IVF Cycle Buddies August/September?

meadowlark3 · 02/08/2017 19:21

Anyone starting a cycle this month? I know there's a July/August thread, but seems that they've mostly all started on their cycles. I'm due to start DR tomorrow and if all goes well will have EC at the beginning of September.

Have not shared our IVF journey with too many people in IRL so would love to have a bit of company here. This will be our first go at IVF, so quite nervous at the mo!

Did you literally eat eggs every single day @fox? I tried to eat more protein during stims, but I found it really hard to eat, and then my time was cut short because they worried about OHSS. I think my eggs might have done better with a few more days... but then I’m not the doc!

I’m going to take omega 3 (took these last time), coq10, prenatal vitamin. and try to just eat naturally. I’m quite a healthy eater, but I do eat processed foods too. Might go back to the gym for fitness (stress relief too).

Not sure what else to do? I’ve read about Maca for smoothies but not sure I really understand what it’s for! Lol

Pass on any tips! 🙂 xx

How are you ladies today?

BeHereNow31 · 06/03/2018 10:14

Back to work tomorrow. Dreading it 😣 but I really should get back to normal! Really can’t wait for our follow up appointment with the hospital, but haven’t heard anything just yet. Having a day out with husband today. Going to for lunch, so hopefully that can cheer me up a bit. Lol.

And you?? X

Fox23 · 06/03/2018 12:16

hi ladies!
At work.... would rather not be but such is life 😁
I have my scan on Friday so abit apprehensive. It’s only 5w5d but they have to scan early to avoid potential risks. Once that is done, I will be able to relax... or not, depending how it goes..... this journey just doesn’t get less stressful...
I’m not complaining, just worried ..,

BeHereNow31 · 06/03/2018 16:39

I know you’re nervous, but hope you’re feeling a little excited for the scan too 🤞
It feels so long ago that it was our test day!!! Hope I don’t cry at work tomorrow. Going to be popping the kalms tablets! 😂😂 xx

Janefx40 · 06/03/2018 18:28

Hi @BeHereNow31 hope you had a good day out and a nice lunch. I hope going back to work goes ok and that it distracts you at least...not easy I know given your job.

@Fox23 of course you are nervous. The 2WW is bad enough...let alone this one. But we have to just hope for the best.

I'm approaching AF due Friday I think. And even tho I know now that we are very very unlikely to conceive naturally I still seem to be symptom spotting and felt really upset when I felt the onset of cramps.

On the plus side work have been really good about the next cycle. I spoke to HR instead of my boss. She said they would try to be flexible for the first few but if it goes on a really long time we would have to look again.

Xxx

BeHereNow31 · 07/03/2018 09:23

So nervous about going to work. Really hope I don’t burst into tears, when someone asks me about my holiday! I don’t start till this afternoon, so that’s a bit easier.

@Janefx40 it’s hard! We have no chance of conceiving without IVF, but I still google. To try and find ways to make it work lol.

Hope you’re feeling better today x

Janefx40 · 07/03/2018 10:00

@BeHereNow31 it must be so hard going back to your work but am wishing you lots of good luck and hope it goes better than you think

BeHereNow31 · 07/03/2018 11:10

Our follow up appointment with the doctor came through. It’s not for another couple of months. Why does everything take so long? 😪 x

Janefx40 · 07/03/2018 15:48

Oh no! That is ages away. Is your clinic NHS? I would call up and ask about cancellations? And I think you should also sit down and write a list of questions now so that you remember in case it is far away.

How was work?

X

Fox23 · 07/03/2018 18:16

@BeHereNow31 how was getting back at work? Was it as bad as you feared? I so hope it wasn’t that bad at all 🤞
Can’t believe it’s so long! They do say you have to wait at least one/two full cycles before starting again, but this sounds to be a month too long. I suppose if it’s NHS then not much can be done. If it’s private then you shouldn’t be made to work.
What part of uk are you from? (I know it doesn’t make much difference but NHS is so different depending where you live)

BeHereNow31 · 07/03/2018 18:36

So... I cried my eyes out when I got to work!!! I told a couple of girls I work with what is going on. Everyone else was just told that I’ve got some stress going on. After a big cry, I was ok. I’m embarrassed now, but I couldn’t help it at the time!!!!

