WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Stealth any side effects from progynova ?
Yes definitely need a posse Grin

Hi grumpel, when is AF due? We are all in limbo!

stealthbanana · 03/04/2016 22:32

Don't think so vixx, I've been a bit weary but not sure if that's the drugs or just life! Have also been a bit, erm, gassy but again not sure if that's from something I ate or the Progynova (or metformin my old friend!).

My ovaries are still settling down too so I'm not quite 100% in that area generally.

Feeling 100000% better than 3 weeks ago though so it's all relative!

at grumpel. All this waiting is the absolute pits!

Grumpelstiltskin · 03/04/2016 22:36

Love the idea of a FET posse!

No idea re AF, annoyingly. Keep getting crampy feelings but had a scan last week to check I was all-clear from the EPRC (thankfully I was), and they also saw a 13mm follie in my right ovary so looks like I'll ov first. No idea when though, temps are still low. Arghhhhh, boooooring!
Emailed clinic tonight re the above though so I can hopefully at the very least get a bit of a plan from them.

What's the burselin for, vixx? You downregging? Never done it so am a bit vague about that bit!

Vixxfacee · 03/04/2016 23:18

I have no idea what it's for tbh. HavING injections until 20th then I will start on womb thickening tablets until transfer!

I am no knowledgeable it's my first go!

Vixxfacee · 03/04/2016 23:29

Not *

I don't know much about process for fet and everyone's is different so hard to work out.

RoseBud2016 · 04/04/2016 05:24

Hi all! Im on my hols and the sun is shining. We are having a great time but I have had a few breakdowns on DH along the way too. Just have this unbelievable sense of loneliness at the mo and it's crippling me some days.
It's reassuring to read that you are feeling similarly distant from friends and family. With the exception of DH, that's exactly how I'm feeling and it's tough.
But DH and I had a big chat the other night (he always knows the right things to say..... I am so very lucky) I cried and cried but he made me feel more positive and less alone.
Then my f**king AF came on Saturday! That means I had a bloody 35 day cycle!!!! This NEVER happens and has completely ruined my plans for a FET in April cos the timing doesn't work (I have a hen wkend the wkend that FET would most likely fall on and after feeling so distant from friends, I think cancelling this hen wkend would make me feel even worse) so it looks like we have to wait until my next AF now- May it is. So boring and so typically crappy!

Vixx Glad to hear you are underway with your injections now. The countdown is on! It looks like we may have our transfer at around the same time now Smile

Stealth yay for thin lining and being able to start plumping up that lining now ready for one of your little ones. That's great that 10 came back as chromosonially normal! Do you know if 50% is about average for PGS? Just wondering (and worrying) about my little batch!

Grumpel I'll join you on the "bench of boredom" Nothing to do but wait for AF to go and then wait for AF to come again- pure boredom!

Grumpelstiltskin · 04/04/2016 08:04

Oh no rose that's just typical! Bloody AF!
Sorry to hear you've been a bit sad on hols. I found too that being away was lovely but having a break from the normal hustle and bustle meant I spent a lot of time in my head thinking about everything and sobbing over baby bombs feeling emotional. Hopefully it's just you processing everything and you'll feel a bit better after some decent crying sessions . Do feel for you.

The waiting especially is so frustrating! At least we have each other for company on the bench of boredom.

stealthbanana · 04/04/2016 08:25

rose sorry to hear you are sad on hols. Sometimes I think we need a bit of time & space to process all these emotions, and unfortunately holidays are the only time you get to do it. Glad DH is such a comfort to you, and don't worry you will get through it!

I think we can all relate to feeling distant from friends, all the healthy lifestyle stuff puts one barrier in the way and you don't particularly want to be telling all and sundry about your fertility treatment in detail so you just stay away. Hen weekend sounds super fun, is there a reason you couldn't move a fet a little bit to accommodate both? I was under the impression probably incorrect that you had a bit more flex with your dates as estrogen was suppressing ovulation anyway. And you don't have a natural cycle to worry about either, you could start later (eg I didn't start on progynova until cd10). Maybe something to ask about?

Am also amazed at a 35 day cycle! maybe you oved and instadiffed

Re PGS - I believe 40-50% abnormal is about right for my age, so we are at the lower end of "average". Reading googling frantically it seems that most people have around 50-60% normals, with some people up at 85% and others down at 0-5% - the latter group have clear problems with egg quality. Realistically you will have a couple of duff embies in your frosticles, and it's possible that's what caused your loss last time, but you will also have a couple of beautiful normal babies so don't worry too much.

grumpel I don't understand downregging in a fet situation either. I wonder why they do it?

