Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Good luck today broody!

Ticking hope you don't get OHSS and hope EC goes ok!

Lily35 · 08/05/2017 07:54

Let us know how it goes Broody!
Im on countdown for first Buserelin injection tomorrow woohoo!

tickingcl0ck · 08/05/2017 12:25

Thank you maplebaby just been told we had 11 eggs collected. Waiting for the call tomorrow to check if any have fertilized.

lily as someone who has gone thru the down regulating phase, im excited for you as well as hope you wont bruise much

Can i just ask how many here have done the 5 day ET or 3 day ET?

elle77 · 08/05/2017 12:37

Not sure if this is a problem or not! I'm due to start down regulation injections on Wednesday but feel like AF is coming! I have been taking the pill for 28 days (due to work commitments I needed to extent them by a week). Does anyone know if I can still start injections?

Very excited/nervous reading how everyone is getting on- sounds like I'm the last one to start. It is nice to read about everyone's journey- both physically and emotionally.

Good luck everyone for the exciting week ahead.

flirtygertiefromnumber30 · 08/05/2017 12:43

Hope the scan went OK broody? And congrats on the EC ticking, that's good news! This is our first go but I think they're hoping to do 5 day transfer.

Good luck with your injection today Lily, hope it's all OK.

Lily35 · 08/05/2017 13:12

Elle - definitely call the clinic about that. They should guide you. When should u start AF if you have been on the pill? It may just be symptoms but you won't get it.
You should still get AF when DRing but not till about a week after u start

broodynmoody · 08/05/2017 17:30

Thanks everyone. It was a bit stressful (the clinic database was down and didn't have me on the list) but I like got there in end. Everything looks fine, loads of follicles but that's expected as I have PCO and thin lining. I start the menopaur tonight eek!

maplebaby · 08/05/2017 17:45

Ticking that's great! Hope you aren't feeling too sore - have you got tomorrow off?

Hooray for starting broody! Do you know what dose you are on?

I had a blood test this morning and they've increased my dose to 375iu. Scan and bloods on Wednesday! Bought some arnica cream to help with the bruising too - got one from the blood test today!

blackcherries · 09/05/2017 00:00

Ticking we had a 5 day ET last cycle, and froze 3 blasts at 6 days, one of which should be going back in next week (fingers crossed!). Take it easy the next few days if you can.

tickingcl0ck · 09/05/2017 00:14

Amazing news broody i was on Gonal F and the headaches and fatigue were just something else. This was between day 2-5 of injecting it. Definitely, dont wish that on anyone.

maplebaby i was more naueseated than in pain. I felt like i went on a drinking binge and it was the day after. I was sick for a good 6 hours after they woke me up. My fault as i found out they used an antibiotic i was sensitive to but not allergic to. Nothing would stay down. Even after they gave me meds for the nausea. Not working the week as knowing me, i will overdo it if i get back to work tomorrow. Excited for your scans and bloods too. Looking back on the days events, it was amusing how there were 3 of us taking turns in the bathroom to deal with nausea.

elle agree with lily, hope you gave your clinic a call.

flirtygertie im curious, how many blastocysts are you planning to have transferred? If you dont mind me asking.

broodynmoody · 09/05/2017 08:12

lily good luck with your injection today the buserelin are a lot easier than menopur that's for sure!
blackcherries good luck with your transfer next fingers crossed!
tick I've had no side effects yet but there's still time!
maple I'm on 2 vials of menopaur which I believe isn150 iu. I have PCO so there starting me off on the smallest dose. I have 19 follies on one ovary and 21 on the other!

Lily35 · 09/05/2017 08:53

Thanks everyone - first injection was fine ! I'm finally in the game Grin
Hope everyone is ok?

maplebaby · 09/05/2017 09:54

Glad you aren't in pain but sorry about the sickness ticking! Good plan on having the week off, and fingers crossed for the call today!

Broody I'm on 5 vials Confused of course I'm anxious that they increased the dose and now worrying there are no follicles. Wow all those follies on your ovaries! Hope you don't get OHSS - lots of water and coconut water for you! They didn't tell me how many I had.

TMI but since stimming I have been pooping a lot is this normal!? I wonder if it's all the water etc I'm drinking?

maplebaby · 09/05/2017 09:55

Oops forgot to say hooray for the first injection lily!

flirtygertiefromnumber30 · 09/05/2017 10:53

Hi ticking, our clinic will only transfer one embryo at a time because of my age (I'm 31) and the increased risks with multiple pregnancies. Hope all's going well with your embryos!

broody that sounds very similar to me - 25 on one side and similar on the other! The sonographer actually gave up counting the littler ones yesterday Grin

Congrats on the first injection lily, and glad you're finding it OK! I am HATING mine! Gonal F is OK, it's a pen so really easy to do and no chance of messing up. But I am really struggling to not have lots of air in the syringe with the Cetrotide, it seems impossible to get it out without wasting the liquid Confused

maple I reckon it's probably all the water, yeah!

tickingcl0ck · 09/05/2017 18:07

hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well.

