Hi

I have had my 1st consultation today to start ivf.
Looking for buddies to share information and talk to.
Have been told my amh is very low, and I have 20% success rate.
Appointment with the nurse Tuesday to find out when this rollercoaster starts.

How's everyone else getting on? What happened in the end with your follicles river? Did you wait for the 12 or just go for the six?

Nothing much to report here, day 7 of stims. No monitoring scans yet so no idea how my follicles are coming along. Just wishing the days away really.

Thanks Pirate, am currently sat in Drs waiting for my appointment and to find out about when I’ll actually know - and if I have to call them or if they’ll call me.

Had my first stimms scan today...it's all starting to feel real!

Sorry it's been a few days since I last posted! Feeling very tired and achy at the moment.

Saturday's scan (day 10 of stims) showed slow growth of the eggs, only one was an acceptable collection size. I'm on bemfola on alternating doses to combat over stimulation but it appears this ended up being too low. They upped the dose slightly and on Monday's scan yesterday (day 12 of stims) I had 4 eggs of a good collectable size and a 2-3 more just a smidgen below. And then several more further down.

They've decided that I should carry on until today and then take my trigger injection tonight, trying their luck that the higher dose and extra day gets the just under eggs to a good size.

Also, they have noticed yesterday that my c-section scar (I have children from a previous relationship, my current husband has male factor infertility) has gathered some fluid, probably cervical mucus due to the stims. There seems to be indecision as to how they may go ahead after collection, whether they will cancel a fresh transfer (if we get any embryos) and go for a FET in the new year.

I hope not from a quick google it does seem that often the issue goes away once the stims stop but obviously might affect the womb environment. My scar has not been an issue at previous scans but I've stimmed for longer than usual so this probably caused a build up I guess.

Well looks like it’s all over for me, I’ve had bfn today, and I’ve been spotting since Friday. I’m 11dpec, so it’s doubtful I will get a bnp anytime soon. I called the unit and they have told me to stop the cyclogest and my period will
Come within a few days. I have an app to speak to the consultant on the 8th to discuss further testament. We have 2 good 6 day blasts frozen, so surely one of those is my baby.

Oh Lucie that sucks! I am very sorry to hear that but I love your approach about your future plan!

I ahve read on here that people get a negative and then later a positive. Not trying to give you high hopes but are you certain? It is amazing that you have 6 Blasts! You probably have more than 1 in ether .

Had my 3rd scan and I am almost ready. my lining is 9mm and they want to see me for another scan on Friday to determine when the EG will be. Probably on Monday next week. So basically I have 1x 23mm, 1x 21mm, 1x 19mm, 2x 16mm and the rest are small like 11mm/9mm (3more). He could only see 2 follies on the right and said there are probably more as he saw more on my first scan (5) but did not want to press more than he did.

So wee will see I guess!

I have my final scan on Friday but they said if everything is as it is and carries on I'll have EC on Monday too so looks like we'll be in the TWW together eek xx

Well, after waiting over 24 hours with no news and then having to get the gp surgery to contact the hospital for the results of my blood test, I finally found out yesterday that the ivf didn’t work and so I’m out.

DH has said I can try again once more if I really want to and we’ll spend the next few months saving to go back to the same clinic

I've still got a week to wait - but continuing on as normal.. it's odd but I just have a feeling it hasn't worked and I know 1st success does happened but I'm prepared to be looking at cycle 2. Started my research in clinic aboard..

Fingers crossed to those ladies still on the journey..

I am hoping to have my period in next couple of days and next few weeks go for another scan just hope that they don't find anything this time extremely worried at the moment even stopped my folic at mo as I think it may of been that x

Evening ladies - sorry not been active in last few days, have been very busy at work and completely exhausted in the evenings as a result! I am feeling a bit guilty/worried that I have not given myself the best chance by not taking it easy these last few days (albeit slightly glad for the distraction at work). For those that have had transfers, how much time did you take off work post transfer to rest?

I had cramping/back pain at the beginning of the week, but those symptoms have gone, and I do not feel much different now, tbh. Gizmoismymate, I also have about another week to wait (can test from next fri), and feeling a bit pessimistic as well - this will be our first cycle too - how many embryos did you put back?

RiverRose hope your scar has settled down now. Lucie78, Rememberallball, so sorry to hear about your results - hope you can do something nice over the weekend with your hubbies to try and take your mind off things.

Emma your testing the same day as me! next Friday. I'm the same as you I don't feel any different other than boobs that are hurting and appear to have got bigger (I already have big boobs for my frame so that isn't a welcome addition). I think I'm trying to be realistic, if it does work then amazing if not onwards and upwards...

Just the 1 embryo put in - our clinic has a 'one at a time' rule. They rarely do more than 1.

Interesting - I thought I had been under medicated but our clinic said I was on the highest dose they do - 300iu but I'm sure I've seen others are on more? ladies were any of you on more merional than 300? also it doesn't match with the letter they sent to my doctor worrying about over stim? hmmmmm

Starlumiere yep egg collection on Monday! Starting to allow myself to get a tad excited now! Although I know it should be within reason xx my scan showed lots of follicles, 11 the right size and then hopefully a couple more that will be the right size over the weekend xx I've already packed my bag for the hospital and just going to keep myself busy over the weekend so I don't start to stress xx are you all prepped?x

Had egg collection yesterday, had around 8 follicles but only 3 contained eggs this cycle has not been as easy or as straightforward as the clinic originally thought it would be but we are getting there. Low eggs probably due to low dose stims they said (to avoid OHSS)

As I said, fluid reduced some, hopefully will be gone in a few days and it looks like they are going to try and transfer no matter what as they are being cautious not to waste the few eggs. Though we have morphology issues, the semen sample was actually fine so they did IVF rather than ICSI.

Nurse rang this morning and against the odds, all three have fertilised! so pleased and yet obviously still so cautious. So transfer will either be Sunday if one or more doesn't make it or Tuesday if they all make it to blast.

Had my first stim scan yesterday (day 10) and I've got about 3 follicles ready now, and another dozen or so almost ready. EC very likely to be wednesday they say.

My NHS clinic only do collections and transfers on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. Does anyone elses do that? Seems a bit restrictive. eg if you have a monday collection, your only options for transfer are day 2 and day 4 - you couldn't have a 5 day transfer even if you had the most perfect embryos in the world. Obviously I'm very lucky to be getting any treatment on the NHS at all, but I did wonder.

Ours is NHS but the clinic are open every day of the week to perform collections and transfers.

Update on us: The clinic called today (day 3) to say that one of the three embryos had stalled at 5 cells. The other two are at 7 and 8 cells and progressing. So they told me to come in for transfer today.

Went straight in, filling up on water along the way BADLY needed the loo but it did the trick and we transferred both embryos at their suggestion.

So just the waiting game now! OTD is 9th Dec but know I won't make it until then. I just hope at least one of them sticks!

Evening ladies - hope you're doing okay. Feeling so low tonight - convinced myself it hasn't worked from current lack of symptoms, and feeling guilty that I haven't changed my diet enough, and didn't take time off work to help the stress (developed cold sore and mouth ulcers these last few days as feel so tired and run down).

Gizmoismydate not sure what merinol is, sadly - I'm only on Lublin, cyclogest, fragomin, progynova and aspirin. We can test from Friday too, but as I've got plans during Saturday day, I'm probably going to test until Saturday night to give myself that evening and Sunday to process the result...
