Hi all! I know there's a June/July thread but I've started this one as I'm so far behind everyone else and wanted to find others at the same stage as me!

We're due to start a FET after a failed fresh cycle in march resulted in a CP. We got 5 Frosties which I'm so pleased with and we're putting two frozen ones back this time.

AF came yesterday, so I'm booked in for scratch on 24th of this month and start DR on 22nd.

I joined a thread on my last cycle and it helped me so much as I am very private with all of this. So I'm hoping to find others to share with again 😊

Not at all girls, but I'm just as bad! I like our wee group.
My clinic is in my work! No escaping. At times it's excellent as don't need to take a lot of time for appointments but sometimes you just can't escape.

Leanne1185 · 31/07/2017 22:51

It's in your work? 😱 U must feel like u can't get away xx

thegamblersmrs · 31/07/2017 22:53

Yep! The next clinic along! Great huh!
It does make it a lot easier for appointments though as instead of having to take time to get changed out of my uniform, and travelling time it's just appointment time.
Think it will be a little weird on ec day especially having the day off sick.

chivintassle · 31/07/2017 22:54

Wow, a lot has happened today. Sorry for not naming individually it's hard on a mobile esp when gone over the page!
Don't worry for having break downs, they are just us being human, maybe more human than others not on a cocktail of drugs mind!!
We were also told Day 3 swimmers best buy day either side is fine 😊
So re 2, we were also told last time that they don't always like putting 2 in, incase it's not perfect in there and you then run the chance of losing 2, whereas if you did 2 ET's on different months then you might have better chance of conditions on one of them. I think they will put 2 in if they are reluctant to freeze them due to quality.
Does watching Usain Bolt for hour and a half class as exercise?!

AFM I had scan today, cyst gone, started buserelin, it's as unpleasant as I remember! I'm not looking forward to the flats and the stresses, looks like EC on 21st. Any that get to day 5 will be PGS tested and all frozen. So no ET for me this month 😬

Floofles · 31/07/2017 23:10

So many messages!!!
I have wanted twins for ages, but cho is right, they try to avoid creating anything more risky than pregnancy is already! There's a standard chance of identical though I guess.
I have my day 7 scan on weds, I really really hope that 1) I'm not overstimulated and 2) I actually have growing follicles. It terrifies me! Also I've lost tack of days, and weds is super soon now! Eek.
Day three swimmers sound good, I was just planning to abstain once they say there's enough follies... but that might be a bit late. I'm sure DH can not-abstain as much as I want him to though!
As for time off I am very very glad it's the summer holidays. But worried about how il cope when I go back (I know that's not a real problem though, I just get really anxious about transitions!)
Chop your clinic sounds similar to mine, are you in the south west?

Floofles · 31/07/2017 23:11

Cho not Chop!

Leanne1185 · 31/07/2017 23:12

Oh I watched usain bolt too so I'd say so...exhausting watching him do all that running😂 Hope u don't mind me asking but what is PGS testing? That's helpful info re 2 embryos thank u xx

Leanne1185 · 31/07/2017 23:12

Be good if we could all meet up in a year with our bambinos eh 🤞🏻😊

ChoChang · 31/07/2017 23:21

No Im in the north west floof, i do like the set up though, its all very calm with it being a standalone fertility centre.

So many with scans on wed, i will be thinking about you all.

Chiv thats more exercise than ive done this week!

That would be ace leanne, heres hoping...

chivintassle · 31/07/2017 23:26

leanne Pre implantation genetic screening. It checks there are the right number of genes, so you can see the quality of the embryos. It screens for chromosome abnormalities (which can effect implantation and miscarriage) chromosome abnormalities increase with age 😬 Helps pick which to go back (assuming more than 1 gets there)
My first round was in the SW floof

BiscuitBill · 01/08/2017 09:17

Morning all! Hmmm it was them who pushed for putting 2 back.. I was just so excited at the thought of twins, I didn't really ask any questions 🤔 maybe I'll ask on Friday!
So much going in this week.. exciting times!!

chivintassle · 01/08/2017 10:37

biscuit I think it depends how many embies they get, and how they progress too. How many follies does it look like you're growing?
On my first round they were going to put 2 in, but didn't get enough that fertilised properly, so put 1 back in on day 2. Think like everything 'it depends' 😂

Floofles · 01/08/2017 11:47

chivin we must be quite close then! I'm in a clinic on an industrial estate - very nice private clinic, but I am nhs (they just happen to be the closest to me!)
I feel like it's sad nhs only fund one round, as they won't justify any of the 'extras' which can help until its failed once, and once its failed them I have to self fund - which is fine but I'd rather self fund the extras now if they'll help and not go through it failing!
I would love to have twins so much, but they will only put in one first time round at my clinic, and then will only put in two if you're over 30 and have no top quality embies, or over 35. So I'm not having twins 😂

thegamblersmrs · 01/08/2017 11:55

We get 2 times up here moving to 3. Postcode lottery.

