We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Actually when I buy alcohol free bears he doesn't mind them if no other option's available! Also tried decaf and he didn't notice as well! Good tips! He drinks lots of coffee at work though.. but one thing at a time! I got him a vape, he loves it but it's more of a fun thing that he doesn't do much at the moment. Refused today to go and see friends as they will be drinking and it will be hard for him not to.

Viletta · 14/06/2017 20:19

ScottishJaggyNettle · 15/06/2017 18:38

Blue Thats Fantastic! :) Grin

angelazul · 15/06/2017 18:49

Fantastic news Blue Star Star

DH's issues is more about not eating enough fruit & veg - maybe I need to try figure out a way to disguise veggies to get him to eat them Grin

Pain is almost gone now & af coming to an end, but still feel exhausted. GP appointment on Monday afternoon, bit concerned about the pelvic pain so want to get it checked out.

geeup · 15/06/2017 19:22

Sorry not posting much at the mo. Downregging so very dull bit!
Angel - use some veggie smuggling ideas. Blend loads of veggies for pasta sauce, make soups or stews, bit salads with lots of roasted veg and chicken in (men like "stuff" in their salads I find), cut down meat in stuff like bolognaise and add more veggies. Good luck!

Jamon · 15/06/2017 19:37

Did I share my new podcast find on here?

If not it's called IVFML, produced by Huffington Post.

A very honest look through a couples eyes going through it. Very American but I found it informative and emotionally useful.

ScottishJaggyNettle · 15/06/2017 20:07

I completely agree with geeup "stuff" i couldnt help laughing. Well today for dinner i made a pretend "unhealthy" "burgers and chips" and a beer for DH and he never batted an eyelid.

Mince, onion, grated broccoli and carrot & finely chopped cellery (Loads of it) bit of flower and fried with loads of lettuce ,cue cumber and spring onion and a nip of extra mature cheese and shit tones of paprika.
Oven chips with paprika and a bit of salt. (Better than frying chips)
Salad on the side with veggies.
Alcohol free beer (He knew)

Im quite lucky i suppose DH eats loads of veggies and fruits.

And he said thanky you sweetheart for breaking your diet today! Looks like the most content man on the planet. I do love him. Usally it's meat (chicken mostly) and veggies, Salad's , Soups very obvious healthy foods (todays a treat day).

Let us know how you get on at the GP Angel.

geeup · 15/06/2017 21:13

I generally cook out of one of Joe Wicks body coach recipe books, the low carb section. Chicken/steak/fish with veg. Really tasty. Would recommend.

justtheonethen · 16/06/2017 11:53

Egg collection done. Only got 4 eggs which is depressing but also the best we could hope for, every follicle had an egg in it. DH sperm sample is now totally normal and so they are just going to do normal ivf rather than ICSI which is brilliant and shows what diet/less alcohol/no smoking/vitamins can do!

bluebird3 · 16/06/2017 12:05

Well done just. Fx that everything goes smoothly over the next few days. I'm finding this waiting the hardest. That's great about your dh's sperm. Just goes to show how lifestyle changes can work. How are you feeling after the ec? I'm not too sore but my dog jumped on my stomach while I was sleeping and I let out the biggest yelp. Apparently being basically punched in the ovary shows I am still sore!

justtheonethen · 16/06/2017 12:09

Thanks blue, feel a bit sore but not too bad. The waiting is horrendous. Ivf is just a lot of waiting isn't it!

angelazul · 16/06/2017 17:40

Just everything crossed for you!!!

geeup · 16/06/2017 19:12

Oh god. I just met up with a friend to have a cuppa. It took her a year to have her first so I have previously confided in her about how we're struggling. Was expecting to have a bit of a mope with her but she had some news - she's pregnant... with twins. She's understandably shocked and worried as she only wanted two children and was worrying about having to move house, can't afford private school etc and I tried to support her and say the right thing. BUT all I was thinking is how jealous I was and how I would give my right arm for one baby let alone two. This is all soooooo hard.
She's a lovely person and did say I'm sorry should I have not said anything but she's clearly in shock so I don't hold it against her at all.
And all while I'm going through ivf too. It's just horrific. I'm numb.

Jamon · 16/06/2017 19:56

Gee you seem to be bombarded with baby bombs, I'm so sorry as they are really hard and especially when you are hoping to chat with someone going through the same thing as you. How is she suddenly pregnant with twins, just naturally or is she on clomid or having IVF? Lucky her, either way. Hope you're okay xx

Fx just and great news re the sperm

bluebird3 · 16/06/2017 20:56

gee I'm so sorry. What a shitty baby bomb right in the middle of your ivf cycle. I know friends can't help getting pregnant and wanting to talk about it. It's bad enough if they are happy, but to be anything less than ecstatic seems so unfair. Sending hugs.Flowers

No just natural and lucky jam. Just had dinner with my 4 best girlfriends. 2 preggo and 1 on Mat leave. Have to be grateful though. The other girl is single and I know would dearly love to meet someone and have kids so I should count my blessings.

justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 08:00

gee Flowers

Can we just talk about how disgusting cyclogest is? I think I need to invest in some panty liners

Also, stupid question, when I wee there is some in the loo. I assume that's just the coating? I waited an hour after putting it in.

Feeling sore after egg collection. Waiting nervously for them to call.

bluebird3 · 17/06/2017 08:27

just yes...cyclogest is gross! I also have some leak out and in the loo. I think it's normal. My clinic said you can put it in the back door and there won't be any leakage but I can't bear to. I just use a pantyliner and tried to stay laying down for an hour if I can. It's a good excuse to get out of cooking tea....oh sorry honey, I can't get up for at least an hour! I'm also nervously waiting for my clinic to call. They said before 10am but I have to leave for work at 9 so hoping they ring before then! Fx we both get good news.

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 17/06/2017 08:38

Got everything crossed for us both!
Back door not appealing after yesterday's volterol suppository Blush. Also apparently it makes you more constipated that way!
Good call. Will just lounge around Wink
