Star I had bemfola (which says substitute for gonal and menopur) and then cetrotide. First one was in the leg in the evening 45 and cetrotide in the tummy 90 in the morning, think day 6 too

Star I think yours is like mine was! I definitely had GonalF & Menopur but nothing in the morning. But mine was all geared towards freezing eggs so don’t know if that made a difference?

Harry how are u?

Shattered is to be expected isn’t it Harry? She says, no experience whatsoever other than all friends having been pregnant & saying that!!

Plus it’s cold & miserable outside which doesn’t help!!

Did you have your scan yet? At mothercare to see if both embryos took? Ooo do tell?! How would you feel about twins?!

I’m good, keeping busy now though basically DH has banned all talk of embryo which is crap. My friend & I were joking over WhatsApp earlier so we can talk about it but he just doesn’t want to think about it which is pretty unfair as it’s the biggest thing in our lives!! Oh well. Each of us has our own way of coping.

Yes that’s true, a very good point Harry, you may have argued me into agreeing to go at 7 weeks! But I’d prob still go early (unless they were ludicrously expensive) and go for the 8 week one too, unless you could manage it with your doctor so you were “ill or really busy that week” so it could be 9 weeks? So do 7 weeks & 9 weeks to see more development? Do you then still get a 12 week one?

Hello - now reposting on here thanks to Aliona19 for pointing me in the right direction! Smile

Hello everyone,

I was hoping that I could join your chat? My husband and I have been trying for over 5 years now. We have finally been referred to Ipswich hospital as my local one closed and we went to meet out new doctor yesterday. He was very understanding and he has said that I need a laparoscopy and after that we can start IVF (if I pass the test for FSH levels).

I am excited a nervous...I gather that is normal through?

Minster2012 · 09/11/2017 20:14

Hello Ella! We thought you had run away scared after just seeing pictures of our mad dogs & cats on the old thread (we were using that one up as they all close at 1000 posts!) it is very very normal to be nervous excited, that’s what we all were (and still are most of the time!) but welcome!!

Any questions fire away, we are a mine of some useful information, different stories & protocols, a great support group and a fun bunch who sometimes get the right answer!!

Minster2012 · 09/11/2017 20:16

@ella1986 I meant to tag you in that so you saw it!!

My friend has just told me she feels crampy so she’s getting 2ww symptoms now! Though even she said “I might be dreaming it” her boobs have been painful for weeks now so that’s unlikely to change!!

Morning everyone,

ella hi 👋🏻 And welcome this bunch of ladies are great! It’s a good place to ask questions gain advice and rant. I had a lap and dye first it’s stabdard procedure to make sure there are no blockages.

minster amazing news on the friend getting symptoms have everything crossed for you🤞🏻X

star exciting time ahead for you, nearly at the next stage 😬x

otters harry scots hope you MTB are all doing ok!? X

atik amazing news on the lining not long now! X

Aliona sorry I can’t keep up remind me on what’s happening with you lovely? X

rose when is transfer day?

Sorry if I’ve missed people ! Hope the rest are all ok and doing well 😘

So this a.m at 9dp5dt I took a test and as I thought/knew it’s a BFN 😔

I will still test on Sunday like a good girl and keep taking the pessaries but I know I’m my heart it’s a no. Bit silly really to dream I would be one to be lucky the first time.

Will call the hosp on Monday to get an assessment date and start FET after Dec AF.

Any advice on what questions to ask?

Do you know if they can test the embryos for defects? - have read that 90% of failed IVF is the embryo not developing.

Can the test my uterus for abnormalities? - read about cysts that could hinder the embryo attaching?

Progesterone I am on pessaries and not injections do you think that makes a difference?

Sorry driving myself insane this morning, just keep remembering my DH face when the test showed BFN I feel so guilty that even with the best Grade 5AA embryo i still can’t get preggers 😢😔

Hardygirl78 · 10/11/2017 07:54

DBear, I'm so sorry. It's a horrible feeling, I felt terrible when I got my BFN that I couldn't help my little embryos grow. I'm not going to tell you to hold out for Sunday in case it's too early, you know your own body but for your own peace of mind, yes carry on with the progesterone until then.

Be kind to yourself, spend some time with DH and see what the Dr's say at your review appointment, x

Minster2012 · 10/11/2017 08:00

Oh dbear that’s rubbish, so sorry for you.

I don’t know if they ever know why each round fails but we are prepared for medication tweaking to get it right. FET can be a bit softer on the body I read but no idea, my friend might disagree!!

On the pessaries, we asked for injections instead of the pessaries as she hates them & being a nurse would rather inject herself but we were told pessaries are actually better absorbed by most ppl & injections are only given as top up. Was your progesterone tested? That’s part of ours & it has to be over 30 the day before transfer or they won’t do it so you could ask for that or ask what your progesterone was?

Don’t be hard on yourself, I know it’s easy to say but as I said to my friend last night embryos can stop developing at any point or not “grip/implant” well enough same as every month ppl TTC naturally don’t get pregnant every month. Otherwise it wouldn’t be so bloody hard.

I think they scan for cysts when they scan your uterus prior to the cycles, again they def did for us for the FET.

Love & hugs FlowersBrew

Aliona19 · 10/11/2017 08:44

Dbear. Big hugs for you. But Minster is right, there ll be just few good eggs out of many bad ones in woman. So there is nothing you can do other than put yourself together and try again! I was like you going crazy about this genetic screening tests and so on. But 1. It costs additional thousands£ 2. It’s invasive and can damage the embryo. I guess it’s an option if someone failed many times, but I personally won’t risk it for now.
And stop blaming yourself and feeling guilty in front of your partner. How is it your fault? It might have been his sperm that caused embryo not to develop. Grading is only visual thing, doesn’t mean it was a good one. So sorry you feeling rubbish, take it easy and start to get ready for fet and don’t let this stress and unreasonable guilt to get you down xx ❤️❤️❤️❤️

As for me I have app next Friday to discuss the Fet. Not sure when it’s happening, in December or January 🙃

Morning all!

Welcome Ella :)

Minster so exciting that your friend is having symptoms. How many days of the 2ww left? i bet you can't wait to test!

Dbear so sorry to hear this :( Please, please, please don't blame yourself. It's easier said than done (I do it loads), but it doesn't help at all. Be kind to yourself xx

Harry When can you have a scan? Have you been offered one yet?

Scots hope you feel less pukey soon!

Star it's exciting you can start soon! I had to clear out the majority of a kitchen cupboard to store all the injections, vials, tablets, sharp box etc - it is a nice feeling as you see the stash of drugs start to go down! Will you go skiing? People do ski when pregnant...

Tomorrow is ET - it has come around so quickly! The clinic called yesterday to give an update and said that out of the 8 which fertilised, two decided to stop doing anything, so we are left with 6. Two of these are looking good, and the others apparently aren't far behind. I'll know more tomorrow at 10am when we go for ET - EEK!
