Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Lily that's come round so quickly (probably not for you) good luck, it's fine to feel nervous, I'm feeling the nerves build again before I start dr next Sunday, I've still got a week till I even start! I need to calm down!

79Karen · 03/06/2017 19:36

And yes the whole NHS funding is ridiculous, if we lived just 200m east we'd be in Essex where we're told they have stopped funding completely it's a real postcode lottery and it shouldn't be.

Lily35 · 03/06/2017 20:40

To be honest it was a right shock as I'm only day 10 of stims - I just assumed I'd carry on for at least another 4 days!
I'm looking forward to a lay in tomorrow without an injection alarm!! Whoop!

Macarena1980 · 03/06/2017 23:36

Hi all, I'm a bit late but hope you don't mind me joining in, I'm on my first ivf cycle and had egg retrib yesterday. We had 10 follicles and collected 10 eggs which I was reasonably happy with, however got the call today to say that only 3 got fertilised, despite the eggs being mature and having a good sample. Anyone in a similar situation? Xx

Ash75454 · 04/06/2017 09:14

Welcome macarena

lily I had exactly the same fears re the glass vials. This process is so stressful anyway and then on the most important injection they add those thoughts!
I read and re read the instructions and also watched a video I found on line a few times then gave all those instructions to my husband and made him do it ! Smile. It was obviously all fine. Good luck with it.

Karen wow I didn't appreciate there were parts of UK where NHS didn't fund at least something!

Ash75454 · 04/06/2017 09:19

Also ticking that's interesting about the progesterone. Will def do a little research and talk to consultant about that now.

I also take a Clexane jab daily ( a blood thinner) and people seem to stop that at different times too. I've heard of people stopping after implantation or 3 months or being on them to full term. Need to see what I can find. Anyone else taking?

Atikakck · 04/06/2017 09:31

Still sum hope left... Nd finally a found put ma blood test numbers. 1758 is dat okay for a single?

elle77 · 05/06/2017 15:17

Hi everyone, so much has been going on! Congratulations and commiserations to those at the end of the 2ww. Really sorry to those who know or feel that this was not the one.

Everyone else going through the process- good luck with what ever stage you are at.

I've been missing for a while (on a hen do last weekend) then I got back to my first scan on Wednesday and found that my follicles were not really growing and the potential for 10 of them was not happening (only 3 looked like they were even interested). So a change in drugs and quiet a few worried days later, my scan today showed 5 good sized follicles with the potential for another one! So I'm on stims for another day with EC moved to Thursday. The relief this morning was over whelming.

Lily- hope today was successful and you are feeling ok.

Good luck everyone.

Lily35 · 05/06/2017 18:06

Ah Elle, sounds like you had a nightmare! How was the hen do, did you get away with not drinking or did you have to tell people?

Sorry to hear about your response but sounds like you are on right track now! It's a complete worry all of this.

We went in today for EC and that was a shock that it happened so soon but I was at risk for OHSS so I get it.

I got 8 eggs today so I'm ok, scared of the fertilisation results now. Really scared. OH also panicking cos he did his sample and he said there wasn't much and he doesn't know why (TMI) but embryologist seemed happy to continue with standard IVF.

Sedation from amazing - I slept all the way through. But I had a reaction to the drugs and not enough anti sickness so I vomited everywhere! Lols! She said it sometimes happens and it just happened to be me ha ha. Everyone else was fine and up and out. And there's me throwing up my tea and toast.

79Karen · 05/06/2017 18:42

Well done Lily sorry you were sick. 8 is a good amount, I hope they are fertilising as we speak 😀. Was the sedation similar to a general?

Hi Elle I'm pleased they were able to manage your stims to increase your numbers, good luck for Thursday.

Atikakck what and anxious time for you, I can't help with the numbers I'm afraid, what did the nurse say?

