We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Gee that must've been very difficult, well done for holding it all together Flowers

Fx for good news blue & just

geeup · 17/06/2017 09:04

My clinic told me to do cyclogest in the back door so haven't tried it in the front! I didn't have any leakage but timing it was trickier. The one first thing in the morning had to be done after my morning poo but sometimes I hadn't been before I needed to go to work. All very Blush

justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 10:09

Mine says vaginally! So weird the different advice x

justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 10:10

Ignore the kiss Blush

Back door is less messy apparently which is appealing Grin

justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 13:55

angelazul · 17/06/2017 15:20

Yay fantastic news just!!!!

bluebird3 · 17/06/2017 15:42

Great news just

Bad news for me I'm afraid. Out of the 10 only 2 are where they should be and 3 others are struggling but still developing. They gave me the option of putting the two in today or risk waiting until Monday to see if either make it to blast. They said that the chances of them developing further are pretty much the same in the lab or in me, so there is no real advantage to putting them in today. The advantage of waiting is to see if they do both make it to blast then we could put one in and freeze one and know which looks better. We decided to wait till Monday as if they are going to stop developing then we will at least know on Monday rather than having a two week wait and postponing the disappointment. Not sure I made the right choice but it's done. I don't know why my embryos don't develop properly. Sad

Sorry blue. Think I would have made the same decision too. I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Our 2ww will be the same as I'll most likely have a 3 day transfer on Monday too.

geeup · 17/06/2017 18:39

Sorry to hear that blue and sorry to be like a broken record but "it only takes one". You see stories on here all the time about someone who only had one embryo and that's now their ds/dd. Fingers crossed for you.
And good news just. Hope they keep that top record!

Jamon · 17/06/2017 18:53

Sorry blue Sad sounds like the sensible decision to me too.

What's all this about putting stuff up your bum? IVF is full of surprises Hmm

Great news just 👍🏼

justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 19:27

Grin painkillers for egg collection and progesterone pessaries for after. The glamour!

bluebird3 · 17/06/2017 21:20

The pessaries can go up front door or back door twice/day from egg collection to 12 weeks pregnant. Yep. 12 weeks. Another lovely thing about ivf.

Sorry it wasn't better news blue, keeping everything crossed.

Finally getting round to reading It Starts With The Egg. Anyone else read it? Just finished the first chapter about bpas & it's scared the shit out of me. Dunno if I want to read anymore Hmm

geeup · 18/06/2017 10:03

I read it to angela. It's pretty overwhelming if you try and do everything. The only things I managed to implement realistically are:
Checked my Tupperware and bobble water bottle were bpa free
Chucked out all the old takeaway containers I used to keep left overs in
Don't heat up food in plastic (always put on a china plate)
Take ubiquinol
I haven't managed to avoid touching receipts Hmm but I feel a bit guilty now when I inevitably do!
I still wear nail varnish etc - it really can't make that much difference considering how many other people get and stay pregnant I figure!!
Interested what everyone else did if they read it.

justtheonethen · 18/06/2017 10:37

I think the book is fab for vitamin advice and specific issue advice but I'm sorry I can't get on board with the bpa thing. I think infertility is riddled with guilt and this only makes it worse. Ultimately it will be a very small proportion of people who are actually affected by it if it has an affect at all! I don't think I've actually seen a study that definitely says it does anyway. It might, but then so might pollution. I can't get by without touching plastic/receipts/the inside of tins!

geeup · 18/06/2017 16:46

Agreed.

bluebird3 · 19/06/2017 07:43

I began retreading that book yesterday. Read it over a year ago before we knew we had any fertility issues and ended up not doing anything. Now I'm going back through to see what supplements and things I should try. It is probably all crap but what have I got to lose? Still waiting to hear if any of my embryos made it to blast. I'm extremely anxious and feel like there's no way that one of the two could have made it. Expecting a phone call before 9am probably. I just want to know!!!!!

Crossing my fingers for you blue!

justtheonethen · 19/06/2017 08:31

Just came on to say I'm thinking of you blue. Also waiting for the call. The wait is awful.

Things I take based on the book-
Vit e - lining
Coq-10 - egg quality
Vitamin c 1000mg - egg quality
Vitamin d- all round fertility boosting

Used to take maca but it made me too hyper!

Although I only got 4 eggs so don't listen to me!

justtheonethen · 19/06/2017 09:19

All still looking good so waiting until Wednesday to do a blast transfer Smile

angelazul · 19/06/2017 13:05

Fab news just StarStar

I've been going to acupuncture for about a year & been taking supplements she recommended. I think I have about 8 different ones I take each day Shock There's vit d, vit c, ubiquinol, omega 3, prenatal multi vitamin, probiotic, agnus castus & maca root. DH is 3-4 daily supplements as well. Obviously it hasn't helped me get pg yet, but I've def seen an improvement in my cycles.

bluebird3 · 19/06/2017 14:20

Fab news just!

We had good news today too. 1 blast looking really good and 1 looking ok are both now on board. I'm still disappointed hat we didn't have any to freeze but really happy this cycle wasn't a bust before transfer.

I'm only only folic acid and vitamin d. Will look into the extra supplements if this cycle doesn't work out.