broody gosh thats a lot of follicles! and here I was complaining how huge mine felt...agree with maple, hope you dont get OHSS

lily I thought the buserelin injections would be fine too but oddly enough when I was given the Gonal F I found the needle to be less painful.

maple yeah i had the same too with stimming but now with the cyclogest pessaries, its the other way around ugh...no happy medium

flirty were really keen to have 2 but i think the hospital was also trying to discourage us from having 2 blastocysts implanted coz im 33 and like you said, increases the risk of multiples

got the call today and 7 have fertilised. my stomach is bloated and looks like I swallowed a watermelon. Im glad they measured my waistline before they did EC as Im also using that as a guideline. Hospital said they would call again on Thursday morning to let me know if more than 4 embryos are still viable. If so, they will have me do the 5 day transfer. Otherwise, ive got a provisional appointment on Thursday afternoon for a transfer. sigh its one thing after another...we just have to keep our spirits up

Ash75454 · 09/05/2017 21:21

Lots of new steps for everyone it seems.

Ticking a provisional Thursday that's so exciting. my clinic said to include a 500ml isotonic drink within the million litres of water they recommended after collection and up the protein too. Really helped with the bloating/fluid

Wow broody and flirty hope you are feeling ok so far. Didn't hit your numbers but there were two days really close to EC where I seriously considered dumping my car on the main road just so I didn't have to drive over the speed bumps in our estate! oh the joys of IVF.

flirtygertiefromnumber30 · 09/05/2017 22:10

Ah that's exciting news ticking!

Haha ash I think I might feel the same next week, on day 6 now and feeling a bit uncomfortable!

chivintassle · 10/05/2017 10:48

Well seems like a lot is going on! Apologies if I miss anything!
broody that's a lot of follies! Which scan did they tell you that? Have you got target EC date?
maple I'm bruising with manapur too, likewise I'm on 375, so 3 vials of mixing.
ticking good luck with next few days, 7 seems a good number!
flirty think our timings are close, I started menopur on 3rd so Day 8 for me. Got day 10 scan on Friday.

I'm a little worried as not feeling that much, I'm not that bloated and not uncomfortable. I hope it's all working...
I'm worried that there's not much happening and I'll have no follies. I'm 39. If we get enough then I'll have 2 put in.
Just out of curiosity, how do they chose when to put them in??

flirtygertiefromnumber30 · 10/05/2017 12:33

Hi chivin yes I'm a day behind you then. I'm not especially bloated at the moment either, just feeling a bit uncomfortable and they do seem to be growing so I'm sure you're OK too, try not to worry!

Not sure if it's the same for all clinics but where we are I think it depends how well they're developing which makes them decide whether to put in at 3 days or 5.

broodynmoody · 10/05/2017 12:36

maple i felt a bit the same today in regards of going to the loo Blushit must be all the hormones!
ticking yes i hope i dont get OHSS. Im on a low dose of 150iu.
chivin ive had no EC date as of yet, it was my baseline one. Its around about 22nd.

Those of you who are on the Menopur, did you get air bubbles in it? Im freaking out with worry. Nurse said no air bubbles and it has to be 1 on the syringe, just seems im not doing it right Sad

broodynmoody · 10/05/2017 12:39

chivin they go by the quality of the egg. They prefer to leave them til day 5 the blastocyst stage, apparently they have more chance in implanting, but If they dont think they will last, or the quality is not looking too good, they'll transfer them on day 3 Smile

maplebaby · 10/05/2017 13:14

Broody I do get the odd bubble - but I'm on 5 vials so by the time I've mixed there's only about 0.7/0.8ml in the syringe...

Chivin how odd I'm on 375 but it's 5 vials for me! I'm also not feeling bloated or anything - just can't stop pooping!! Blush

Scan went ok but worrying about numbers! She started talking about my left side having about 4 around the 10mm (or 12mm can't remember!) mark and rest smaller but how it's early so others may catch up. Didn't talk about right but saw on the ultrasound screen she had measured 4. What are "average" or "good" numbers?

chivintassle · 10/05/2017 15:53

maple I'm 2 x 150 and a 75, think blue and purple! What stage scan did they count them for you? I've not had any counting yet!
flirty thanks. I know I'm trying not to worry but it's hard!!
broody I find if you put all the mixture into one of the vials again you can knock the air out of it easier. But if you get too much air out you get left with liquid in the syringe!

I'm going to work from home a few days next week and then try for a Drs letter for the first 5 days off. I work in the city and if they knew about this I'd never get promoted or bonus. And I don't want the pressure and stress of not being home. (I'm in London mon-fri, then Plymouth at the weekends) and clinic in Bath (used to live there!) so I'm going to try and cut the commute and stress out!!
Anyone else taking time off?

maplebaby · 10/05/2017 16:30

Ah ha! That's why chivin all mine are 75! It's day 6 of stims for me. Have another scan and bloods on Friday. When are you in for your scan?

I'm not taking any time off yet - luckily my boss is understanding and the office is very flexible. I will of course take time off for EC and transfer! Gosh lots of travelling for you then!! Probably a good thing to take the time off!
