WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

I'm just dropping in to say, Rose, I was so sorry to read your news when catching up with you on this thread. Flowers I hope that me saying that doesn't make you feel worse now that you're on top of things again. I'm full of admiration for you with your new plan and will be rooting for you every step of the way. Meanwhile Wine for you.

Congrats to all you other ladies too - it's really great to see some positive news and that you've all had success with your treatments. I'm having egg collection on Monday so it's inspiring to see. Best of luck for the next bit!x

RoseBud2016 · 02/08/2016 10:57

Aww just seen your message Rebecca Thank you for thinking of me. How did EC go yesterday for you? I really hope you got some good news and aren't feeling too sore! Where abouts are you hanging out on MN these days? Xxx

Grumpel Do you mind me asking how long after your ERPC you got your first AF? And do you remember having any cramping/odd sensations beforehand? I'm not sure whats going on with my body but I'm getting these weird sensations low down in my abdomen. I was thinking maybe it was ov but no positive opk just nearly positive ones. Who bloody knows!

Reprofit are being so slow at getting back to me now- I'm getting majorly pissed off. I feel like they see us as a lost cause now and have written us off. Communication was always really prompt, now I'm waiting ages with no response. AngryAngryAngry

Hi Stealth and Vixx Smile x

Hey rose. Sorry to hear Reprofit are being dicks. Hope you're otherwise doing ok.

To answer your questions, I got AF about 5.5 weeks after the ERPC I think, and did ov first, as a ripening follie was seen on my check-up scan at the EPU two weeks after and then I had some ov cramping. I wonder if the pains you're having could be your uterus contracting back down? I definitely had that for a bit too, very low down as you say, and it felt quite odd.

Thanks Rebecca for your good wishes- echoing Rose in that I hope EC went really well** for you. Best of luck with your cycle.

stealthbanana · 02/08/2016 13:05

rose that's so annoying about reprofit. I'd be amazed if they were giving up on you - nothing that's happened has been particularly extraordinary so far i would have thought (in a good way!). Hopefully as grumpel said the pain is your uterus contracting. And boo for almost positive opks - the curse of PCOS!

grumpel hope you're holding up ok & the stress of the first tri hasn't got to you.

vixx hope the anti emetics are doing the job.

Good luck rebecca!

RoseBud2016 · 03/08/2016 22:51

Finally had immunes treatment for my next FET agreed today! It took me fully throwing my toys out of the pram but I got there eventually.
So next FET I'll be on Clexane, pred, and (hopefully) intrapilids as well as PIO injections and oestrogen.

I also get my blood results back from the HP tomorrow so we'll see if that sheds any further light on things.

Grumpel thank you for that- sounds like what I'm feeling is probably pretty normal stuff post-ERPC then.
One more question for you- how many AFs after ERPC did you have a FET? I'm being advised on 2 so that takes me to the end of Sept/beginning of Oct probably.
What's the date of your 12 week scan? How are you feeling?

Stealth can't be long until your next scan now! They feel like they are coming thick and fast now! Almost half way there! Crazy.

Vixx How's work going? Still managing it ok? X

stealthbanana · 04/08/2016 08:31

Awesome news rose. I knew you'd get there in the end. A shame you had to have a tantrum but Nevermind. Hopefully all the bloods come back clear.

Yes I'm just on 19w! Can't believe it. Morning sickness has come back with a vengeance this week and my stomach is in agony - think it's ligaments stretching, so am thinking I'll pop soon. Scan won't be til 21+4 due to my holiday dates so a couple of weeks to wait yet. Just hoping everything is ok. Telling work next week too - gulp, it's all getting a bit real!

Grumpelstiltskin · 04/08/2016 11:19

Oh brilliant news rose! Glad you're going to have the full shebang. I heartily recommend a few seconds of ice cube before the Clexane stab every day though!

Yes, I waited two full cycles- had first period after the mc, then another, then after the third one it was all systems go for FET at ov. I think that's pretty standard. Frustrating at the time with all the hanging about but ultimately was good for my body to be totally recovered, thyroid sorted and any other bits ironed out. I'm sure Sept/Oct will be here before you know it. Hope you have lots of nice things planned to distract you.

Thanks for your thoughts- have scanxiety at full throttle currently as 12wk scan is tomorrow. Argh! Other than needing to eat every two hours and having to lie motionless on the sofa from 7pm most evenings, am still symptomless, really, which obviously incites low-level panic. I even ate some veg yesterday and quite enjoyed it Hmm So hope little grump is still in there.

Poor you stealth, can't believe you're still feeling so rough. Seems rather unfair just when you were beginning to get better. 19 weeks though! I definitely reckon stealthini is having a growth spurt - hopefully to translate to bump soon.

Vixx Hope all is well with you and you're not still struggling with sickness too.

stealthbanana · 04/08/2016 22:40

Good luck grumpel! Really hoping you'll see little grump knocking about like a champ. Hope the scanxiety isn't too bad tonight, get some rest.

Yep the bump is coming...I can feel it! Am looking forward to seeing stealthini again in between feverishly imagining all the horrible things we could find out have gone wrong at the 20w scan

RebeccaNoodles · 05/08/2016 22:38

Hi Rose and everyone - thanks very much for your kind wishes, just ducking back in to say that EC went well and we have some good embryos on ice for an FET in late Sept/early oct. Good luck to you and I'm keeping everything crossed for you Rose, that sounds good work on the immunes. I'm mainly on the BESH thread if you want to check in.Keep throwing those toys! x

RoseBud2016 · 06/08/2016 07:49

Stealth Good luck with telling work next week- are you planning to take a year off?

Grumpel I hope your scan went well yesterday and that little Grump is growing perfectly. All ok?

Rebecca So pleased that EC went well and you now have some frozen embryos waiting for you! Did you get them tested at all? I'm looking at a FET at about the same time if all goes to plan and AF turns up! We can be FET buddies- I love a FET buddy, me! Grin Don't worry Grumpel you'll always be special cos you were my first Wink

AFM- all thrombophilia, basic immunes and full blood count came back within normal ranges so that's another thing ruled out. I'm still going to take Clexane and baby aspirin anyway though as I know the GP wouldn't have covered anywhere near everything in terms of blood clotting disorders.
Received my FET protocol from Reprofit- but it was missing Clexane Angry so now waiting for a replacement. But getting there slowly!
And started temping again- just to see if my body is finally now oving. I'm using an all night vaginal reader called Ovusense. My temps are really high at the mo- 36.8 average. It sounds like a post-ov temp don't you think?!

OP posts:
Grumpelstiltskin · 06/08/2016 08:38

Aw, rose, so pleased you'll have another FET buddy! (Glad all went well, *Rebecca!)
*
Good news that the tests so far are ok. Is DH getting any testing done too?
Your temps certainly sound like my post-ov ones but I only had a bog standard bbt so it was all a bit hit and miss to be honest!

Scan yesterday went well, thanks. Getting past this bit seems like such a milestone and had a few relieved tears in the loo. Was so surreal to see an actual fidgety baby in there!

Hope you all have sunny weekends x

stealthbanana · 06/08/2016 08:56

grumpel just so so pleased to hear the scan went well. Know what you mean about the post scan emotional outpouring - after the 7 week scan I burst into floods of tears whilst still on the scan bed (fortunately the doctor and DH had gone back into the consulting room whilst I was getting my knickers back on). Just a rush of adrenaline and relief.

rose keep plugging away at those reprofit dumbbells. Really good news that the bloods have come back clear. It does point more strongly to you being "just" unlucky with your embies. And the belts & braces on the immunes will take care of the rest. Have a really good feeling about this transfer for you my dear.

Can't help you with ov temps as I only tried once and my temps were so all over the place (combination of PCOS and a varied schedule/changing time zone half way through!) that I gave up.

