Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Great news Karen. Try to get some rest today- good luck for tomorrow.

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 09:57

How was your scan Elle?

79Karen · 14/07/2017 10:26

Elle did you have a day 2 transfer? And yes sorry how was your scan, the last 24 hours have been a bit crazy

79Karen · 14/07/2017 10:29

Sorry Lily no day 2, I think as it's the only one they just want to put it back asap

elle77 · 14/07/2017 11:19

Scan was good! One little heart beat going well!!!

I had a day two transfer as there was no point waiting longer- better get them back in their natural environment.

How is everything for you at the moment Lily?

79Karen · 14/07/2017 11:24

That's great Elle, was that 7 weeks? How have you been feeling?

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 11:30

That's great Elle!

Things aren't great really. Our review meeting yesterday and consultant finally diagnosed my unexplained infertility as having bad quality eggs and the likelihood of IVF with my own eggs being successful is very low. He wants me to do donor eggs. I knew it, it makes sense but hearing DE mentioned this early on has shocked me x

elle77 · 14/07/2017 11:33

Yes- 7 weeks. Feel fine, bloated stomach from the progesterone and the odd feeling of period pains!!! I've had a few waves of 'Oh no I'm going to be sick!' but thankfully it has passed quickly. But don't really feel any different! Had got myself into a bit of a nervous state yesterday trying to prepare myself for the realisation there might be no heart beat- such a relief when you can see it!

Have booked to go back for a 10 week scan too!!!!! I'd be there everyday if I could!

Good luck with all the waiting- its a killer!!

79Karen · 14/07/2017 11:47

Sorry to hear that Lily, it's a difficult one, this whole process really f**ks with your head doesn't it! Did your consultant recommend doing your 2nd NHS round with your own eggs first?

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 11:52

He said we can still take the 2nd round with own eggs but obviously had to tell us that the same thing can happen again.
We have decided to go for it though but leaving 3 months so I can take supplements, eat and exercise well and have the scratch. That way we have at least tried.
I would move onto DE if this doesn't help. As no point throwing money away on my crappy eggs. I've come to terms with that though - at least I can have a real shot at having and bearing a baby :)
The only decision I am fining hard now is do we stay at my clinic or transfer the NHS funding somewhere else to try again? Pros and cons for both
X

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 11:53

Any advice would be great!!!

elle77 · 14/07/2017 12:44

Oh Lily- that must have been difficult news to hear. You seem very up beat with it though. Go for it with the conception supplements and all the advice they can give you. Did you have acupuncture?

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 13:00

I think I'm glad I finally know and also that there are still options. It's been such a long journey that becoming a mum has been important to me and if that means having to do DE now then so be it. I knew there was a reason behind TTC 4 years and having no joy.

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 13:00

Yes I had acu through my last cycle but no supplements.

79Karen · 14/07/2017 13:10

I suppose it depends on the level of confidence you have with your current clinic? If you're happy with them, they'd be in a good position to know how you respond to drugs etc to make the most of your 2nd round. But if you're worried maybe it's worth exploring other clinics and whether they specialise in certain areas? That's if you can transfer?

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 13:15

Yes it's all up in the air - they might refuse to transfer and the private clinic might also refuse to take me if they learn about my eggs.
OH also think new clinic would maybe treat us a bit differently as NHS rather than if we were paying and to stay where we are. Like you say - they know us.
I had great care at my clinic but the consultants were rubbish. I'd want to ask them what meds they would tweak x

Nisha19 · 14/07/2017 13:31

Hi ladies hope we all doing good!

Good news Karen! That's very quick for them to do the embryo transfer.

Great to hear Elle that your scan went well. It must be all exciting to her baby's heart beat.

Sorry to hear Lily I'm sure things will work out for you.

I received the call today from the hospital and two eggs fertilised which I'm so happy and grateful. I was very worried but at ease now. They do the transfer either on day 3 or 5, so not long to go.

79Karen · 14/07/2017 13:51

I'm NHS but the clinic offers the use of private clinics closer to home for scans and consultations etc, with only EC and ET at the main clinic so I've been an NHS patient at a private clinic the past few weeks. I've wondered all along if I was being treated differently but I can honestly say I don't think I was. one nurse didn't know I was NHS until she later looked at my notes to issue drugs.

And that's great Nisha to have both fertilise, I think for me as there is no option of choosing the best they just want to put it straight back in tomorrow

Lily35 · 14/07/2017 22:00

Good luck tomorrow Karen!

79Karen · 15/07/2017 13:20

Thanks Lily. All done, it's a strange feeling isn't it! Feeling a little crampy from it, hopefully will ease off soon. Strangely off to a baby shower this afternoon and we had to stop on the way home to get a present! Very odd buying baby things after our morning experience haha!

Lily35 · 15/07/2017 13:22

Yey! The 2WW starts! It's a mind f@ck! Good luck :) I'm really excited for you !

79Karen · 15/07/2017 13:42

Thanks, I really wasn't sure we'd even get this far so I'm feeling really grateful for that. My test date is the same day we've got my nephews staying for a sleepover but I'll see how the next couple of weeks go as to when we might cave/wait to test.

Lily35 · 15/07/2017 13:47

I felt exactly the same - so very grateful to be given a chance :)
Maybe you could do it the day before? I had my cousin staying on my OTD so I did mine early so I could be prepared for either result x

Nisha19 · 17/07/2017 00:00

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had my embryo transfer today. Excited and nervous same time. 2 weeks wait now, hoping all goes well...

79Karen · 17/07/2017 07:18

Congratulations Nisha, glad it went well. Good luck during the 2WW, I'm looking forward to actually going to work and keeping my mind occupied
