WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Vixx not long until your next scan now! Smile How has the spotting been this weekend?

Funky I first tested at 5dp5dt ( i got a very faint positive on an IC) and, like Grumpel, have been driving myself slowly crazy ever since! Having said that seeing the lines progressing is just about keeping my crazy at bay..... Just!
If I had more restraint I think I would have benefitted from waiting a few extra days before starting to obsessively pee on sticks! So if you can resist, I would encourage you to do that! I'm just way too impatient Grin

Grumpel I love the fact that you blame me for your POAS addiction! What me a bad influence??!!! Never HaloHaloHalo

Funky How are you feeling? X

AFM- my POAS obsession continues. So far my day has gone like this... I woke up this morn feeling like all my "symptoms" had disappeared. Cue me crying and DH taking me to Boots to get more FRER Blush It's still getting darker..... I cried some more! Nightmare! I just need to get these betas underway now before I scare DH off! Blush

Haha, you guys are a bad influence. I poas this morning (frer) and bfn at 5dp5dt Sad I know it might be too soon but I'm not hopeful at all and have had a good cry.

rose your line progression is very clear and a lovely dark line this morning. Nothing more reassuring than seeing that Grin.

vixx do you have your early scan this week?

stealthbanana · 12/06/2016 17:22

Ah welcome funky. Hope you have better news tomorrow. 5dpt really early, it's on the edge of what the hpts can test. How far along was your embryo (hatching, hatched)?

rose that line looks pretty damn good to me! Not long now until beta.

grumpel glad the beta went well. Now for the next stressful waity bit. Hope you're all settled into the new house.

vixx hope the spotting has stopped and you're feeling calm about next scan.

AFM, am heading back from my weekend. Did all sorts of potential baby killing activities including strenuous mountain climbing, eating fish high in mercury (that was a mistake), having a couple of sips of champagne, and bathing in hot thermal springs (in deference to being upduffed I restricted myself to the more mild parts of the spring). Hopefully little stealthini is still ok. Also managed to forget half my drugs so have had no pred or metformin (or prenatal vits) all weekend. Good effort stealth 😳Nausea has definitely lifted (uh oh) although it, and vomiting, are still coming and going.

Vixxfacee · 12/06/2016 19:23

Funky you are still really early. Keep strong and don't test for a few more days (easy to say).

Rose you poor thing, I can't believe you sent dh out to get another test! How many more did you get? Do you know when you are going for beta? The progress on those tests are perfect.

Wow stealth you have had a busy time! Glad to see you are still getting the nausea. Not long for you until you are at the 12 weeks and can settle.

I have had a nightmare few days, constant vomiting and not being able to eat. Even water isn't staying down. Today have woken up with a load of pink/brown spotting (more than ever) and I was sick just once this morning. I ate a biriyani which even I was shocked about as haven't been eating. So now I am a mess and think it's over! Scan on Wednesday and I have mentally prepared myself for it to be over.

This can turn you crazy!!

funkymonk · 12/06/2016 20:21

Stealth you have had a very busy few days!
Vixx, I'm sure all will be ok. How far along are you? Are you still on the progesterone? If not then I have a stash I can send you if desired.

Grumpelstiltskin · 12/06/2016 20:35

Oh poor you, Vixx, that sounds tough-going. You know symptoms can fluctuate though- look at stealth. Hopefully you feeling so pants ( even if not today) is a good thing. Have everything crossed for you for Weds.

Ah funky I feel bad for you. As the others have said, it is super-early, but I know how hard it is seeing only that single line. I really hope you get better news in a couple of days.

Rose sorry to hear you had a moment earlier but that line is quite literally the darkest one I've ever seen! GrinAre you getting an earlier beta or hanging on at this point?

Sounds like a fab (if jam-packed) weekend, stealth. Hope you had loads of fun and are now due a bit of a rest! I'm so impressed by your stamina, I'm tired just reading about your last week.

So we're in, and mostly unpacked. There's a vague order to the chaos, anyway! God, I am knackered. Got up at 11am today and have only slowly pootled around the house and immediate surrounding area but am totally done in. Luckily I have the day off tomorrow too, so one job is to register with a new GP and be all like, hello I am very nervously and newly pregnant so can I have some more thyroxine please and wtf is the prenatal set up in this here new part of town?
I've got my viability scan booked in at the clinic for 29 June - will be 6+5, the same as last time. Bricking it, natch.

