FET Sept/Oct

Hi ladies,
I am due to start an FET in Sept/Oct and wondered if anyone else was too?! Had my first cycle of IVF in August but due to fluid in my uterus and thin lining had to freeze everything. I seem to always have fluid mid cycle, including natural cycles. Very worried that it will always be a problem and will never get to use my embryos. Having a hysteroscopy the week after next to check incase anything in there but doc suspects not. Would be great to have a few buddies! xxx

Ah congratulations Bear!

And thanks for being so lovely ladies

Quick update - much more promising appt yesterday.

Last Weds : oestrodial 89
This Weds : oestrodial 5758

Thanks to 6 decent follicles giving a lining of 8.2mm 😱

He took loads of measurements at different magnification, going 3d, checking blood flow etc and said he measured it at the fundus where the coil wasn't affecting the shape of the uterus or touching the lining, so he thought it was a true measurement

Trigger on Fri, eggs go pop on Sunday (can't believe we just let 6 good eggs go to waste.....!) and shit myself for 2 weeks waiting for a period to see it I get a bleed. Period would be due around Xmas day. Obviously. FFS.

Have another Gonal-F pen to start stabbing on day 4 of next cycle, lather rinse repeat....

bananafish81 · 08/12/2016 07:25

PS I started the pregnancy after infertility thread when I was pregnant because I felt out of place with the normal preggos. Obvs I left when I miscarried, but I'm so glad it's still going strong x

Lolly2803 · 08/12/2016 07:53

Omg banana!!! That's amazing!!! What an absolute turn around. I bet your dr was dancing around his office!!
What a bloody rollercoaster you're on though. Hope you and DH are doing ok.

I'm wishing you an almighty period for your Christmas pressie!! What a lovely lining too. Omg banana I am getting so excited for you. What's the plan if you do get a nice bleed do you know yet? xxx

I walked into the office and he looked bloody relieved, waving my blood results (which had arrived 10 mins previously) and saying 'it's good news!!'

Next step is another Gonal-F ovulation induction cycle with the IUD. Depending on if / what kind of bleed we get depends on how many cycles we do before we remove the coil. Then it's more of the same but without the coil, doing endometrial biopsies. Best case I would guess maybe 3 more ovulation induction cycles minimum, before we either call it quits or try another FET. FET would be an ovulation induction cycle too, as I clearly don't respond to artificial oestrogen.

It's a long game - sadly thickening my lining is only really the first hurdle. We've been here before - I had 11mm on my freeze all IVF cycle and just under 9mm in my FET in Sept. The lining thickened - but when my period came, I didn't get a bleed, just dark brown spotting. Unless we can get my lining consistently regenerating, a FET is almost certainly doomed to fail. Or at least end in another miscarriage.

Lolly2803 · 08/12/2016 08:41

Aw bless him. Love the sound of your Dr! It is a long game but sounds like you're making progress which is really promising!!
When will you see him again? After Christmas when you know more about the potential bleed?

How are you feeling about it all? xxx

Banana it's a real rollercoaster for you isn't it, what a contrast from last week. I'm so pleased to hear there's progress

Bear2014 · 08/12/2016 09:31

Banana that is great news! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a nice big fat Christmas bleed for you. Just what every girl wants over the festive season Grin Sounds so promising, and I too am loving your doctor.

I've had a bit of brown spotting this morning, trying not to freak out. Also have achy side-boob and the constant need to pee so it does seem like my HCG is rising but it's still a bit unsettling! Never had spotting with my DD and never even had it in the pg when I miscarried at 10 weeks...

