WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Simmy FlowersFlowersFlowers Thank you for updating us on how you are doing. Have you considered embryo adoption (before going down the 'full' adoption route) or is it not something you would be willing to try?

At Reprofit it's 1140 euros for one embryo plus meds and flights.

Just something you might be want to consider maybe?

Xxx

Simmy so lovely to see you still posting and to hear that you have a plan of action going forward. Whatever route you eventually decide upon I hope it works out for you. Flowers Do keep posting and letting us know how you're getting on.

Vixx All things crossed for OTD confirming what the FRERs have already shown!

Afm, scan today showed good progress. One dominant follie at 18mm on the right side, nice triple layer lining. Probably going to pop tomorrow or Wed as predicted. Consultant did tell me off for using CB and IC OPKs though, apparently I should be using Boots ones. No one told me that previously!! So off to Boots I trotted. Now the owner of approx 58282 OPKs across three brands. Confused Might just have to do three at once every wee now to feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Simmy123 · 23/05/2016 18:51

Thank you Rose and Grumpel.

Rose, I had not herd about embryo adoption before. Just thinking about the risk, how would one know they are getting good with embryos?

Would like to know more, do you have a contact / website for Reprofit please and where are they based?

stealthbanana · 23/05/2016 19:33

simmy so glad you checked in and that you are doing ok and making plans. Chin up.

grumpel glad your body is cooperating. For future reference I have a whole box of boots opks that I foolishly optimistically bought when I went off the pill. Never used them as started on the cheapies and never even got close to getting a positive so stashed them away and forgot about them. Free to a good home! Anyway hope your ovaries continue to be cooperative & your lining stays plush.

RoseBud2016 · 23/05/2016 19:38

Grumpel hurray for the juicy follie and the millions of opks! Who knew they would prefer Boots ones over CB! You learn something new every day. What's so great about these ones? Lights and buzzers?! Grin

Simmy Reprofit is the Czech Republic in a place called Brno. There are direct flights there with Ryanair from Stansted and Wizzair from Luton.
Prague is a 2 hour coach journey away so many ladies fly to there and then coach it the rest of the way, but DH and I fly direct to Brno because we live on the South Coast.
They have fantastic success rates for both own egg, donor egg and donor embryo IVF. You can opt to have the embryo tested (PGS) prior to transfer and they will 'match' you with the perfect embryo in terms of ethnicity, build, hair colour, eye colour etc of the donors. I'm not knowledgable on the ins and outs of it all because we are still using our own embryos but it is certainly something we will be exploring if the time comes. There is no waiting list at the moment!
Their website is very informative- http://www.reprofit.cz

And Fertility Friends website have a forum (which I'm on) dedicated to Reprofit clients. The link is here: http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=345002.500

There are lots of ladies on there having donor embryos transferred so you would be in excellent company and they are very knowledgable so can answer your questions far better than I can. Come and join us! Smile

Thank you Rose, I will join you on the Reprofit website

Vixxfacee · 24/05/2016 15:37

Glad to see you back Simmy and seemingly positive. I have heard a lot of good things about Roses clinic and embryo adoption could be something to look into before adoption.

I am surprised you haven't had some of the tests already thought? Are you in the UK?

Grumpel good news on the follicle. How will you know it's about to pop? Or do you just dtd from yesterday?

Had my blood test this morning and got my results a few hours ago. My levels are 1767 ! They basically said congratulations you are pregnant and will send you a letter for a scan in 3 weeks.

Grumpelstiltskin · 24/05/2016 17:34

Hooray, excellent news, vixx! Hope you're feeling nice and reassured.

I'm just plugging through the OPKs and also temping to try and catch the surge. Follie had a couple more days' growth in it on Monday's scan so tomorrow is what we reckon. Am getting a faint opk line but not a strong, real one yet.
We discussed if dtd was ok and will try it up until ET- no harm done really also no real chance of conception either based on previous efforts.

