Hi

I have had my 1st consultation today to start ivf.
Looking for buddies to share information and talk to.
Have been told my amh is very low, and I have 20% success rate.
Appointment with the nurse Tuesday to find out when this rollercoaster starts.

Morning all. How is everyone?

We have been in Cyprus for 36 hours now and, while it’s blustery and rainy every so often, generally the weather is good. We go to the clinic tomorrow to meet our consultant and for me to have a scan. Egg collection is planned for Saturday with embryo transfer either Tuesday or Thursday!!

Hello all,

I started downregging yesterday although I think I should've started today...for some reason my clinic class day 1 as full day of bleed but according to my clue/ovia app it was cycle day 21 yesterday so I got really confused and started yesterday just incase!!! Wishing away the next two weeks until stims, I'm working away from home for the start of this week so makes it crappy that dh isn't there to support with the injections cus I absolutely hate them Angry trying to keep my weekends jam packed for the next couple of weeks so that I'm not just sitting around waiting!!!!! Although at the same time I'm nervous for the bloating on the stims as I've not told family or work that we're going through IVF!

@angelazul you must be getting excited that it's all happening in the next couple of days - fingerscrossed for everything

@remember eek! How exciting! Bet it feels like so much is happening at once! Fingerscrossed for EC and ET!!!

angelazul · 30/10/2017 19:29

Sounds like it's all systems go remember fx it all goes well.

Pink I'm a little bit excited, but feeling more nervous tbh. I have a real fear of needles, so not looking foward to that aspect of it.

Just got letter in from gp saying my smear is due . I'm assuming I'd be ok to have it before egg collection - anyone know anything about this?

Rememberallball · 31/10/2017 04:35

PinkChocolate, my clinic in Cyprus said if my bleed started before noon it was CD1 but, if it was after, then it was CD2. They wanted us it here for CD8 but flights on the Monday (yesterday) were £1000+ for 3 of us, couldn’t get flights on the Sunday that arrived at the hotel at a civilised time (i.e. landed before 2:15am with hotel arrival around 4am) so ended up flying out here on CD6 (Saturday) and managed to get reasonable timed flights for under £600 for 3 of us.

In fact it’s been lovely; Sunday we wandered round our hotel grounds (lots of gardens, right on the private beach and quite secluded), we had afternoon naps and an early night. Yesterday we wandered up to the main road, found a bank and supermarket and a few places to eat as well as a hairdressers for my mum to go to later in the week; we sat round the pool for a couple of hours and relaxed.

Today we have a taxi coming at 10:45 local time to take us to the clinic to have a scan and meet the consultant who will do our ivf.

It’s all very exciting and quite nerve wracking at the same time!!

angelazul · 31/10/2017 08:56

Good luck remember!!!

I'm taking a day off work today & trying not to feel too guilty about it. For the past few days I've been feeling like I'm getting sick, & it's all just overwhelming me a bit atm, so I think a self care day is in order. My manager has been fab about it & told me to take whatever time I need, but I do still feel a bit bad.

gizmoismymate · 31/10/2017 13:18

Angelazul I totally get what you mean. I thought about taking two weeks off rather than be hit and miss, but my manager has been super supportive. Thankfully I can work from home if needed but I don't like doing that, even through I'm working I still feel bad about the team. Just take the day and relax - treat yourself to something nice. I start stims on Thursday and it's my day off so I'm going the spa, facial and a cheeky massage then tea with one of my close friends - anything to take the mind off.

remember sounds amazing, perfect relaxing surroundings - good lux with EC.. do you know when it will take place?

Rememberallball · 01/11/2017 07:00

Morning all. Sat in the sunshine waiting for car from clinic to arrive and take us up to Nicosia for DH to ‘do his bit’ of this process. EC happening today as well and consultant says it gives them a few days to prepare embryos and, if no good ones, to try for more before ET which is booked for November 8th at the moment. I wonder, if the first lot of embryos develop well, whether they’ll move WT forward - I am going in on Saturday for a blood test to ensure I’ve not gone through premature follicle rupture which will put a halt to all our plans for 2017 at least!!

angelazul · 02/11/2017 18:47

Remember how did you get on yesterday?

Started stims today, was so blooming nervous (I'm so so scared of needles Blush ) but I managed it without any drama. Fx I'll find all the others much easier now.

How is everyone else getting on?

PinkChocolatex · 02/11/2017 20:55

Hope it went well remember

Ohh Angela, I'm the same with needles - I normally faint for blood tests but this week hasn't been too bad with the needles...I've got my endometrial scratch tomorrow! Wish me luck!!!

notparticularlypatient · 03/11/2017 07:44

Pink good luck with the scratch!

Angela well done starting the injections. Agree with you - needles are not among my favorites... I'm on day nine of stimms today, and I still find it unpleasant but remind myself why I do it and then I'm ok. But looking forward to it being over soon!

Remember hope all is well on Cyprus and fingers crossed for lots of good eggs on Saturday!