Lily35 · 05/06/2017 19:04

Yes very similar procedure and I went straight out with the sedation like I did with GA. I have a vague recollection of my leg being put into stirrups but that's it! I woke up in recovery and initially felt fine ! With the GA I didn't like the tube they put down as it made my throat sore but with sedation you don't have that x

Atikakck · 05/06/2017 19:26

79Karen - first she asked wats happen so a told her dat wen a woke up nd went toilet everything was okay then a started felt lyk period under ma stomach on left nd ryt side (a always feel dat wen am abt to bleeding) BT then a tort a cnt bleed cz am pregnant duhhh. Went toilet nd der it's started Lil bit pinkish/redish blood still had pain. So a got panic fast Rang ma clinic BT dat was Sunday nd am at Halifax hospital BT doctor sed der is no1 so app
for monday. Wen a went today nurse asked wats happen so a told her started female light bleeding nd just in few minutes it's got heavy, same time passed abt two clots with was size of egg.... So she sed dat am 5 week pregnant we cnt do scan cz it's to early nd our normal scan app it's on the 12th BT she sed we cn do normal pregnancy test nd we will c, if it's negative we will knw all gone BT if it's positive der still hope. Nd den we will cn c on scan wats happen cz dat cud b anything.. Awww dat was rly scary a wish no ov u guys experience dis.. BT thankfully test show positive BT maybe ma pregnancy hormones just dropping down low... Ma bleeding stop last nyt b4 bed time till now a hv just lyk spotting, BT as a sed a asked nurse abt ma blood test numbers, a transfer only one embryo BT from.one embryo cud b twins nd nurse sed ma numbers was rly strong cz 1758 is dat numbers for twins den?

broodynmoody · 05/06/2017 22:56

Atikak, I would get a second opinion. If someone haa miscarried (or had a abortion) the pregnancy hormone is still in their system for days. I would push for a scan

Atikakck · 06/06/2017 08:28

Broody - a asked for a scan BT She sed a cnt cz it's just 5th week nd nuffin will show, ma scan is on Monday.. A did bleed at 10h nw it's just all De tym brown discharge.. Nd ma breast still sooo hurt

moggle · 06/06/2017 12:55

Atika I think the nurse is right that until 6 weeks you wouldn't see anything on the scan anyway. However she is wrong about the pregnancy test - you will still show a positive pregnancy test for a while even if it is a miscarriage as the levels get pretty high in the week or 2 since test day, and it takes a while for them to come down to below pregnancy test level. So a simple urine test will not tell you much.
I would push for HCG blood tests, you need two tests a day or two apart, as that will show if the numbers are still increasing, or are going down, that should definitively tell you if you are miscarrying. Are you NHS patient? You might be able to get the blood test done privately if they outright refuse, at our clinic it is £50 for a HCG test, not sure if that is an option for you.

I would say though, it sounds like quite a short bleed to be a miscarriage even that early, especially if you are still on progesterone? I miscarried at 5 weeks to the day last August and even once I came off progesterone the red clotty bleeding went on for a full week and then I had a week of brown stuff. I had to have blood tests to confirm, the urine tests were still positive for a while after.

I really hope it's not the end for you. If you google you find lots of stories about women who had awful bleeding throughout pregnancy even early on. My SIL is one of them, I can't remember how many times my brother drove her to the early pregnancy unit over her pregnancy and my niece is a gorgeous little 18mo now. So it is possible things are still OK. I hope you find out sooner rather than later, I don't think your clinic is being very helpful :-(

I had a scare on sunday night, woken up by DD at 2:30 am I went for a wee before going in to her room and was bleeding, bright red. Obviously didn't get any sleep afterwards and then spent the day feeling really sick - DH had to take the day off - thought it was morning sickness but think it may have actually been a stomach bug as today I feel still queasy but nowhere near as bad. But fortunately the bleeding stopped almost immediately and hasn't recurred so fingers crossed it is all OK.

Lily hope you get good news about fertilisation!

Lily35 · 06/06/2017 13:19

Moggle that's so scary! Hope you are ok.
Atik fingers crossed you are ok - I really feel for you at this time

AFM
I got 5 fertilised eggs from my 8. 2 were immature and one didn't fertilise (little bugger). I'm so so pleased with the number. I think that call was the worst to wait for! Still feel nervous Thurs when I find out if I can have day 3 or 5 transfer. I'll be happy with either - I'll just be happy to have a transfer

Lily35 · 06/06/2017 13:19

Elle - how was your scan today?
