Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Got the info Flirty - thanks! Going to have a read this weekend :)

Yorkshireyogi · 22/04/2017 09:02

Welcome lily, chivin, fluffy!
Lily I had no dietary advice either but I am having first cycle on NHS and they advise based on published evidence, of which there isn't much for dietary therapies. Having said that most wouldn't cause harm and they are relatively cheap so worth a try.
I decided to take inositol, co-enzyme Q10, vit C and zinc and vit D, plus folate obv (feel like I've been taking that forever!)
I've stopped drinking like many of you-but I miss my fri glass of wine!
Got endometrial scratch on mon (my birthday!)-great timing!

Lily35 · 22/04/2017 18:04

Hi yorkshireyogi! Good luck for scratch and happy birthday! I really wanted the scratch but they don't offer on first rounds at my clinic.
I miss my Friday night glass of red! But keep thinking of the end result (fingers crossed) x

Yorkshireyogi · 22/04/2017 20:49

Thank you! Yes I was glad as they are running the trial at my hospital and I was lucky to be randomised to have it-so was relieved! We'll see whether it was worth it I suppose! X

Lily35 · 22/04/2017 21:05

They did the trial at mine too but I got a 'no' unfortunately. I'm at St Marys in Manchester.

blackcherries · 22/04/2017 21:46

I've got a scratch on Monday too... Came here to ask if anyone had any experience of it!

Lily35 · 23/04/2017 20:28

Good luck for yours tomorrow too Blackcherries!
First Yorkshire decaf today - so much nicer than the Tetleys Smile
This weekend seems to have disappeared rather quickly Angry

chivintassle · 24/04/2017 10:16

Good luck to all having stuff done today! Let us know how it all goes.
And happy birthday yorks!!

maplebaby · 24/04/2017 11:20

Yorkshire happy birthday! Cake and a scratch as a birthday treat - lucky you!! Hope it goes well!

Blackcherries good luck with the scratch today too!

Lily glad you liked the tea better than tetleys!

I start buserelin tomorrow!

flirtygertiefromnumber30 · 24/04/2017 20:08

Happy birthday Yorkshire and good luck with the scratch to you and blackcherries, hope it goes OK!

Lily, no probs about the info, hope it was vaguely interesting/useful Grin

blackcherries · 24/04/2017 22:36

Hope your scratch was ok Yorkshire! I barely felt a thing which was nice but felt a bit crampy afterwards. I was expecting more sharp pain. I think (hope) I have a weirdly high pain threshold there though as I read all sorts of horror stories before my HSG and had wound myself right up, and barely felt a thing then too. Maybe paracetamol is more effective than I'd given credit for.

In other news I'm dying of hayfever and have started taking loratidine (Clarityn) but asked the nurse today and she said better not to take it alongside all the other drugs (and probably not 100% approved if pregnancy happens) so going to be suffering a bit :(

broodynmoody · 24/04/2017 23:13

Good luck with the Buserelin tomorrow maple I started mine on Saturday and already getting side effects Sad

Yorkshireyogi · 25/04/2017 09:11

Thanks for birthday messages everyone!
Glad your scratch was ok blackcherries.
I found it a bit painful-more of an odd sensation I suppose-but only for a few mins so no problem-they did it in the egg collection room so I've had a preview of that!
It's odd really-I've had an ectopic previously and had no pain whatsoever with that but have had much more in the way of ov symptoms and pre-menstrual symptoms since so maybe I'm a bit sensitised now!!
Roll on AF!!

maplebaby · 25/04/2017 20:42

Glad the scratch wasn't too bad blackcherries and Yorkshire! Sorry about the hay fever though - do you get it really badly?

Broody oh no! What side effects are you having? I've just done my first stab!!

broodynmoody · 26/04/2017 09:57

maple slightly head achey, and hot flushes but to be honest, it hasn't been too bad! Just few more days of the pill then I'll be waiting for Aunt Flo Grinnever wanted a period so much!

moggle · 26/04/2017 10:21

Oh dear, sorry some of you are getting side effects with the buserelin :-(
It's weird how things change. Since having DD my periods are way heavier, but also way less painful. In fact for the first year after they came back at 4 months they were totally pain free, now I get twinges but nothing worth taking painkillers for. I used to be on max dose of paracetamol and ibuprofen for at least the first three days.

