things go the opposite way to constipation too now with crinone gel.

I was wondering the same myself about how long the prostegene needs to be taken for ?
i know where i have been treated you take it for the the tww wait then test then all going well continue taking it. I have enough to last me the tww then two weeks following test. Dont know if they have not mentioned any further so as not to raise hopes?