Vixxfacee · 24/05/2016 18:01

Feeling better, will relax a bit once I've had the viability scan. Still doesn't feel really.

Hopefully tomorrow is your day!

RoseBud2016 · 24/05/2016 18:11

Vixx so so pleased your HCG is looking nice and strong! Are you having another blood test or just waiting for the scan now?
I think the next weeks are going to draaaaaaggggg for you but I am so excited for you. Really hope this is it!

Grumpel Come on follie! And come on to the spermz too! No harm in having a little ironidiff fantasy alongside IVF! X

Vixxfacee · 24/05/2016 18:18

Thanks Rose. My clinic do not do the 2 different blood tests. They just test on day 14 and want anything over 100.
The next 3 weeks are definitely going to drag! Just hoping that nothing happens before that.

What is going on with you?

RoseBud2016 · 24/05/2016 18:28

Vixx Not a lot just taking my Estrofem tablets 3 times s day and looking forward Hmm to starting my progesterone arse injections on Thurs!
Just want to get out there now. ET is 2:30pm at Tuesday 31st May.

Do something that you won't be able to do with a baby in tow or pregnant!

Half term is my business time so unfortunately will be working.

Simmy123 · 24/05/2016 19:26

Vixx, that is really good news, congratulation.
What test/s are you referring to that I should have done? I live in London.

stealthbanana · 24/05/2016 19:27

Hurrah vixx! Such exciting news. That is a GREAT hcg number.

grumpel not long to go now is it possible to ironidiff AND have a transfer in the same cycle

rose DEFINITELY do lots of fun non prego stuff - go to a spa and have a boiling hot jacuzzi, sauna etc, then a juicy rare steak with some champagne and red wine

Am so excited it's all happening for you guys!

Not much to report on my end. Next scan booked 6 June, which will also be the Panorama test. All the pasta is starting to take its toll and I am developing a very unsightly bit of flab on my stomach. Although of course my boobs still haven't grown 😂. Still have moments of utter dread that stealthini has perished without me knowing but have managed to avoid the crazy and book a reassurance scan between now and 6 June so I'm giving myself a small amount of points for that.

Vixxfacee · 24/05/2016 19:31

Stealth that's not pasta that's the beginning of a bump Grin

I don't blame you for getting another scan! You are nearly through the first hurdle.

Simmy have you had the test where they flush dye through your tubes? I can't remember what it is called hyco something.

Grumpelstiltskin · 24/05/2016 19:32

Haha can you imagine an ironidiff AND a successful frostie implantation simultaneously? Weirdest twin situation ever. But I guess it's strictly possible. Hmm.

Vixxfacee · 24/05/2016 19:33

Grumpel are you have 1 or 2 embies transferred? Could be a potential triplets situation!

stealthbanana · 24/05/2016 19:33

Er vixx it ain't no bump Grin DEFINITELY white carbs related.

Am not going to have a scan as am off on vacation on Friday and so won't be back until Friday before my scan and it's not worth doing it 3 days before. So feel quite proud I've managed to hold out this week.

grumpel I KNOW. Presumably it's technically possible, no?!

RoseBud2016 · 24/05/2016 19:47

Stealth Grin at your little flab baby/belly! I say eat whatever you feel like whilst you are feeling sicky. Deal with the repercussions later!
Where are you off to for your hols? Have an amazing time!

Grumpel I'm pretty sure a FET-ironidiff combo is medically possible and I think you are just the lady to prove it!!! Grin

Loving the non-preggo weekend suggestions....... I'm onto it! X

Ha rose. Sadly I'm still feeling unwell enough that don't have much choice - am defo in survival mode. Think it has as much to do with the fact that I've stopped exercising as diet too!

Vixxfacee · 26/05/2016 12:03

Hi everyone, woke up with a strange feeling in my stomach that I had when I had my previous miscarriage. Now have pink spotting and my boobs are no longer hurting . Not looking good Sad