I had my baseline scan on monday and all looks fine, so have started the progynova pills and have another scan next friday. Transfer scheduled for May 15th, we have a little holiday the week before which will be nice.

I went for some acupuncture at the weekend, think the lady was a little disappointed as I have literally zero other health problems or even little niggles. I was just like, I'm fine, just want to get and stay pregnant please! TBH it was nice just to chat to someone as she was doing the treatment. She has a DD the same age as mine. Back again on Saturday morning and then will have treatment before and after the transfer. Bye bye money!! but might as well throw the kitchen sink at this attempt as I think it'll be back to another fresh cycle otherwise.

chivintassle · 26/04/2017 10:44

maple not great sleep, banging head, bad AF (thought was supposed to be better) and a lot more emotional (I almost cried at the London marathon WTF!)
yorkshire blackcherries glad scratches went well.
blackcherries hopefully the hay fever has calmed down with the change in weather?

Has anyone looked at getting the time lapse monitoring? I got a leaflet of it, and looks good but not seen many reviews. Not sure if I can pay extra for it as going through nhs, but thinking about asking at Tuesday appointment.

chivintassle · 26/04/2017 11:39

moggle where are you getting acupuncture done? There are so many places that say they do it for fertility, but I'm just so dubious!

moggle · 26/04/2017 11:58

Just somewhere local to us (Woking). It just so happens that the person I'm seeing this time is Zita West qualified but that wasn't a big deal for me. When we had our fresh cycle and lived elsewhere I had a lovely lady who had never done a fertility related treatment before and it was great. I really wanted to go back to her again but couldn't manage the drive with work and nursery pickups.
If you're keen to have acupuncture I would say rather than looking for 'the best' I think you are better off finding a place where you like the therapist and it doesn't cause you any stress to get there. It's good if they have done fertility stuff before but I don't think it's 100% essential (most will have). Although there's some weak evidence that it helps, I don't think it's strong enough to make it a must have. If you can't afford it then I would say get a relaxation CD and listen to it regularly (I had the hypnotherapy for IVF CD but I think I only listened to it twice!), make the effort to get to bed early at least 3 nights a week, and put an extra portion of veg on your plate every dinner time, that will probably have a comparable effect!

les2chats · 27/04/2017 19:40

Hi Ladies! Mind if I join? I'm new on the forum and starting the process for IVF tomorrow (long protocol at ARGC). Anyone at ARGC on this thread?
Good luck to all!!!

blackcherries · 27/04/2017 22:27

Hello, is this your first cycle? good luck with it.
I'm in the boring zone of taking the nasal spray, got first scan over a week away yet. Can't quite forget as taking the spray every 4 hours but not quite time to start overthinking it all!!

les2chats · 28/04/2017 08:34

Hi Blackchereies! Yes, 1st attempt at IVF, we were supposed to start last September after i did an immunes treatment but, oh surprise, 1st time after 2 years trying and having never seen the faintest bfp, i got naturally pregnant... twice... First one i sadly miscarried at 5w, second one went fine up until 12 weeks which showed a major issue so we had to terminate at 16w :((( Saddest moment of my life!
Now back on the road for ivf, no immunes treatment this time (as my immunes came back normal) which is what i was secretly wishing for as it did the trick last year... So starting nasal spray today and hoping for the best! :)
@blackcherries are you doing your cycle at ARGC? Mind if i ask - you had the scratching before downregulating? Good luck 🍀 ladies!!!

moggle · 28/04/2017 09:27

Hi les2chats !
That must have been awful for you both, I can't imagine, especially having to make the decision to terminate. I really hope that this cycle goes smoothly.
I'm not at ARGC but I had my scratch a few days before I started downregulating.

blackcherries · 28/04/2017 14:36

les2chats that must have been so devastating, I can't imagine.
No I'm not at ARGC. I had the scratch around day 24 in the cycle that I started downregging (so a few days after starting norethisterone and buserelin). I think it's earlier in the cycle at other clinics but not sure it makes much difference, but it should be before the bleed before your 'main' cycle I guess...

Lily35 · 28/04/2017 14:37

Hi everyone
Hope you are all doing ok?
Welcome Les2chats - good luck with your cycle, so sorry to hear about your m/c's :(
I'm chasing yo my drugs at the moment and in for teach next Thursday. First acu session today after a 6 month break.