My DP dad is a twin as is my Gran!

chivintassle · 01/08/2017 12:00

floof I was at bath, and they were lovely, couldn't fault the care at all (apart from BFN), and my new dr said getting 8 eggs out was good given fewer follies. I work in London, so thought it would be easier doing the next round in London, as knew I wanted scratch, pgs and potentially ERA too, hence the move. If you're under 30 your chances are good, so maybe don't need all the extras 🤞

ChoChang · 01/08/2017 12:25

We get 2 funded rounds, although if we lived about 2 miles away that comes under a different CCG we'd only get 1 funded round. Its crazy isnt it.

We have self funded extras this time too floof, seems to make sense to have tests and procedures now and hopefully have sucess than wait and then find out later that there was something that could have helped and then have to self fund. Its all a gamble though really isnt it.

No twins in either mine or DH family so think our only chance of twins would be having 2 embies put back!

Leanne1185 · 01/08/2017 13:04

It seems like there is definitely mixed views on the 1 or 2 embies I think I will bring it up for debate tomo at the clinic! Iv just been out with my pregnant friend who is getting induced on Thursday, weirdly I'm actually really excited for her as she had trouble conceiving so maybe that makes a difference? Xx

BiscuitBill · 01/08/2017 14:42

Leanne my pregnant friend is being induced today, she has also had trouble conceiving so I am very excited too!
Chivin I'm not growing any, mine are all in the freezer waiting! I have 5 left. They only put 1 first time round. I'm 29 so maybe they're thinking I'm nearly 30 so what the heck!
We have self funded due to OH already having a daughter from previous relationship. Other wise we'd get 1 NHS and another 3 through his work! So unfair as it's me with the problems & not him! He has super sperm.. they even managed to fight through my horrendously blocked tubes and find one of my eggs 😂 but MY stupid egg couldn't make it's way back down and decided to get cosy in one of my tubes!

I used to get sad about my BF being pregnant as we would have been only a week apart if my ectopic had been a viable pregnancy. And my other BF is 20 weeks.. the same I would have been if my 1st IVF worked!! I found it very hard to be around both of them for a long time and made me feel so guilty for being a shitty BF!

OP posts:
chivintassle · 01/08/2017 15:47

biscuit that's great that you have 5 in the freezer! 3 through his work, wowsers, that's amazing. Sadly I fear if my work knew all my promotional prospects would go down the drain, along with any bonus! Maybe I should work for his company!!
Ah so you're just getting ready to have a frosty put in?

Well I just had a call from Stork, my drugs supplier, £1,600. Ouch.

BiscuitBill · 01/08/2017 16:11

Haha he's in the marines so I don't think you would want to!!

OP posts:
chivintassle · 01/08/2017 16:21

Ha my DH is ex marine, we are older than you, he left c9 or 10yrs ago. We have friends who have apparently just started TTC same age as us, he's still in, so if they struggle then I'll let them know!

user1496604596 · 01/08/2017 16:30

Hi All, Is anyone at the Hammersmith ? They are suggesting norethisterone (progesterone) priming to start 2wks prior to a cycle that includes gonal & menopur. Anyone on this combination? I have low ovarian reserve

thegamblersmrs · 01/08/2017 16:59

I'm finding all the chat re the extras going private very interesting. I feel quite naive in a way just going with what NHS are telling me which is bare minimal. I hope I don't have to learn from mistakes but if I do I'll know where to come for advice.

Floofles · 01/08/2017 18:11

@gamblers I think about everything as I got given the whole leaflet pack with everything in... But then I just go with whatever they say! I'm not bolshy enough to question their expertise! But as I've never had a confirmed pregnancy I feel like they're being a tad presumptive thinkin that it'll just be ok once they stick in an egg!
I just found out an acquaintance is preg with twins and I'm insanely jealous. Her trying for years doesn't make a difference I'm just grumpy I'm not having one!!!