Lolly2803 · 08/12/2016 10:00

Bear brown spotting is usually old so I wouldn't worry at all. From what I've read spotting is so common and happens to a LOT of women. Sounds like the symptoms are cranking up too so all sounds positive to me. The spotting could have been from implantation but it's only just dropping down? I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Bear2014 · 08/12/2016 10:08

Yeah maybe. I'm also still taking Progynova vaginally and I have never had any vaginal drugs before so it could be that? This whole thing drives you bat-shit doesn't it xx

Lolly2803 · 08/12/2016 10:19

Oh I didn't realise, yes it'll almost certainly be that. I've read that can irritate things and lots of other women on here have reported similar things so I really wouldn't worry.
Yes this whole thing sends you absolutely crazy! I'm starting to get so nervous about Monday now and I know come Sunday evening / Monday I'm going to be a wreck!!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 08/12/2016 10:25

I can imagine you will be! Deep breaths, you'll be fine xx

Lolly2803 · 08/12/2016 22:30

Question for you ladies, ever since I got my BFP every time I blow my nose I have blood in there. Sometimes just a spot or two and other times more than a spot. It never "bleeds" just when I blow my nose. Is it the cleaned/aspirin? Have you ever heard of this or had this too? Random isn't it!!!

OP posts:
Blueroses99 · 08/12/2016 22:49

I have never heard of that Lolly. Aspirin is a blood thinner so you're more likely to bleed I think? I don't know though, perhaps call the clinic or your GP?

Bear2014 · 09/12/2016 06:27

Hi Lolly i think this is pretty common. It's to do with your blood volume and blood pressure being higher, and probs the aspirin too xx

Lolly2803 · 09/12/2016 07:38

Ah ok. In theory it makes sense as blood flow is increased and I'm taking two lots of blood thinner just wondered if it was common or not.
I usually have really low blood pressure!

How are you ladies doing today?

I've got a day off (yippee). Every year my sister, my dad and I go shopping and for breakfast. They get the train into London and we spend the day together. Basically so we can help him buy my mums pressies! So I'm really looking forward to that. Been awake for the past couple of hours not able to sleep and with heartburn. I seem to be exhausted in the evenings but then wake up early and can't drift back off!
3 sleeps till scan day!!! xxx

Bear2014 · 11/12/2016 08:57

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. That sounds fab Lolly, hope it was fun. Just want to wish you all the luck in the world for your scan tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

I'm still pregnant Wink might stop peeing on sticks now as it's getting a but silly. Went to a cocktail party at someone's house last night so i think loads of people have now guessed, not to mention my Cyclogest bloat. Oh well. Just looking forward to Christmas now, hooray! Xx

Lolly2803 · 11/12/2016 09:03

Hey Bear! Step away from the sticks!! Haha! You are def preggers so now it's just yet more waiting and wondering for you! I feel your pain....I've been ok up until yesterday when I was really irritable!!! Not sure why think it's a mixture of being anxious about tomorrow and all the drugs! Today I'm just worried. So worried that they'll be no baby in there or that it'll be in the wrong place or they'll be no heartbeat - basically worrying about all eventualities!!!
27 hours to go!!! Eeekkkkk!!!!

OP posts:
Blueroses99 · 11/12/2016 09:55

Agree Bear, step away from the sticks now!

Lolly not long now...

Mention of cocktail party reminded me that it's my work Christmas party on Friday and I'm not sure how to handle that. It's onsite, there's a beautiful entertaining space that's hired out, and we often use it for our own events - but if it's like previous years they don't serve spirits. I think there's wine and beer, and soft drinks - but there's no disguising a soft drink as anything else, sparkling water is obv not G&T when they're not serving gin! Any tips...?

Bear2014 · 11/12/2016 13:17

Lolly I don't blame you- but i'm sure it will be fine.

I think depending on the situation it's quite hard to fake drinking. Would you normally drink a fair bit at these things? One tactic is to take a wine and just hold it. It's easier at standing mingling things than sit down dinners. Surely given the year you've had people might guess you're at least trying and would be sensitive enough to not call you out on it xx

Blueroses99 · 11/12/2016 13:46

You're right I'm probably over thinking it Blush

Bear2014 · 11/12/2016 14:19

Not necessarily.. I'm avoiding my works do altogether on this basis but i am a miserable non drinker GrinGrin

Lolly2803 · 11/12/2016 14:41

Yer I agree with Bear. I'd just nurse a glass of wine and slowly tip it away when you go to the bathroom or whatever. Nobody should say anything even if they thought it - I wouldn't anyway!

I'm watching Christmas films all day with my parents and sister. Although I basically slept through the first one. Feeling really queasy today.

Xxx

OP posts:
