WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Ah congratulations Grumpel! So pleased everything is great and your little grump is growing nicely.

stealthbanana · 19/07/2016 18:49

Hurrah grumpel! So pleased little grump is alive and kicking. Very exciting.

vixx at times it looks like I've had a large dinner. That's it. I weighed myself on the weekend for the first time since duffery and I've actually lost 3kgs since transfer. So goodness knows what's going on. Stealthini is clearly a complete greedy guts and is eating all my calories for me!

I'm melting too grump. I finally cracked and wore the twee TfL Baby on Board badge on the tube this morning - figured it was time to pull prego rank in the hot box Grin

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/07/2016 19:15

Blimey stealth- maybe it's all the puking and stealthini taking what's left. Surely a bump has to pop out of your slender self soon? I sadly am over 2kg heavier already, I've realised (holiday carbs and doing zero exercise, innit). Tentatively looked at mat clothes this afternoon but far too early really as I just look all-round porky- though might try the tfl badge anyway and get judgy looks

stealthbanana · 19/07/2016 20:13

I know! I'm slowly losing my waist but nothing is coming out yet particularly. And God knows where the weight has gone. I think my uterus is just still really low in my pelvis as my hip bones are definitely receding a bit. And yes I think all the puking hasn't helped - but I thought the eating like a horse carbload might offset that! Given stealthini is a giant with a fat tummy I'm not at all worried but it's a bit odd.

I got a few dark/sceptical looks on the tube as I don't look demonstrably pregnant. Defo get your badge - you order them online from TfL. There have to be some perks from all this pregnancy anxiety and indignity!

Hello my lovely little bunch of ladies! I'm back from my hols and am just sitting in the garden in my bikini topped up my tan so thought I would catch up on the thread Grin

Grumpel Huge congratulations on our scan news. So pleased that you have got past that important milestone and can now (try) to rest in the knowledge that things are going well. Your 12 week scan will be here in no time! How are you feeling? How's the house coming on?

Stealth And big congrats to you on another perfect scan...... You, my lovely, are going a big strong baby! It is only a matter of time before you have a 'proper' bump! Such amazing news. Have you felt any stronger sensations of movement since your last post?

Vixx If my memory serves me correctly- your scan is soon right? I'm keeping absolutely everything crossed for a healthy baby Vixx too Smile

AFM- Serum have received my blood sample for hidden infections testing so just awaiting the results from that and I'm still battling Reprofit for immune meds to be added to my next FET protocol. All my meds/preggo symptoms have now gone so I'm hoping my HCG is dropping quickly. I'll POAS tomorrow to check.

We spent our hols enjoying the 37c (!!! ) sunshine, sightseeing and drinking lots of wine. It was exactly what we needed and we are feeling a lot more like us again now. We are ready to get cracking once we have everything we want in place for the next FET.

Hey Rose, glad you enjoyed your trip! Just what you needed.
What is the time scale looking like for the fet?
I had my scan on Thursday and everything is looking good. Just waiting for my blood test results x

RoseBud2016 · 23/07/2016 14:27

Vixx I wasn't too far out- I thought it was this Thurs! Congratulations are in order for you too then! So glad to read that you are feeling less sick and are back at work now. I hope they aren't working you too hard?!

I think realistically the next FET wouldn't be until Sept/Oct time. I have to wait for AF after the ERPC. Then have another cycle, then once the following AF comes, then get cracking with a FET. I'm considering a hysteroscopy in between the first and second AF to check my uterus all looks good after the ERPC and will then fly out the following month again for FET. So I'm hoping to have AF at beginning of August then fly out for hysteroscopy (and face to face confrontation with Reprofit consultant about adding my immunes if needed Wink) then fly out for FET in Sept/Oct after next AF.

It's a bloody long process and it's very frustrating.

rose! Welcome back. So pleased you had a nice holiday. It sounds fantastic, and much needed for the both of you.

Fx that your POASing yields the right result. What's the latest with reprofit? Are they still being stubborn about the immunes? Such a drag that you have to wait for so long but at least you can have a nice summer without being constantly poked and prodded.

Haven't felt much else by way of movement, it's just little flutters from time to time. I think nothing much else will really happen now for a few weeks. Am just going to try to use this time when I have a bit more energy to do some exercise, relax and enjoy having not popped yet!

vixx how are you feeling?

Vixxfacee · 24/07/2016 21:01

Rose how long will test results take?
Have you decided what you will do regarding the pgs testing on your frosties?

Stealth I'm really good. Haven't been sick for a good few days and my appetite is back. Had a big Sunday dinner today!
When did you start feeling flutters? Hown big is the bump?

I'm desperate for my bump!

stealthbanana · 24/07/2016 22:01

Great! Pleased to hear it. I'm just emerging too bar an unfortunate incident at the pool yesterday and it's so nice to have a little bit of energy again! I made a delicious salad with tiger prawns, coconut, mango and avocado this evening and it was lovely to actually want all those flavours!

Flutters - probably last week. They are fleeting though. And mixed in with sensations from my uterus stretching. And I STILL don't have a bump! I can feel my uterus and it looks like a tiny rounded thing between my hip bones but no bump at all. Still fitting perfectly into all my normal trousers too. Am wondering when it will come! Hopefully the next couple of weeks otherwise I'll start to get worried.

Vixxfacee · 25/07/2016 08:03

What happened at the pool!?

So good you can finally start to want and enjoy food again! How tall are you?
On this app I am on people are showing bumps from say 9 weeks. But they were already a bit big in the first place or it is just bloat. Yours is probably going to just appear one morning.

stealthbanana · 25/07/2016 09:24

I did my first aqua aerobics class since pregnancy and was overcome by needing to vomit. Managed to get out of the pool but promptly threw up by the side whilst all the horrified people in the pool and adjacent jacuzzi looked on . It was pretty embarrassing.

Yes it's exciting re real food. I'm 5'9". I'm guessing I'll suddenly pop. Everyone carries differently I suppose! Went shopping yesterday to buy new bras and also got a couple of drapey dresses in anticipation of my expanding waistline.

Vixxfacee · 25/07/2016 11:09

Oh no, they probably thought you were drunk Grin
Not long to go until you're half way there.
We are the same height. If you have a long torso like me you will probably show later!

stealthbanana · 25/07/2016 11:46

Haha. Luckily I'd told the instructor I was pregnant before the class. But yes everyone else probably thought I'd had a big night the evening before!

I've actually got a really short torso - I am mostly leg. But there's obviously room somewhere!

Grumpelstiltskin · 25/07/2016 18:09

Hello ladies!
Welcome back rose, glad you had a relaxing holiday- just the tonic. So glad you and DH had a lovely time.
Your plan of action sounds very similar to what I did. The waiting around is a total ballache, I won't lie, but it's reassuring in a way that your body will definitely be recovered and in tip-top FET shape by the time of restarting. A hysteroscopy sounds a great idea too. My EPU were randomly happy to scan me again 2 weeks after ERPC to check all was well, otherwise I would definitely have considered one.
I have everything crossed for you that next time you get the outcome you so deserve and in the meantime you enjoy the rest of the summer. Flowers

Oh stealth I'm sorry and I know it's terrible schadenfreude, but I did have a small chuckle at your pool mishap - mainly from imagining everyone else's faces. I'm glad you're finally starting to feel better though- about time! Your salad sounds amazing, too.

Vixx I'm sure your bump will pop in no time. You just need to get some carbs down you now!

I am very much taking my own advice there, and therefore am definitely not fitting in normal trousers any more, even with hairband extender. Gonna have to bite the bullet and get some stretchy ones. My waist is definitely thicker and my once quite good abs (sob) have been replaced by a definite poochy belly. Pretty sure it's just pasta for now though.
Planning on telling my manager this week for the constant dashing-out-to- scan-and-midwife purposes without getting this face: Hmm, plus some friends I'm spending the coming weekend at a spa with. Not using the hot tub and sauna or getting stuck into the champagne is the biggest giveaway in the world. Will be bittersweet in a way as one of these friends is due the same week I would have been first time around.

Hope you guys have good weeks. X

RoseBud2016 · 27/07/2016 08:38

So some news from me to start:

POAS- definite BFN
OPK- nearly positive

So stealth DTD is underway as of this morn Wink DH has no clue I have another motive. Heck it's worth a try, right?!

And my hidden infections tests from Serum all came back clear! I'm obviously pleased but also strangely disappointed- still no answers!

RoseBud2016 · 27/07/2016 08:47

Vixx At the mo I think we plan to rule out everything that could be wrong with me then do another FET. If things still go wrong then we will look at a new fresh cycle with PGS.

You will get a bump- I bet you will pop all of a sudden when you least expect. Just enjoy being able to put on your own shoes while you still can Wink

Stealth I'm so sorry but your pool story made my laugh quite a lot. Grin What a nightmare! But a great little preggo story! Bless you. I imagine you won't be going back there anytime soon.

Grumpel that will be a tough one with the preggo friend. She will want to talk babies with you, but for you its probably going to be tougher than she realises. I hope she is sensitive and you have a nice time not enjoying the spa facilities.

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 27/07/2016 13:09

Rose have you used OPK before?
Have a good evening!

Glad your test results were clear. What is the next step?

Has my consultation appointment today at ante natal clinic (because it was ivf). All tests came back clear apart from low iron. Just waiting for the downs screening test.

My next scan is 12th January. They have also offered to induce me at 40 weeks if I want. I told them I am anxious so had a quick scan and saw baby again which was great.

Vixxfacee · 27/07/2016 16:02

Got hospital letter. Good news. Low risk
1 in 16,280 for downs syndrome and 1 in 134,857 for the other 2 trisomies

Grumpelstiltskin · 27/07/2016 16:42

Great news, Vixx! A huge weight off your mind there.
Is your next scan really not till Jan?! When do you hit 20 wks?

Like your cunning plan, rose! Have fun!

Vixxfacee · 27/07/2016 16:46

Sorry I meant 12th September!
Thank you.

Grumpelstiltskin · 27/07/2016 16:48

Haha, bit less of a wait for you!

Vixxfacee · 27/07/2016 17:05

6 weeks! I can't wait. When is your scan?

RoseBud2016 · 27/07/2016 17:42

Aww great news Vixx Huge relief!

Yeah I've used opks loads before and they aren't very reliable for me but I figure there's no harm in giving it a try whilst we are waiting.

Out of interest Vixx were you taking metformin before and during FET? I know Stealth was so just wondering if you also were for PCOS? I've never been prescribed it and thinking maybe I should push my HP for that too? Probably wont make any difference now but maybe it's worth a shot?

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 27/07/2016 17:47

No I've never been offered metformin. I think (may be wrong) that some people take it with clomid. It was never even mentioned to me. From the drs straight to fertility clinic and clomid.
I think may be worth a shot though like you say.