Hope you all have relaxing Sunday nights X

Vixxfacee · 12/06/2016 21:04

Funky that is very kind of you. I am on progesterone pessaries twice a day. I am 7 weeks and 3 days!

Grump how you feeling? Any symptoms yet or has the moving given you a good distraction. Roll on your scan and getting to see your babies heartbeat. We need a nickname for little grump!

Grumpelstiltskin · 12/06/2016 21:16

Haha DH will tell you I'm living up to my username tonight. To be fair he is being v annoying! Wink

Just have a bit of AF-like cramping on and off, not really anything else. Plus overall tiredness and narkiness tonight, though could attribute this to the busy weekend... Off to bed it is!

stealthbanana · 12/06/2016 22:06

Oh vixx how stressful. The vomiting is a good sign, hopefully everything is absolutely fine.

grumpel when is your first scan? How many days to grow steadily ever more crazy?

Nausea is definitely subsiding vixx which I'm trying to not stress out about. I think week 11 is usually when symptoms start to fade as the placenta takes over she says nervously and disbelievingly. To offset that though I've started getting pulling and stretching again which I'll take as a good sign. Really wish I was having my 12w scan at 12w rather than bloody 13+4. Although I am having my consultant initial appointment at 12+5 so am secretly hoping he'll do a bonus mini scan for me then.

RoseBud2016 · 13/06/2016 07:07

Funky I'm sorry to hear about the BFN but as everyone else has said it is very early and from reading other threads in the past, I think many people don't get a positive until a bit later. But I understand why you feel upset Flowers There is still a lot of hope! X

Stealth Your weekend sounds amazing! Were you in Iceland by any chance? It sounds like it- that's on my "to do" list!
You are heading towards the 2nd tri glow Grin

Vixx That sounds just awful! If you still aren't keeping fluids down I think you need to get yourself to the doctor pronto. You will be getting dehydrated and they will need to give you something to help. Please don't suffer without seeking help x

Grumpel I'm not surprised you are exhausted. Moving house is exhausting at the best of times! I couldn't imagine doing it at the mo- at least you are over the worst of it now.... It's mainly finding a home for everything which, in my world, is the fun bit.
Grin at Little Grump. Love it!

OTD is tomorrow. Could only get beta appointments for Weds and Fri this week Angry Going to try and get a cancellation this morn for a first appointment for today but I'm not holding my breath (Reprofit usually want 3 betas drawn Shock)

I don't live on this thread but just wanted to put my head around the door and say a cautious congrats to you Rosebud - remember me? You cheered me up when I was in a very dark place back in March and I was so thrilled to see this latest news - best of luck for the next stage.

And congrats to you Vixx think we've chatted before.
AFM I will be starting IVF in Homerton next month. I'm encouraged to see your good news!

Good luck to everyone else on the thread, hope it's a lucky'un.

Smile
Vixxfacee · 13/06/2016 22:01

StealthStealth the pulling feeling sounds good. Has the carb belly gone? You will get your little belly popping out soon. Glad the nausea is subsiding, you're nearly out of the first trimester!

Grumpel I am really impressed with how calm you are. Wish I was more like you.

Rose your lines are so dark, I have no doubt your betas are going to be high.

Rebecca, Thank you. I'm with Homerton too! Any questions you have let me know. Are you having a fresh or frozen cycle?

stealthbanana · 13/06/2016 22:36

rose hope you managed to get a cancellation this morning and it was good news. Keeping everything crossed for you. And, yes, it was Iceland! Good detective skills! It was great would have been better if I'd not been pregnant

vixx yes carb belly has gone and I have just in the last few days started to get a tiny little baby belly - v low down and just starting to peek out. I'll be 12 weeks on Saturday, I can't believe it! Hopefully my skin will clear up at some point, I'm so spotty and I normally have excellent skin so I just don't know how to deal with it.

rebecca welcome! Thanks for the good wishes, this is an awesome group of women.

funky any updates from you? Really hoping you get a BFP any day now.

