We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Oh yes, acupuncture too Wink

Fantastic blue StarStar

Just been to see GP. She's diagnosed upper uti & doesn't think there are any gynae problems, just a case of uti exacerbating period pains. Have antibiotics so hopefully they'll sort me out. She also said I seem to have some inflammation around my stomach - gave me tablets for this, but when I got home & checked info leaflet it said not to take if trying to get pg (which I told her I was) Confused

justtheonethen · 19/06/2017 20:55

Ouch angel. My GP did that, he referred me for ivf then prescribed me a painkiller for my back problem at the same appointment. When I got home I read the leaflet and it says 'do not prescribe unless patient on birth control. Causes birth defects' HmmShock

Hi, can I join? We're not strictly starting IVF or similar yet, but I do feel I need the support of others in a similar ttc place.

Welcome sooz. I'd definitely chase up your new gp as soon as you can. You really should be referred to a fertility clinic to speak to a specialist to see what the next steps are. GPs don't seem to know that much when it comes to fertility. And to be fair they aren't speacialists but they should be referring you on to get a specialist opinion.

angel that sounds awful. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hope everyone is ok, I haven't been on for a few days as just trying to process everything. I have my scan date to make sure that everything has cleared following my miscarriage later this week. I also visited my GP last week to find out what to do about the tests we'd had lined up but then cancelled due to me being pregnant. In our area, we no longer qualify and will have to wait another year before they'll consider doing anything.

I probably won't be on this thread again as we're now not 'moving on' to anything, just more trying and waiting.

Thanks all for making me so welcome, and good luck to everyone - I hope everything works out for you all x

justtheonethen · 19/06/2017 22:38

Oh vox that is so sad. What an awful rule. Wish you all the best Flowers

Welcome sooz Smile

SoozC · 19/06/2017 22:43

Vox, that's a hard thing to deal with, I'm sorry. Flowers

Thank you for the welcomes. It really does help to know there are others out there.

blue, yeah I felt let down but as we're moving in a month or so I left it. I like to think the move and also getting married over the the summer will take my mind off ttc and I'll fall pregnant naturally but I know better!!

justtheonethen · 20/06/2017 08:22

Hi harry! Sorry you're here but at least we have the option of treatment. That's what I keep telling myself, it's fucking depressing though!

Sunshinegirl2015 · 20/06/2017 10:27

Morning everyone. I've been a lurker on the conception forum for a while but have finally taken the plunge and moved over here.

We've been TTC since December 2014 Sad

We've had all the tests offered to us and have been told it's unexplained sub fertility.

Just been to GP to say we've been trying for over 2.5years what is the next step to be told that where we live, NHS guidelines say they can't do anything or refer us until we've been trying for over three years. GP suggested we go private and told us to expect to pay upwards of £200 just for a consultation appointment.

Massive kick to the gut and feeling very down this morning.

Welcome sunshine, 3 years that's nuts Shock

bluebird3 · 20/06/2017 22:17

Welcome harry and sunshine!

vox that seems really unfair. Good luck and hopefully you will get another bfp soon. Hope you're taking care of yourself. Flowers

just good luck for transfer tomorrow!

I'm feeling a bit sad today. One of my best friends was ttc for over 3 years and got her bfp finally. She found out that the baby had medical complications and over a month and lots of doctors visits they worsened and the baby had passed away. She then had to be induced as she was well into her 2nd trimester. It's awful on its own but her db and dsil are also pregnant and due a few weeks before so she has to contend with that as well. Life is so unfair.

angelazul · 21/06/2017 08:35

Oh blue that really is so sad & so unfair Flowers

Just today's the day right? Best of luck, I hope it all goes well for you.

justtheonethen · 21/06/2017 15:54

I have one on board, and two in the freezer! The last one might be able to be frozen but will see tomorrow.
I'm delighted!

geeup · 21/06/2017 17:25

Congrats just. What a great result!

angelazul · 21/06/2017 18:00

Totally amazing news just, I'm so so pleased for you. Def a case of quality rather than quantity StarStarStar

bluebird3 · 21/06/2017 19:00

That's great just. Fx for you!

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 21/06/2017 19:25

Thank you all. It's totally surreal. The one that is in is a 4A so great quality!
The frozen ones are 4B so still good.

I suspect I'm going to go mad with the wait!

geeup · 22/06/2017 10:40

Hi all CD1 here - was very happy to see AF after last month's weird and delayed period. So baseline scan on Monday and should start stimming Tuesday. Hurrah. I'm off!

justtheonethen · 22/06/2017 11:14

Yay gee! Feeling ok about it all?

geeup · 22/06/2017 14:54

Yes feeling weirdly happy. Was so worried AF would be late or I'd have another week of brown blood (sorry tmi) before my actual period. I was really worried about lining issues and getting dates wrong etc. Just feeling positive now about getting going and hoping this is the one. The cycle. The start of our baby...
