We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

DH told PIL about the ivf and their only response was "we don't want to hear about anything medical" Sad

angelazul · 22/06/2017 15:25

Great news that you're getting started gee

How insensitive just Angry

Just got my appt in for genetics testing (my dad has lynch syndrome, which drastically increases life time chance of certain cancers). Actually feel sick at the thought of it Sad But much better to get it over & done with

justtheonethen · 22/06/2017 16:09

gee that's the spirit!

angel scary but knowledge is power.

I know, fuckers!

geeup · 22/06/2017 19:13

That's awful just. People are so closed minded. Bet they wouldn't care about getting "anything medical" if they had cancer or heart disease or a broken leg.
Angela - good luck. Defo better to know.

justtheonethen · 22/06/2017 19:19

Well quite gee and as we have had to listen in detail to their many medical woes I am fuming/heartbroken they don't care.

bluebird3 · 22/06/2017 20:20

That's so rude just. Can't believe they said that. My dpil don't understand ivf and after I explained it my dmil had a quiet word with me and told me I needed to go teetotal for a while if I was trying to get pregnant. Like that would solve everything.

angel I'm sure it's scary but good for you for getting it done. Then you can know where you stand and put into any precautions if you need them.

gee that's amazing! I think it's quite exciting to get going after so many months of no action. Best of luck!

As for me...I've had really weird, very sharp, intense pains in my womb on and off all day. So painful I would have to double over and it took my breath away. They only last a couple of seconds then go. God knows what this means. Feeling down that things down there are in so much turmoil...

blue ditto the pain. Dragging type sharp pains that take my breath away.

angelazul · 22/06/2017 22:23

Just & blue fx it's just those embryos getting nice & cosy!!!

geeup · 23/06/2017 08:36

Sounds like implantation to me!

bluebird3 · 23/06/2017 12:40

I hope so gee. I didn't have these last time, only some af type cramping but that was nearer to OTD. My OTD is Wednesday. Can't decide if I want to test them or wait till the weekend when I'm off work. Maybe I'll just test in the evening. Can't face testing and then going in to work if it's bfn. When is your OTD just?

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 13:40

Mine isn't until the 2nd Shock. As if I'll be able to wait that long!

Hope it is gee!

justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 13:41

Definitely don't test then go to work. I would test in evening.

geeup · 23/06/2017 13:55

You could always collect your fmu but not test with it until the evening?

justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 14:00

or test Tuesday evening

geeup · 23/06/2017 14:05

I first caved and tested at 5dp5dt on my first cycle.

justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 15:30

I will too, it's 10dpo in old money

bluebird3 · 23/06/2017 16:12

That's seems ages just! My clinic is 9dp5dt and then 11dp5dt to confirm. So first date is wed. I think I will do as gee suggested and collect fmu and test in the evening.

Last time I tested 7dp5dt and 8dp5dt and both were -. I thought that would make OTD easier but it didn't as I still held out hope it was too early so I don't think I will test early this time around. We're going away this weekend so that will distract me (hopefully)!

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 17:49

9dp5dt seems more sensible

justtheonethen · 23/06/2017 17:49

Mine just say 16 days after ec Shock

justtheonethen · 26/06/2017 13:57

So I tested early at 5dp5dt and I got a bfp! I'm totally in shock! Did a clear blue digital and when it popped up 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' I nearly fell off the loo!

Fingers crossed it sticks.

geeup · 26/06/2017 13:59

Wow! Congratulations just. It works!!!

justtheonethen · 26/06/2017 14:01

It works!!!! That's all I keep saying. It fucking works! Whatever happens now at least it works!!!

angelazul · 26/06/2017 14:31

Eeeek just you're pregnant!!!!! So blooming excited for you, massive congratulations StarStarStar

NoImBridgetJones · 26/06/2017 16:57

Congratulations!! (I'm a long time lurker on this thread) Delighted for you! Starting my ivf cycle July/Aug, so very heartening indeed to know it works Smile Sincere congratulations!

justtheonethen · 26/06/2017 17:02

Thank you all. I'm so delighted. It feels a bit unreal after 3 years.
I hope you all get your bfp soon too. Keep the faith!
