Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Thanks laurelstar it's given me a bit of hope. I still can't believe it, he could have given me a heads up. No drinking for me now until time of pregnancy test!

Oh broody don't beat yourself up-we are all hard on ourselves and at the end of the day it's nothing we're doing personally just our bodies not working as we'd hoped.

Hope everyone else had a nice bank hol w.end?
Welcome to the newbies!

AFM I was expecting AF on Saturday but still no sign so feeling very frustrated-I have been perfectly regular since my ectopic in November...it's now messed up my planned time off work for EC etc I guess this is just the start of the rollercoaster...

broody don't beat yourself up!! Please don't. If you haven't even had your baseline scan you're golden. You're not even growing the eggs yet. Even if you were further through I really doubt a few drinks would make a difference. Please don't give it a second thought it will have no effect whatsoever at this stage.
That guy is a bastard for telling everyone such personal stuff though. Really horrible :-( I hope you are feeling OK.

blackcherries did your bleed start yet? Last cycle I had, my bleed didn't start til a couple of days after my baseline scan. The scanner wasn't bothered - she said there was a cyst on my ovary and once it burst I would start bleeding. It started a couple of days later and didn't even affect my schedule.

I've just realised my PILs are going to be staying at our house on my testing day. Argh! Was determined not to test early this cycle but looks like I might have to do it one day early so I'm prepared. Nightmare (they are doing a day's childcare for DD so unfortunately can't reschedule their visit!)

moggle Oh yeah my eggs haven't started growing yet lol I was just worrying I think and pissed off. I know I will be pulling him up at some point about it.
Oh that's balls! With your in laws staying over you'll have to put on your best poker face no matter what the result is.
blackcherries I would give it a couple of more days and then if AF still hasn't shown her ugly face then I'd phone your clinic.

I'm waiting for a visit from Aunt Flo myself, then I can book my baseline scan. I'm knicker checking everyday!

Hi ladies, can I be a late comer to the party?

I'm currently taking microgynon and will be starting down regulation injections next week 10/5 (sorry, don't know the acronyms- sure will pick them up as I go along!)

Heading down the ICIS route as poor morphology! Nice to see similar issues and concerns that are driving me crazy!

Is anyone else doing pre-Implantation genetic screening aka PGS with their treatment?

Report
maplebaby · 02/05/2017 19:13

Glad the hen do was ok lily! I have one coming up too but the bride to be is a non drinker so should get away with no drinking!

Welcome laurel! Do you know when you get the results back from the PGS?

Broody that is outrageous that your friend told everyone - how bloody insensitive. I hope you had a word. I'm so sorry Sad like everyone says don't worry - you haven't started stimming yet. I've had a couple of drinks too.

Lilly I think you've already joined haven't you?? Grin maybe it was an accidental post!

Yorkshire perhaps you should do a test...? Is it possible? Has AF come yet?

Moggle I would probably do the same - test the day before!

Welcome Elle to the party no one wants to be at! Good luck with the stabs - not long to wait now!

AFM, AF/withdrawal bleed from the pill started today so I have my baseline scan tomorrow - hopefully get to start stimming tomorrow too!

broody I'm gutted for you that your friend misused your trust. I probably would've burst into tears and walked off, so sounds like you handled it fine. I really don't think a few drinks will harm, eat some extra veg and take extra vitamins! Do the whole I'm disappointed in you when you speak to them.
moggle bad timing but maybe having them helping with your DD will mean less stress and running around for you??
yorkshire has AF arrived yet?
Welcome to new joiners, and good luck!

I had day 0 scan today, 2.6mm apparently and she said looks like they're in control now, and ovaries were hard to see (which she said was good).... then I got the next meds... OMFG the size if the needle! Thank god that's only the drawing needle, but reckon I'll struggle with the injecting one. Not looking forward to 7am tomorrow 😰

Hello chivin, don't worry, as you say that's the needle to mix the powder and solution. The needles you use for your injections are very fine. Most times I hardly felt a thing, honestly!
Thank you maple we have got our PGS results and are waiting for my FET later this month. Not sure what to expect as this is my first time. The consultant says the needles are much larger than for stimulation, eek.
Hi lily did you have PGS last time?
Good luck to everyone!

