Ivf buddies October/November

Hi

I have had my 1st consultation today to start ivf.
Looking for buddies to share information and talk to.
Have been told my amh is very low, and I have 20% success rate.
Appointment with the nurse Tuesday to find out when this rollercoaster starts.

Thank you everyone for your lovely wishes.....That's wonderful star, bet you're thrilled! How are you feeling today? Are you having any pain relief? Have you received a call from the embryologist? I'm still waiting on mine.

I had quite a few complications yesterday, it looks as if my clinic has overstimulated me - so I've ended up with 21 eggs which I'm guessing aren't going to be of great quality, it was apparently very difficult for them to retrieve and as a consequence I've got bruised ovaries! So was in a lot of pain yesterday and I'm still super sore today, just taking it easy. I'm at severe risk of OHSS so it may be the case that I need to cancel my fresh transfer, have an appointment with the nurse tomorrow who will let me know xxxxxxxxxx

OMG Pink I am very sorry to hear that! Take good care of yourself. On a great note 21 eggs is fabulous!!! When will they call you?

Well my EG went really well, honestly, and I was nervous but this Clinic is just AMAZING! Lasted 20 minutes and although I have a fibroid hiding my right ovary I was absolutely fine. No bleeding. Yes it was sore and tender yesterday and could not walk much or stand straight but today I feel so much better that I drove to work! Started on Pessaries and YES Sweetie they called me and out of the 8 eggs 4 fertilized on ICSI! so fingers crossed they will carry on growing. The Clinic will call me on Thursday at 8:30am to let me know if they are transferring that day or on Saturday.

Pink I did not take any meds after my EG. I am an alternative Therapists so used my training to help me

River hope you're getting on ok with the 2WW and managing to keep your mind off things!

Emma don't beat yourself up about diet, there's not evidence to show it makes any difference. My diet is utter crap at the moment because the metformin makes me feel nauseous all the time and all I seem to be able to barely stomach is bland and beige. Not the perfect IVF super diet that I had in mind!

pink sorry you had a tough EC. 21 is still a good result, I know they won't all be perfect but there's bound to be spme good ones in there. Have you had any news yet about fertilisation/OHSS?

I'm probably going to be in a similar situation pink. Had my last scan yesterday which showed 15 ready now (but they couldn't see all of my right ovary so might be more) and another 9 just below 😬. EC tomorrow, not sure how many I can expect, but obviously worried it will be far too many. I've been put onto yet another drug - cabergoline. Apparently it reduces the incidence of OHSS. Are you taking this pink? If not perhaps you could ask your clinic about it.

Star wow wish I had been that brave! I normally have a high pain threshold but EC knocked me...how amazing that you're an alternative therapist too...

I got the call from the Embryologist today and 11/21 eggs fertilised which makes me think lots of them probably weren't the right size or mature xx

Pirate - good luck for tomorrow, I found EC to be very unpleasant so make sure that you're kind to yourself xx i have a test for OHSS tomorrow but tbh I don't think I have any of the symptoms although I've been stocking up on my fluid intake by drinking lots of water and lucozade sports so I hope that has helped. Really hope nothing comes from the blood test, don't think I can emotionally take any more delays xx I haven't heard of that medication but I'll be sure to ask my clinic when I go there tomorrow xx

Pink I don't think I am being brave sweetie, I believe I was lucky and they got 8 eggs so it is a big difference with your 21! I have everything crossed that your blood test comes back all great and that you will get the ET you wished to much. In the meantime take good care of you sweetie and yes drink lots of water! I have mint tea to help a lot! I am on pessaries now and is interesting In itself 😜😱. How are you feeling today? Lots of love to you 😘😘😘

Well, EC was a bit traumatic. The sedation just didn't seem to have any effect. Very sore yesterday but feeling much better today.

Bit of a surprise result - I had loads of follicles drained, but most of them turned out to be empty. I was getting really stressed because I could hear the embryologist reporting all these empties and I thought I wasn't going to get any eggs!

As it turns out they got 10 eggs, although 2 were from small follicles and immature. I've just had a call to report that 6 have fertilized. I'm happy with that number, just still a bit worried as to why I had all those empty follicles. I'll find out tomorrow whether ET will be friday or monday (fingers crossed for monday).

star pink any update on your embryos? How did your OHSS test go pink?

Hope everyone else is getting on ok with their 2ww, stimming etc.

Professional I a man very sorry to hear your EC was traumatic but 6 fertilised is amazing! They called me this morning to see we don't have 4 fertilised but 5!? Anyway we have 2 good ones and ET will be this afternoon for me. The other 3 if they progress well will be frozen. You should ask them about your concern, but from what I read it is very possible for any women. When you think only one egg each cycle and your body produced 10 it is amazing no? Think about these envies growing sweetie and ask your questions to let go of any worries.

I'm rather concerned I am five days late not had my period this month I came off my tablets 14th November and I usually have my time of month regularly but nothing I can't continue my Ivf until my time of my month comes it's never really late if I am pregnant naturally confused as I didn't think I could any advice helpful xx

Pirate - well done on 6 little embabies! That's fantastic xx I know how you feel after EC, today is the first day that I don't feel totally awful! Have you had any news about when transfer will be?

I had my test on Wednesday and my consultant said as long as my symptoms don't worsen then I'm all set for ET which is tomorrow eek!!! I haven't had an update call from the embryologist so I'm going to give them a ring later today just to check on the grades but fingers crossed!

Star - are you still on track for your ET tomorrow? It's exciting isn't it?! Although I do feel pretty nervous too xx

Pink how nice it is to hear from you! I am so happy your ET is tomorrow, hold in there it is almost done! I had my ET yesterday as 2 were clearly doing really well they said, 1 was 12 cells and 1 was compacting. So yes they are on board 😬🙏🏻🌟✨💫. You will see it is a special moment and very much pain free sweetie! Keep us posted 😘

coolchick sorry I haven't got any experience of this, but perhaps you should take a test just in case and then call your clinic to see what they say? Hope you get to the bottom of it.

I had an update this morning - 3 embryos were a bit slower than they would like for day 2 (only 2 cell), 1x 4 cell and 1x 5 cell that had divided unevenly, leaving only one 4 cell that was doing everything it was supposed to do. My clinic doesn't do transfers over the weekend so we went ahead and had our transfer today, just the one embryo. They will carry on growing the remaining 5 until monday, but don't think there's much chance of getting anything to freeze. Not quite what we were hoping for, but trying to stay positive. X

star OTD is 18/12 but i'll definitely be testing early, I know I won't be able to help myself and it makes me feel a bit more in control of the situation. Will you be testing early or do you think you'll try and hold out?

Hi ladies,

Sorry for disappearing for a few days. Have been feeling a little down as had no symptoms at all and certain it hadn't worked despite having 2 transferred.

I have caught up on everyone's progress and wish you all the best for your cycles!

My update is that i am 7dp3dt and guess what i just got looks much pinker in real life! So shocked and scared especially as this morning i had a negative frer test which turned faintly positive after 10 minutes. This one came up within the 3 minutes

Thank you ladies! My frer was darker today which is the only reassurance i have for now.

So difficult to not get too excited despite being wary of something happening. Clinic will call me on Saturday to find out so I have set aside a test for that day!

The tww was agony, easily the worst bit of the cycle for me.

Fingers crossed for more BFPs in this thread! 🤞🤞🤞

I'm only 3 days post 2dt and I'm already going nuts. Just had the news from the clinic that despite some of my remaining embryos making it to blastocyst, they did not feel it was worth freezing any as they were a bit slow to get there ☹️. Puts a bit more pressure on this one working!

My retrieval only got 3 eggs, 1 stopped growing on day 2 and they transferred the remaining 2 on day 3 so I have no frozen ones either.