RoseBud2016 · 14/06/2016 06:20

Rebecca Hello lovely! Of course I remember you! So glad that you are feeling more optimistic now and things are moving along nicely for you Smile When do you hope to start in July?
Thank you- as you say still very early days but I have hope, and that's a lot more than I had a few months ago!

Vixx What time is your scan tomorrow? Im counting down with you!

Stealth The springs gave it away Grin A friend of mine went recently and it looks incredible.
Aww little actual baby bump...Stealthini is doing some home improvements!
No cancellations were available unfortunately so Weds it is- and then probably won't get results until Thurs.

funkymonk · 14/06/2016 10:19

7dp5dt and still bfn for me. This has to be a definitive result by now. stealth sorry, I missed to say the blast was grade 4 so not quite hatching yet. I thought maybe that meant I'd be slightly later with a bfp, but it's still not here so I think its game-over. Apparently we have a grade 5 in the freezer but the cell quality wasn't quite as good as this grade 4. Anyway, I should have known better than to join a thread full of good news I shall sneak out now after my brief stay!
Wishing you all the very best and sticky beans all round Flowers

stealthbanana · 14/06/2016 13:35

I'm really sorry to hear that funky. Please don't feel you have to sneak out! This thread has been about support in the bad times as well as celebrating the good.

Just wanted to share some good news - we got our panorama test results back and it's a BOY!! Making it all feel a bit real now

RoseBud2016 · 14/06/2016 14:32

Funky Please don't slip out! I know you probably don't want to hear this but there IS still time especially as it wasn't a hatching blast.
I really hope that yours is just a little slow off the mark. I'm on a thread where a few ladies didn't get their BFP until 11dp5dt (and they were using FRER too!) and have since given birth to healthy babies. It does happen! Xxx

Stealth A boy! Congratulations! This sh@t is getting real now, isn't it?! Grin

OP posts:
Grumpelstiltskin · 14/06/2016 17:34

A BOY!! SmileSmileSmile
Wonderful news, stealth! A little stealthino! Did you have a particular prediction as to gender beforehand? I always tend to say boy for everyone as out of the literally thousands of annoyingly fertile friends, colleagues and family having children all around me, there have so far only been 2 girls. Weird.

Fuzzy keeping the faith for you. Hope your embie is just a bit of a slow starter. Flowers

Good luck for tomorrow rose and vixx!

Grumpelstiltskin · 14/06/2016 17:36

Fuzzy? Random autocorrect! Obvs mean funky!

Vixxfacee · 14/06/2016 21:31

Congratulations stealth!!! A boy, that is amazing! Star

Funky you're not out yet, when is your OTD?

Rose you ready for tomorrow? My scan is at 11:40. Going to call drs in the morning, can't even keep water down now!

stealthbanana · 14/06/2016 22:57

Thanks guys. It is pretty cool. grumpel I didn't have any particular feeling about it, it's still so early. So weird to think that it's all settled already.

vixx GOOD LUCK tomorrow. Am really hopeful you will see a healthy bouncing baby in there. And don't be scared to ask for antiemetics for the vomiting. I have used them, they are safe and much better for you and baby that you can keep liquids and food down.

Vixxfacee · 15/06/2016 13:04

Just had my scan. Saw a baby shaped blob! Been discharged from the clinic now. I am actually measuring a few days ahead.

Hopefully I can relax a little bit now. I have lots of little bleeds and bruising on my womb so they said to expect spotting.

Waiting for the doctor now to see if they can give me anti sickness medication as they test my urine and I'm dehydrated.

Grumpelstiltskin · 15/06/2016 13:50

Vixx that's awesome news! So pleased for you. Well done Babyvixx.
Hopefully you can get some meds to help you feel a bit better too.

Rose have you done your beta?

Vixxfacee · 15/06/2016 13:52

Thank you! Got some meds for sickness 3 a day.

Yes come on Rose update us.

stealthbanana · 15/06/2016 14:33

Wonderful news vixx. Sorry you're bruised (how does that happen) but fantastic that babyvixx is alright

rose fx for a nice strong beta today - hopefully you don't have to wait til tomorrow for results.