I have my scan this morning and if all is good I think they will schedule EC for Monday. So excited and nervous. I am 41 so might not be too many eggs left. Hopefully at least a couple of good onesSmile

gizmoismymate · 03/11/2017 12:05

Morning everyone - well I did my 1st injection last night. I was a bit of a girl about it but did it in the end.. worse bit was when my DH cut open his fingers opening one of the water vials! Fingers crossed now the first one is over it will get better however I will be very happy when these are finished..

Hope everyone is doing okay :-)

Rememberallball · 03/11/2017 15:51

Afternoon all (well almost evening here) from damp chilly Cyprus!! Was hoping it would be warmer here but finding it’s breezy and cool so need cardigans and end up sitting on balcony with a towel on my lap as a blanket!!

Found out this afternoon that we’ve got 12 fertilised eggs!! Tomorrow I go for a blood test to check my progesterone levels and ensure I haven’t had premature follicle rupture and we should be all systems go for embryo transfer at the beginning of the week!!

ProfessionalPirate · 03/11/2017 19:14

Hi all, thought I'd check in as it's all starting to kick off now. Started downregging on tuesday - no side effects at all so far, although I'm still taking the pill until next week and nurse said that can mask symptoms so we'll see.

Had my endometrial scratch today, same as you pink. How did you find it? To be honest, I found it pretty painful. I wasn't expecting to as I barely even noticed my HSG, which I know a lot of women find uncomfortable. But hey ho, at least it was over fairly quickly.

Congrats on your 12 fertilised eggs remember that's a great result.

Coolchick11 · 04/11/2017 08:39

Hi join if I can help in anyway i will I too am going through donor ivf this is my third and final attempt with Quiron Barcelona first two attempts didn't work second attempt had two eggs implanted and they died in me we fly back to Spain in couple weeks and find I need someone to talk to keep me calm in all this xx

Coolchick11 · 04/11/2017 09:33

Sorry that message didn't make sense I need to find people to keep me calm in all this are you abroad or in uk

Rememberallball · 04/11/2017 16:24

We’re uk based but in Cyprus for our treatment. Good luck for your next trip to Barcelona coolchick xx

Rememberallball · 04/11/2017 16:28

Today we found our day 3 embryos are 6 x grade 1 ‘excellent’; 2 x grade 1 ‘good’ as a little slower to develop and the remaining 4 are good but developing more slowly however still within acceptable limits for embryologist. We are looking at 8th or 9th for ET and tonight I start clexane injections, crinone gel and doxycycline antibiotics on top of the folic acid, aspirin and prednisolone I already take.

Coolchick11 · 05/11/2017 13:14

Good luck remember 6 is still a good number thanks ah that's cool cyprus meant to be nice never been let us know how you get on

angelazul · 05/11/2017 19:19

That's excellent news remember Star

Cool fx you have better luck this time around.

Gizmo I found the 1st injection was the worst, all the others have been much easier.

Not best of luck for tomorrow, fx it all goes well!!!

Starting to feel very bloated, heavy & uncomfortable now. And still exhausted Sad Has anyone else had many side effects?

Coolchick11 · 05/11/2017 22:04

angelazul thanks tell me all about your journeys are you all European clinics and uk based like remember I am def staying positive that this is my time in a couple weeks but I rather emotional at the mo with what I have been through with my journey we have 6 embroys all survived the 5 day blast so I am thinking if they can all survive the five days then I am hoping that I will be successful with two of them this time fingers and toes crossed

Rememberallball · 06/11/2017 06:21

Text message yesterday to say ET happening on Thursday and, on Wednesday, they will message me with times for being collected and taken to clinic. Today we're taking a taxi to Kyrenia and spending some time there including a meal before heading back to hotel for the evening. Can't believe this week is when all our planning comes to fruition. Finding injections and gels ok but finding doxycycline is making me feel very nauseous whether I take it before or after food; thankfully it's only for 5 days total.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Coolchick11 · 06/11/2017 07:10

All good here thanks wow Thursday exciting hope weather is good for you nothing to report with me just waiting game now I have a scan week Tuesday and fly out following Wednesday

angelazul · 06/11/2017 07:49

Cool I'm in N.I. on 1st (& only) cycle funded by NHS. Been trying for over 2 years with MFI (antisperm anitbodies) so ICSI seems like our only hope.

Coolchick11 · 06/11/2017 12:42

Ah wow I said never after first attempt but I decided to do another then the second cycle didn't work so trying for third time lucky but this is our last shot where I live we didn't have the option with nhs had to pay then obviously donor eggs didn't like knowing that when the child was 18 they would be able to trace biological mum so gone to Spain where it is anonymous

gizmoismymate · 06/11/2017 12:51

well I'm a good couple of days in and start my morning injections on top of evening ones tomorrow. Tons better now - I feel like I'm a pro..so much so I'm taking my little kit bag of stuff out with me when I go for a meal later in the week - I hate the curfew on having to be in by my meds for 9pm..

No real side effects at the moment apart from wanting to drink loads of water - which I understand is a known side effect and feeling a bit tired. Did a 7km walk and felt a bit dizzy which I wouldn't normally feel..

How's everyone else?? Remember such exciting news :-)