Bench of boredom is the worst. Esp when you don't have a natural cycle - why are we still tied to periods so much?!

stealthbanana · 07/04/2016 18:56

Scan today. Lining at 8.2mm so only a little bit more to go before I start progesterone. He said FET will be in next 7-10 days. Gulp! This is really happening!

Grumpelstiltskin · 07/04/2016 20:56

Woohoo! Awesome news stealth, so excited for you! Will be watching eagerly to see how you get on. Get that liking all cushy! (Get just autocorrected to FET- ha!)

Nothing happening at my end, all (still) very dull. Though I think I ov'd on Tues, had cramps and ewcm and everything. Well done, body. But that does mean no AF for a bit longer I'd guess. DULLLLLLLLLL.

Grumpelstiltskin · 07/04/2016 20:57

^ lining

Of course.

Vixxfacee · 07/04/2016 22:55

Rose sorry you're not feeling great on holiday Sad when are you back?

Stealth good news on the lining! 7-10 days that's fantastic news. So you could be taking a pregnancy test in 3 weeks Smile

I am on day 10 of bureselin and I'm bloated and really tired. No energy at all and I have at least 2 more weeks of this!

Vixxfacee · 07/04/2016 22:56

Grump each day is 1 step closer

stealthbanana · 08/04/2016 08:07

Hear you on the energy vixx. I have started to feel fatigued again and asked my doctor why - apparently it's the estrogen. And I'll have to stay on tablets for the first trimester if I do manage to get pregnant. Happy days. So bored of being tired.

Went out for a big boozy work dinner last night - drank an absolute bucket full of wine and am feeling fairly rotten today! Oh well!

grumpel grrrr. Hopefully you have some nice stuff planned to make the next couple of weeks go quickly.

stealthbanana · 09/04/2016 18:11

So am all booked in for fet on Friday afternoon. Eeeeeek!

Grumpelstiltskin · 09/04/2016 19:08

Wow, that'll come around soon! Excited for you!

Vixxfacee · 09/04/2016 20:10

Great news!! Are you ready Grin

stealthbanana · 10/04/2016 09:00

Definitely not vixx! Not sure what I'm more terrified of - the transfer not working, or it working! Confused

RoseBud2016 · 12/04/2016 12:06

Hi all,

Got back from my holidays on Saturday. Wow the UK weather sucks doesn't it?! I'm nicely tanned and had a fun time with lots of laughs, but emotionally I don't feel rested at all.
In fact I feel wired!
I just want to get on with a FET and even that is proving difficult. I tried asking about delaying transfer like you suggested Stealth but Reprofit say that a weeks delay would be too long. So now i'm not going to be doing my FET cycle until mid-May with transfer not being until end of May Sad So frustrating and long and shit!

How are you doing now Vixx? x

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 12/04/2016 13:12

God that's so annoying that you can't delay rose. I don't understand that at all - I didn't start progynova until cd10 and there was no hint that it would have been a problem if I'd delayed longer. Grrrr! Can totally understand wanting to get back in the saddle and get on with it.

More importantly, I am extremely jealous of your tan!

Vixxfacee · 12/04/2016 20:32

Hi Rosebud, I'm jealous of you being away and getting a tan too!

It's easy for me to say but it will be four weeks until you can start your transfer ( but I do know ivf time feels like forever when you want it now).

I'm ok just plodding along on the injections. Have my scan next week so hopefully can start the next bit
Looking at time scales I don't think I will have the transfer until mid-end of may either!

stealthbanana · 12/04/2016 20:49

When do you start your progynova vixx? Is it when you get a period?

FETs do seem to take an age. Ho hum!

Vixxfacee · 12/04/2016 21:14

Mines different to everyone's else's. I start progynova after my scan next week.
I started suprecur on day 21 of my cycle.

How are you preparing for Friday?

stealthbanana · 12/04/2016 21:23

Got it. Well that's exciting moving into the next stage before the next stage before the next stage - !!

Prep has been absolutely nada. In fact I've been almost sabotaging myself. Booze, soft cheese, barely a vegetable in sight, hot baths...not good. Must do better tomorrow! I figure I'm just going to try to stay relaxed and cross my fingers and try to keep at bay the thoughts of how on earth this could possibly work and it is all a waste of time, it all just feels surreal right now.
