Hi

I have had my 1st consultation today to start ivf.
Looking for buddies to share information and talk to.
Have been told my amh is very low, and I have 20% success rate.
Appointment with the nurse Tuesday to find out when this rollercoaster starts.

Cool sorry to hear you're cycle has been cancelled Flowers I know it's easier said than done, but try not to blame yourself, it won't help anything & will only make you feel worse. Fx you get some answers at your next scan. Look after yourself

Coolchick11 · 15/11/2017 07:32

Thanks it will just take sometime to sink in I have been asking more questions so that this don't happen again as the 4th attempt is def our last one managed to get our accommodation and car parking back but we can transfer on another flight

HopeNovember2017 · 15/11/2017 07:47

Coolchick11 so sorry to hear this. People who havent been through this dont understand how much mental preparation it takes to get to this point. Dont blame yourself! Its your body's way of telling you that it wasnt quite ready and might not have worked! Glad you manage to get some money back. What are your next steps?

Gizmo I wish I could have your attitude! But yes, agree with the others - you need to get to the bottom of it!

Coolchick11 · 16/11/2017 06:57

Got to wait another three weeks for a scan when had period to see if the follicle or cyst has gone I'm worried to say that something is growing inside me hope it corrects itself before next scan x

Coolchick11 · 16/11/2017 06:58

If everything ok after that we fly out week before Christmas x

HopeNovember2017 · 16/11/2017 07:35

Coolchick11 well it gives you a few weeks to get your head around things before the next step. Really hoping this turns into a Christmas miracle for you!

Im on day 3 of buserelin and have a weird metallic taste when I drink tea, I thought someone at work had attempted to descale the kettle and not cleaned it properly but everyone assures me its just me that thinks it taste funny? Has anyone else had that while being on buserelin?

xx

Coolchick11 · 16/11/2017 15:53

Hopes it's a miracle baby to as not having much luck at the moment thanks for all your support lovely ladies it's very touching xx

Emma1199 · 16/11/2017 21:15

Hi ladies - can I join your thread? Hubby has male factor (low morphology/motility) and I have PCOS. We started our first IVF cycle in September - got 10 embryos fertilised, all of which had to be frozen, as I developed OHSS, so cycle was cancelled. Finally scheduled to have our FET transfer tomorrow, but absolutely petrified. Would really love to chat to others going through process xx

struggleisreal · 16/11/2017 21:27

Sorry to hear you’re not going ahead this month coolchick - hopefully you’re not waiting too long.

gizmo so sorry to hear of your news as well - hope you’ve got some more answers. I would demand a free round! Hope your one is still going!

I had a day 6 stims scan yesterday - 5 on track (I think) and another 5 much smaller so dose has been upped and back on Saturday. Felt a bit disappointed there won’t more, but I have been preparing myself for a poor response. Just hope these five keep on going.

Hope everyone else is OK and welcome hope and emma. Best of luck tomorrow Emma!

Starlumiere · 16/11/2017 22:46

Hi Emma,

Why are you petrified sweetie? I am in my 3rd day injecting and first scan tomorrow and my first time so I don't have the experience BUT from all I have read on here the transfer is easy and quick 😃. All will be well sweetie! You have the embied and quite a few and from tomorrow 1 will be in you, how wonderful!!!! Why are you petrified? X

gizmoismymate · 17/11/2017 08:19

Hi ladies - well we had our transfer - thankfully only one embie was as good as it gets - so everything crossed now.

We spoke to them about the what I am now calling in the incident, and it appears it was a one in a million risk with the handling of eggs. They basically disappeared which means they were unlikely to be good eggs anyway. They said this only happens 1 or 2 a year max so we are just very unlucky. Instead we are focusing our efforts on been positive and sitting out the 2ww... Lots of lovely things planned now.. hope everyone is doing okay x

struggleisreal · 17/11/2017 08:45

Best of luck gizmo - hope you can relax a little bit now and enjoy the TWW. Xx

Emma1199 · 17/11/2017 09:08

Morning ladies - thanks for your kind words. Our ET is later today - will report back on how it goes.

Struggleisreal - fingers crossed for your Saturday scan - is this your first cycle?

Starlumiere - The whole process is emotional turmoil - I want to be positive, but at the same time I'm petrified knowing I could be heart broken too... Hope your scan goes well today - let us know how it goes.

Gizmoismymate - Sorry to hear what happened re. your EC, but glad to see you're remaining so positive, and that your ET went well. Was the actual ET uncomfortable at all?

xx

Coolchick11 · 17/11/2017 13:01

Welcome Emma and struggle I have to wait another four weeks and have to have a scan to see whatever is growing inside me has gone before I can do my 4th attempt Emma you shouldn't be worried and we can all help you get through it all lovely people on here xx

Starlumiere · 17/11/2017 14:21

Hi Everybody!

Gizmo I am so very happy for you! Smile Now rest and take good care of yourself. Keeping everything crossed for you! X

Emma, yes indeed it is very testing but we are women we can do this! All the best for the afternoon, in a few hours you will have an embie on board! How wonderful!!! Let us know how is goes, but I am sure all will be just ok! Wink

So the nurse could see clearly my left ovary and 8 follicles growing...couldn't find my right one as usual, but she was not worried and said a couple are at 9mm the rest 8mm, so where it should be at this stage. On Monday the Consultant will be here and will check me out. What is important is teh blood test, but from what she saw and hearing from me, I should carry on what I am doing, same amount and all smile. After my blood results they will call me if I need to adjust my meds.