I’m nhs in Scotland. I don’t remember it being so long last time, but this is with the head doctor, so might be longer. Husband isn’t happy though, he wants to try and get earlier. Xx

Janefx40 · 08/03/2018 08:37

Ah I'm sorry @BeHereNow31 about you feeling so sad at work. Do you think it will be easier today now you've done one day already? Good luck.

The appt is super annoying - you may not be able to start IVF again immediately but you obviously want a follow up to talk through the cycle you've just had. Very frustrating.

@Fox23 not long now until your scan. This week seems to be dragging.

I did a pregnancy test this morning! BFN obviously (after all there is a reason I'm on the IVF boards!). Period is possibly due tomorrow and no sign yet but then cycle is different anyway due to IVF. That would have been at least 14 dpo. If it doesn't come tomorrow then I miscalculated ovulation and it will be Friday 16th or later. I feel better actually for doing the test - I was driving myself mad as usual swinging between symptom spotting and hope and massive lows when I'd have a realisation that I probably wasn't pregnant. I know I need to not do this every month but don't know how to stop.

BeHereNow31 · 08/03/2018 21:38

It was easier today, yeah. But I can’t wait for the weekend already!

Hope you’re feeling ok janefx40 I think it will always hurt, until we actually have our babies here 😔 xx

Janefx40 · 09/03/2018 07:49

Thanks @BeHereNow31 for understanding.

I'm off to the States this morning. Nashville for family party then out into the mountains. Will have WiFi in Nashville so will check in from there

Xxx

BeHereNow31 · 09/03/2018 13:10

Sounds lovely! Enjoy the change of scenery xx

Fox23 · 09/03/2018 16:37

@Janefx40 omg! My favourite part of states!!! I have never been there but that’s the only part I actually want to see!!! Have the best time!!! You sooooooo deserve it !!!!
@BeHereNow31 weekend is here!!!!! And next week will hopefully be better and easier for you! Any plans for the weekend?

I just had my scan. Firstly it’s not ectopic!!!! It’s in the right place!!! Then nurse panicked me when she said she needed doctors opinion... as she couldn’t see something. Doctor came in, zoomed in and out and in... and suddenly me and my hubby heard the heart beat!!!!! Unbelievable.., at 4mm it has a heartbeat! All is good and well, next scan on 26th.

💕

Ging78 · 09/03/2018 16:47

Fox I was just going to say I was thinking about you today and hoped it went well.

Amazing news I'm so very very happy for you. Xxx

Fox23 · 09/03/2018 17:12

@Ging78 my darling! Thank you! Forgot to mention that there is one. I’m so glad we transferred two, otherwise we may have had nothing... how are you keeping up? How far are you now?

Janefx40 · 09/03/2018 20:22

@Fox23 congrats! So exciting and amazing to have heard the heart beat too. So pleased for you - and for all of us - feel like we are all on the journey together. One baby is plenty.

I've just landed in Chicago and got confirmation of my NHS funding and appt (man that was quick - funding applied for and approved in 5 days!). Appt is a week Monday.

Xxx

Fox23 · 10/03/2018 04:49

@Janefx40- that’s amazing!!!! So super quick!!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞 so you have exciting holiday ahead and nhs Ivf appointment. Regardless on how my 12 weeks will progress, I got BFP on NHS, so it’s all good! I was referred to very good clinic where most pay privately, but others gets funding. Hopefully you get good referral 😁 Congrats!!!!!!! 💕
Enjoy your holiday!!!

Janefx40 · 18/03/2018 16:55

Hello ladies. Am back from hols. Had a great time. How are things?

Xxx

Fox23 · 18/03/2018 17:59

@Janefx40 how was your holiday? I bet it was wonderful!!!!

BeHereNow31 · 18/03/2018 18:14

@Janefx40 hi! ☺️ I hope you had a brilliant time!!! How are you?

I’ve been feeling quite rundown/ hormonal. But definitely more positive about things! Been discussing adoption, which also gives me some hope.

How are you @fox23? Do you have any more scans or appointments coming up?
Xx

Janefx40 · 20/03/2018 12:13

Hi @BeHereNow31 Ooo adoption is so exciting! Tell us what you find out. I have friends who adopted 3 at once (siblings). They are an amazing family. And other friends who adopted 2 one at a time.

Glad you are feeling slightly better but not surprised you are run down.

My body is screwed post chemical/IVF. I've still not had a period (day 37) and my boobs keep growing then shrinking so I think progesterone levels are all over the place. I'm worried now that I used all my eggs up in one go and have now run out. That is probably illogical!
