IVF in May/JUNE 2017..cycle buddies!

Hi

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Apart from Vit D and folate, I take an omega 3, NAC and L-arginine too. Though coming off the L-arg cause it's supposedly mainly to help with implantation.

Oh yes I forgot about omega 3 fish oil - I'm taking that too :)

I've not heard of NAC though! I'll have a read up on it.

Just back from my first progress scan, they saw 10 eggs in total but they're a bit small so they've upped my dose a bit, I have another scan on Friday. She seemed confident the extra dose would help them along. I hope so

Brilliant news Karen - what is your dosage now? A lot can happen in a day or 2 so this is really good numbers :)

Thanks Lily they've put me up to 375 on gonal-f so an extra .75 they seemed to think that would do it? She said it was ok but could be better! It's like being back a school haha!

Karen I'm sure I heard folks say heat was good and helped them grow so stay nice and cosy. 10's a good number did they tell you much about the sizes?

I've had a warm bath and am now sat with socks on and a blanket over me might try the hot water bottle tomorrow. She didn't say sizes exactly but she dotted them on a graph which had (I think ) a 10mm line and said they'd like them to be above that line by now but mine were just under. I hope they have a growth spurt. I nearly said well I'm only 5'1" I always say stupid things when I'm nervous!!

Chinese doctor I was seeing recommended heat, he said women who wish to conceive should only eat and drink hot food.
I'm doing the porridge/soup/hot dinner diet after my prostap injection on 20th July.

Hot food that's interesting. It was December when we collected so was def on the porridge, wrapping up and hot comfort food.

Karen I don't remember my facts but know most mine were smaller than hoped at first scan and we got there just fine. I was also on 375 gonal f

Thanks for asking Lily yes I do at lunchtime. Feeling pretty nervous really hoping there's been some good growth. I'm taking the aches and pains I have as a good sign something has been going on in there.

That's great you can try again so soon, will you begin down regging on your next cycle?

I have my review on Thursday to confirm protocol and all being well will DR next cycle!

That's great Lily that time will fly by. Make the most of being able to have a little drink in this nice weather. I've really missed having a social drink

I definitely will! I gave up for 3 months for my first cycle and it didn't do any good!! So this time I am allowing myself the odd wine until stims :)

Scan was better today, follies growing now, 3 very nearly 18mm and 3 just behind. I have another 4 smallies, 1 or 2 might catch up. So stims to Monday and final scan, likely EC next weds. That'll be 14 days of stims but they weren't bothered by that and said it didn't indicate a problem

This is my first cycle of IVF. I went for 9 days scan today, the found my right ovary with 4 follicles and the left ovary with nothing at all. They have told me to continue with the injections as the follicles are not grown to the right size. I'm very anxious at the moment hoping my left ovary would produce some eggs. I have now got to go back for another scan on Monday. Finger crossed it will be all ok.

Glad it was better Karen! So much can happen over just a few days, plus you don't want your larger ones to get too large either so it's sounds like it's all going to plan!
Welcome Nisha - it's only day 9 so they will keep stimming you till you have a few follies. Good luck - sounds like you are doing ok on that ovary. Remember it's quality over quantity

Hi Nisha I had a similar thing, went in on Monday and whilst I had a few follies they we smaller than they should be. They upped my dose of gonal-f and been back today and it's much better. Fingers crossed yours will have a spurt over the weekend. Did they up your meds?

They told me to continue with the same dosage for Merional which is 225 IU. I have to continue with it till Monday and they will scan me again. It looks fine just that I don't have many follicles as I expected to have. I don't have any side effects, no aches or pains so was wondering if the medication is working.

Hi Ladies, feel like I've been missing for ages! New posts stopped popping up on my email!

Everyone seems to be progressing well. Karen- its good news that they adjusted the meds to give you the best chance. They changed my stim drug mid way through and did an extra day to help me.

Lily- when do you think you'll be starting again? Is everything in place ready?

Nisha- I have a similar problem with one ovary seeming to do all the work and the other produced 1 small follicle! As long as you get some I suppose it doesn't matter where they come from!

Ash- how are you doing? How far along are you?

Ash/Gambers Mrs- I also read something about only eating hot food but in this weather I don't think I could face it!

AFM- still waiting! Feels like all I do! Have a scan on Thursday so hope to know more!

I'm doing good 9.5 weeks now and next scan booked for Tuesday week the 18th. Some of us also kicking about a 'pregnancy after IVF' board in the pregnancy section.

Hi, thanks for asking Ash today was good my follies have finally grown well, got a couple of 20+ and the rest not too far behind, also had 2 others spring into life so EC will be Thursday and trigger tomorrow just to hopefully give those 2 a chance. My lining is good too. I came out a little shocked I'd prepared for the worst and they were actually very positive. Fingers crossed for Thursday.