And my plan, all being well, is to take 6 months off - possibly phasing a return slightly earlier if I'm feeling up to it. I don't really have the type of job where you can be out for a year plus I work with all Americans who think any more than 12 weeks of mat leave is egregious and luxurious Hmm. I feel good about 6 months, think it's the right length of time for me.

Now just have to get through 20w scan; low level scanxiety starting to build already. Must stop reading horrible stories on here of women with previously uneventful pregnancies finding out their babies have heart defects and the like!

stealthbanana · 18/08/2016 18:50

Just checking in on you all - vixx hope the vomiting has subsided, grumpel hope you're feeling ok & rose hopefully you're enjoying a lovely summer and enjoying your break before hopping back on the treatment merry go round.

RoseBud2016 · 18/08/2016 22:15

So pleased to hear that the scan went well Grumpel - Little Grump is getting nice and snug.....and nice and strong!

Stealth Good luck with your next scan. It must be coming up soon right? When exactly is it?

AFM- AF came!!! 36 day cycle after ERPC so those high temps defo seem to have indicated I ov'ed! Got this cycle to try naturally and then we plan to go for another FET in Oct ( if AF decides to play ball)
Got my prescriptions for my immune meds. Just waiting for a letter of recommendation from the clinic for intrapilids so I can get those organised nearer the time too. So it feels like things are coming together again here X

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 19/08/2016 09:51

Hurrah rose! Weird when you're praying for AF to turn up isn't it? Really glad it's not been a neverending cycle for you. Sounds like all the prescriptions are falling into place too. And there's always hope of that elusive ironidiff Grin

My scan is on Tuesday - a little late as I'm on hols this week. Trying to ignore the low level scanxiety creeping up. My latest wheeze is to freak out about baby movements. I've got an anterior placenta so I can't feel that much anyway, just fluttering & pops - but I've having a great time torturing myself with thoughts that the movements are too irregular/maybe it's all just digestive systems and the baby is really alive. Christ, it never ends!!

RoseBud2016 · 21/08/2016 19:10

Stealth I don't think the worry ever ends. Good luck for Tuesday! Update me when you can. X

Everything is in place for our next FET now- meds bought, intrapilids referral letter received, frame of mind..... As good as it can be. Just need to hope my next AF turns up promptly in the next few weeks.

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 21/08/2016 23:44

I know! I will update. Have had a fair bit of activity the last couple of days so hoping all is well.

So pleased everything is sorted. Keeping everything crossed for you that AF behaves herself for once and shows up vaguely at the right time! X

vixx hope everything is ok with you, check in when you can x

Grumpelstiltskin · 23/08/2016 20:12

Hello ladies. I hadn't clocked that this thread had seen some recent activity!

Rose I'm so pleased to hear that you're All Set for FET, hope that focusing on the next round has helped you in that horrible time post-ERPC. Am in awe of your organisation and resilience.
Excellent that AF played ball too and fingers crossed that it turns up again at the expected time. Hope you don't mind a little bit of stalking as I'll be keeping my eye out to see how you get on. Like stealth I have big hopes for this next cycle and really hope it's your time for a sticky one. Xxx

RoseBud2016 · 24/08/2016 11:33

Stealth I've seen on the preg after infertility thread that your scan went well. I'm so so pleased for you! Congratulations!

Vixx and Grumpel I'm glad to read things are going well for you both too! Smile

I think it's time to wind this thread up now. I know where to find you guys to check you are all doing ok, and I've joined BESH and finally feel like I've found somewhere else on MN where I can continue this journey, with people that are in a similar position to me. Of course you can come stalk me there if you like Wink

Thank you for everything. You have all been fab. Who knows maybe I'll be joining you all on the thread soon.... But I won't count my chickens xxx

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 25/08/2016 09:26

Yes, everything was fine rose. Completely amazing actually. There's a proper little human in there now!

Glad you have found the BESH. I occasionally lurk and will make sure I pop over in September to see how you're doing. If you can, come back and give us a little update on this thread too. I really really hope and wish this is your time - you deserve it xx

RoseBud2016 · 25/08/2016 09:29

Thank you my lovely- will do! xxx