Bye for now all! X

ProfessionalPirate · 17/11/2017 15:21

Hi all!

Day 3 of stims here. Had my baseline scan on day 1 where I was told I had PCO, which was unexpected. I've got a total of 80 antral folicles, and been put onto metformin. High risk for OHSS so I'm mentally preparing myself for a possible freeze-all this cycle.

Emma hope today's FET went well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and gizmo, and everyone else on the thread x

RiverRose · 17/11/2017 19:41

Hi ladies,

I haven't posted for a few days, been busy at work and trying to rest a bit more than usual at home.

Finger crossed for all those still in a cycle and so sorry Cool that is has had to be postponed Sad

Day 9 of stims today, day 10 scan & bloods tomorrow. Had Day 8 scan yesterday and they plotted 3 about 16mm (I think, was trying to read upside down lol) and another 3 about 14mm or just above. Then 12 (possible more, they couldn't see the right ovary fully) which were a fair bit behind the others.

No changes made to dosage but nurse said it depends on tomorrow whether they will try for the 6 or sacrifice them to get the 12 to a good size.

I'm on short protocol due to higher than average AMH for my age (but not high enough to suggest PCOS it seems)

Good luck everyone!

Rememberallball · 18/11/2017 11:53

Hi Emma1199, how did you get on with ET yesterday?

We are 9dp5dt today, I’ve been doing a combination of ic and FRER in the mornings but still getting bfn’s every time. Been reading up on the process and it seems, sometimes, frozen embryos (ended up freezing 4x 5 day blasts for 4 days because donors eggs matured early and I wasn’t far enough through my cycle to have ET done while they were fresh) take a little longer to implant and produce hcg so I may still be testing a little early.

We have betaHCG tests booked for Tuesday morning with results, I presume, in the afternoon but don’t know if surgery will automatically call me or if I have to call them - will be asking on Tuesday morning!!

Emma1199 · 18/11/2017 15:39

Hi ladies - hope your Saturday is going well.

Yesterday's ET went okay, albeit uncomfortable/emotional - consultant and nurse had problems at first due to the position/slant of my uterus, so that sent me into a panic. I had some cramps throughout yesterday evening, and randomly today - did anyone else have that too?

Coolchick11 and Struggle - hope the next 4 weeks goes past quickly for you so you can make a start with your next cycles.

Starlumiere all the best for Monday. ProfessionalPirate all the best with your stimming. I still take metformin for my PCOS too - despite the OHSS risk, hope you get a good number of eggs. RiverRose how did it go today?

Rememberallball I heard that it takes a bit longer for the HCG levels to be detected for FETs - my doctor recommended waiting 16 days before I test - not sure I can resist until then! Hmm

xx

Rememberallball · 18/11/2017 16:08

Thanks for that info, Emma. I think I’m just too impatient and the clinic did say to wait till 14dpt for doing a urine test.

I’ve still got sore breasts and one of my favourite bras doesn’t seem to fit properly!! Going to keep going till bloods on Tuesday!!

Lucie78 · 18/11/2017 19:34

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all okay and making it through each day unscathed.

I had 5 eggs collected in the 6/11 and ended up with 3 on day 5, we transferred the best one and froze the other 2. I’ve been trying to relax and live my life normally, but wow! It’s hard. I had some very light red spotting 2 days after transfer and yesterday I had pink spotting and this evening I’ve had some more red blood, not loads and only when I wipe, and it’s not there now, has anyone else had any spotting??? I’m holding off till Wednesday to test, but I’m feeling really worried now that I’m going to start bleeding. I have been pregnant before and bled, I just hope it’s my cervix ( I had a loop exertion for abnormal cells a few years ago).

Any advice would be great.

Thanks. Xxxxx

struggleisreal · 19/11/2017 10:00

Hi lucie great news that you’ve got this far and that you’ve got two bonus Frosties.

I’ve had the loop thing too- I always had spotting before my period but read somewhere it can be because of increased progesterone, so hopefully a good sign? Also plenty of people spot in early pregnancy - my friend did after an IVF cycle and now has a healthy one year old! Hope you can keep calm for the next few days xxx

Emma1199 · 19/11/2017 13:00

Hi ladies - hope your Sunday is going well. It's been 2 days since my transfer, and I'm still experiencing mild cramps - trying to keep myself distracted.

Lucie78 - I read a few things that said spotting can be normal, and that it can happen after an ET, as the embryo buries itself into the uterus to implant. Try and stay positive - not long to go now until Wednesday! Keeping everything crossed for you!

xxx

Coolchick11 · 19/11/2017 15:58

emma i will be starting my next cycle in a couple of weeks as my time of month period is probably going to appear Saturday.

remember that sounds all positive to me if you are getting all that.

I haven't really anything to say since Tuesday when it all happened wish all the best for people that are cycling now with donor eggs or own eggs

Cool Chick

Rememberallball · 20/11/2017 12:33

Thanks coolchick, I am hoping they’re good signs and not just side effects of the progesterone/ oestrogen treatment!! I had to change our of a bra as it’s just too tight!! My blood test is tomorrow morning at 10:48 (strange time I know) and I need to find out whether they will ring me or if I need to call them!!
