IVF buddies September /October continued, heading into November & wearing VERY comfy stretchy leggings & trousers (perfect for Xmas too!!)

Whatwot Yes we are lucky we have 6 frozen so looking to start our first FET in Jan. I am down in the south we go to Nuffield hospital in woking the staff are amazing and so lovely. But not sure I can help on the clinic side of things.

It seems like a lot of the ladies on here are up north they might be able to help?

star Thank you you are right this time I am preparing for everything, I will try as much to relax and meditate, chill focus on the positive and enjoy myself at the same time. I've just read an article about ladies with cold hands and feet suffer from "cold uterus" and so stocking up on soups and wearing thick socks will be me from now on!! LOL ..I wonder if my acupuncturist will recommend anything. xx

Dbear you are most welcome, nurture yourself, embrace this journey starting from today . I am not sure it will help or not but from my training days cold feet/hands is to do with blood circulation. I guess there are lots of school of believes, but that's what I was taught and from my findings it does seem to be the case. If cold feel putting your legs up against the wall for 10 minutes will aid for the leg circulation. For your hands, clap about 20 times and see how you feel.

I just went to the toilets at work and looked at my belly and OMG I have ballooned !!!! lol lol I was talking to a friend about how I feel, namely - tired, lower back pain and side, legs heavy and she said are you sure you aren't pregnant? She is such a joker! anyway, all this to tell you I wonder how my follicles are tomorrow because this is getting a bit much!

Fertility reflexology tonight and a bit of Yoga should help.

Whatwot we are in Newcastle, and go to the QE in Gateshead. Apart from the hopeless nurse I spoke to yesterday, and the fact they don't offer you a cup of tea (!), we have been impressed with the clinic.

As my OH has children from a previous marriage we don't qualify for any NHS help so we have paid privately (even though it is a NHS clinic). I can't remember exactly how much it all was... I think it was about £5,400 for ICSI and then another £600 for drugs. I have blocked the exact amount out of my mind as it was slightly eye watering! But I can double check and let you know if helpful.

If you have an frozen embryos, it is cheaper. i think it's about £1000 for embryo transfer if you already have some and don't need to do the full cycle again.

The one clinic we have been strongly advised NOT to go to is the Centre for Life. Apparently they don't have such a good success rate, the staff aren't very kind, and it feels like a production line. We avoided it for those reasons..

How did the meet up with your friend go?

star will be thinking of you tomorrow and your follies! I remember i was super bloated on stims and on my second Scan I felt like my overies were going to burst! 💥

Acupuncture was pretty good 1.5 hrs flew by and although I became emotional it was cleansing I definitely need to talk about my feelings more and I’m going to try to write them all down it can only help right! Relefxology ! Not sure I can afford that as well as the acupuncture maybe I need to teach my DH how to do it? 😂

Hello all, sorry I have been AWOL since my first message I have been all over the place since my last message and finding out about the IVF; to say I had my head in the sand is an understatement.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. It means so much that I know you all want to listen to me. Or read as it is!

I had to go and see a friend who has been trying less than 2 years since me. She managed to get pregnant after 3 years of trying but lost her baby due to Edwards syndrome and he only lived for 2 hours. She has been going through a lot ofcourse and I was only going to tell her the news about my IVF if she asked me but she didn’t and I felt I could not tell her when I saw her as I didn’t want to make it all about me. Also she got pregnant naturally so it is not connected.

It was a very hard afternoon and I am so sad right now.

I hope you are all ok. I hope you are feeling better than I am right now.

Hi all,

So the nurse had the anaesthetist take my blood test (I told her the story and she did not want to try), he spoke fluent French and OMG he is pleasant to the eye , ok let me focus here, gosh I am hot! Lol lol Anyway the Nurse Manager did the scan first and could not find the right ovary, so she called the Consultant who found it. So basically I have 1x 23mm, 1x 21mm, 1x 19mm, 2x 16mm and the rest are small like 11mm/9mm (3more). He could only see 2 follies on the right and said there are probably more as he saw more on my first scan (5) but did not want to press more than he did. His first reaction as, Egg Collection on Friday. Then I challenged him and he said “let’s look at the blood test and we will call you this afternoon, but I am leaning towards Friday because you are 3 mature one and if we wait they might be post mature and we can’t do anything with them”. He believes with my last shot tonight (and it is the highest does) we will have a few. So the EG is Friday or Monday (OMG!! The Anaesthetist will be the man putting me under so I feel a bit calmer about the EG . What? A bit on distraction helps! . I am joking! He is very nice, but my Love is the best thing that happened to me . Oh and on Monday my lining was 7.5mm and today 9mm – and apparently it is good! So not bad for an old Owl hey? I am a bit nervous, BUT I am fully ready for the EG. I guess once I am under they will be able to press more, which means after my EG I will be feeling AMAZING NOT!!! Anyway, one thing at a time. I am interested to know what you think from your experience ladies?

Dbear lol come over I will do your nails any time. My date went ok, thank you. Bottle of wine through whole evening (over 5 hours) and I feel absolutely dead this morning. Definitely getting old. But as everyone was saying-while we waiting for our transfer, might as well make the most of it.

Star I feel so bad this morning that texted my friend from now on we drinking coffee 😅 have another friend coming over Friday for mulled wine..I can’t do this anymore 😆 in my whole life only once (as a teenager) I got really drunk. This days is am just a lightweight.

Star u was faster than me 😅 I am feeling 🤕🤕 but so happy can’t stay home. For years even after biggest party was waking up 5.30 and going to work.
Well sounds like it well might be Friday. When mine were 21 or so I was panicking last days “what if I ovulate early”. Bcoz it’s long way till Monday. But surely they know best. And lol I am sure he is the love of your life but nothing wrong with enjoying the view when u can 😁😁😁
I didn’t feel much pain after EC, maybe for a day moved little slow. Just was fainting a lot 😁

ella welcome back, it’s rubbish when you have bad news and the whole process with IVF is daunting, overwhelming, stressful & can put huge pressure on you & your OH but it’s great support here, u can cry, rant & ask questions. As well as understand the weird things your body does. But sometimes it can lead to great things, my self & my best friend who is a surrogate for my & my DH got a positive test yesterday on our first go, which is amazing, so take hope from that 💕😍. What’s your plan?

I feel less sick today but still going to the loo a lot & horrible leg cramps so dogs won’t be walking far today & will try eating something, I went to the doctors & they thought it might be notovirus! What a day to be so ill!!!

They gonna ring me abt 11:30 to say how the embryo nd 1:45 a must b der so a guess they will tell me to wear dis funny clothes nd start drink water, still dnt know how much shall a drink nd for hw long BT ano a won't defo not start drink in car lol