This is my first cycle so no testing - I would look into it in the future though. My cousin also wants it for her next cycle as she is 42 and wants to put her all into the next go.

Thank you lily. It seems like medical opinion is split over PGS at the moment, although our consultant is a huge advocate for any older ladies or those who have suffered Recurrent Miscarriage (like me)

Welcome elle! We're doing ICSI as well, I've just finished my course of Microgynon at the weekend and now waiting for AF. TMI, but I feel crampy and irrationally angry today so I am sure it's on the way!

Hello laurel too, we're not having PGS this time, its our first cycle so we decided not to.

Hope the injection went OK chivin...I used Menopur a few months ago and found the injections not too bad...obviously it's not exactly pleasant but the needles are super fine so it's more uncomfortable than painful I thought.

Hope everyone else is OK this week too.

maplebaby · 03/05/2017 12:19

Chivin hope all went well this morning!

I just had my scan and lining was thin but I had a 20mm cyst on my left ovary Sad back for a blood test and scan on Friday but if it hasn't gone or starting to collapse I have to postpone for a month. I'm so gutted.

Terrible news maple- hope the scan on Friday brings good news.

Everyone seems to know far more about IVF/ICSI than I've been told- maybe because its our first time I've missed half of the information! Thanks for all the info- it's interesting to read all the different processes and procedures that are available.

Good luck everyone with injections- I look forward to joining you a week today! Lily- I'll be right behind you!

Oh sorry to hear that maple - will keep fingers firmly crossed for Friday for you.

Are you with the NHS elle? I found they didn't offer much info when we went to them originally but I got a lot from the private clinic we're with now. It's all a bit head-spinning though isn't it??

Report
elle77 · 03/05/2017 12:57

No- we are private. Fertility isn't bad enough for NHS!!!!!

Hi all,

Just looking to join you lovely ladies for these next few weeks if I may.

First time IVF, straight up panicker. HA. We are unexplained although I have tubal factors i.e. sluggish tubes (seriously, what now?!) noted from my lap & dye last August. It took me longer than planned to get back on the road to IVF after that surgery but nothing can be as bad surely? (Except self injecting...hummm).

I'm based in Cheltenham so I have the treat of being an NHS patient in a private clinic and we will be travelling to Oxford Fertility Unit for EC & ET - anyone else?

Also is anyone using syrenal nasal spray? I started mine on 22nd April and not due for my baseline scan until 16th May which seems forever away. I've already had my withdrawal bleed. Then Gonal-F 150i.u. from 18th May. Fingers crossed.

I feel like I've missed information somewhere but I've read my IVF pack a million times already. I've not had an appointment to teach me about the injections, kinda need to have one of those. I'm hoping my OH will be around to help me out and not away with work. I have a habit of passing out after injections (low BP that bottoms out whenever it feels like) so really not sure how I will manage to do it on my own.

Apologies, that was an essay! Good luck to you all x

Thanks Elle and flirty. Feeling particularly low as I also failed my driving test yesterday for a stupid mistake! Nothing is going right at the moment AngrySad

Elle I've been absorbing info from the threads I'm on but did have a group session with the hospital which was useful. Nothing about diet etc though. Not sure if they give that to me when I start stimming.

Welcome serena - I'm unexplained too! I've been on norethisterone and buserelin so can't help you with the nasal spray unfortunately. I would check with the clinic re teach unless they are planning to do it when you get your scan? They aren't bad at all but know that is no help to someone who has low BP and history of passing out with them!

Welcome Serena, I'm unexplained too and I have low BP. I'm ok with bloods being taken so let's hope I'm ok with ivf needles. Otherwise I'm screwed ShockHmmSmile

Thank you both Grin

Maple things can only pick up for you. Driving tests are just nerve racking at the best of times. When you have other stuff to think about...urgh! I have just emailed my consultants secretary to ask if I will have any guidance at my baseline scan.

Lily I have quarterly B12 injections, you'd think by now I would be ok. Apparently not Shock. I now walk in to the room and promptly lie myself down. No way do I chance being upright.

My bosses have also just come up with a solution of 50% compassionate leave and 50% holiday allowance for any time off for all of this. Not entirely sure how I feel about that? Maybe they could increase my holiday allowance by a day or two Wink x
