WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Stealth thanks lovely. I'll email Reprofit and phone my NHS consultant in the morning. It's never simple, is it?! X

It's possible of course. And it could just be your lining breaking down although as your sonographer said you can usually see v clearly when the lining is getting ready to shed on a scan. Most importantly, I'd just want to know what was going on with that fired up ovary of yours!

stealthbanana · 12/05/2016 21:13

Sorry x post. Yes I do think you need to follow this one up. Sorry...it's been such a rollercoaster for you xx

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 21:13

It is so odd. If you didn't have that scan you would have just thought it was AF and then started getting ready for FET. Definitely contact your clinic!

Grumpelstiltskin · 13/05/2016 11:24

Rose, wtf?? WHY do bodies do this?! Hope you've managed to talk to some knowledgable medical types today.** Sure does sound like AF but who knows?

Keep going vixx! Sounds like an encouraging sign.

Nearly there simmy, thinking of you.

Hope no there's no puking today, stealth. Keeping all things crossed for stealthini on Mon.

So, AF has started here. Yay(? Hmm) Once the nice painkilling drugs have kicked in and I stop feeling so crampy and CD1-ish, will call the clinic to book in the first scan. Yikes.

DH also rather sweetly pointed out yesterday that since frostigrump is coming back out of the freezer so soon, we get £150 back off storage costs to spend on progesterone and Clexane a nice treat. Going to go out for some posh sushi and cocktails tomorrow in the hope that I won't be having any more for a while.

Have good weekends, all.

Grumpelstiltskin · 13/05/2016 11:25

I'm really going to stop trying to embolden things on the app. Confused

Vixxfacee · 13/05/2016 11:32

Fantastic news that AF has started!
How long will the cycle take from now do you think? Drink lots of sushi and get really drunk!

Rose have you heaRd anything yet?

My little cramps have disappeared. Woke up today feeling it is all over. Need to get a grip!

Grumpelstiltskin · 13/05/2016 12:24

Vixx I think I have a couple of scans, with these and OPKs try and catch the LH surge, nip to clinic, pop the frostie in and grab the progesterone. So could be PUPO in 12-14 days. Shock

Vixxfacee · 13/05/2016 12:32

Shock I really hope we get some more good luck on this thread!

RoseBud2016 · 13/05/2016 13:50

Grumpel Looks like we are well and truly cycle buddies!!! Reprofit have confirmed that I am CD1 today...... SNAP!!! Grin

Vixx I am passing you a grip >>>>>> It's so so hard not to read into everything. You're body is doing great- just try to keep your mind occupied as much as you can xxx

AFM- So the bleeding is 100% AF! It's heavy and clotty, and I have AF cramps. Reprofit have said that they don't think that the dominant follicle is anything to worry about. Either it is a dominant follicle or a small cyst but either way the consultant is convinced that the Estrofem will shrink it and "clear it out". She said it isn't uncommon for women to have small cysts just before their period but most people wouldn't even know that they are there.

So I'm CD1 and have to have a scan on CD8 Smile What I mad roller-coaster these last few days have been! Luckily I have a full body massage booked for later today so I can chill out a little then.
I start my Estrofem tablets 2mg 3 times a day on CD3. Feel happy to get started...... let's be honest natural ttc was never going to work Wink

Yay cycle buddies! Grin
Great to hear you have a plan of action after this week's rollercoaster.

stealthbanana · 13/05/2016 15:00

Great news rose! At least plan ironidiff was fun ;)

Onwards!

I am having a proper wobble today. Am absolutely convinced this has not worked and I'm lugging around a ball of dead cells. Aaaaah. Monday can't come fast enough - just want to know one way or another.

Vixxfacee · 13/05/2016 15:05

Wow so rose and grumpel are cycle buddies and are on the way! That's all of us now.

Stealth you're definitely pregnant! You have done so well so far. Your beta was great. Not long to go until your scan! (Then another 33 weeks Grin

It is so hard not to read into everything isn't it. I have decided on the way to work that if it doesn't work I am going to change my job and get fit. I have put on a stone since April!

Vixxfacee · 13/05/2016 15:14

Oh and thanks for the grip Rose!

Simmy123 · 13/05/2016 19:58

Hi All,
This thread has moved on since I last checked it yesterday morning.

Grumpel and Rose, I happy for you both.

Stealth and Vixx, I know it is hard but you both have to continue to have some hope that all isn't gone.

Vixx, yes I have read that pineapple and Brazil nuts are good to eat during the 2 wks wait - had my fair share of them since my FET. Also been taking Utericalm and have been juicing everyday (greens and beetroot)

Vixx, I experienced cramps on and off mostly during the 1st 4 days - more pronounced when didn't have enough liquid especially warm or not eaten regularly. More cramps yesterday and today after doing a 2.5 hrs round trip drive to work and working all day. My challenge now will be to keep work related stress at bay. Wanted to do ocupuncture today but my Chinese Doc sent me away and told me to returned in 2 months when pregnancy is more established - though his colleague told me otherwise last Sunday.

Viixx, do you currently feel bloated of feel and different now compared to how you felt b4 transfer? The best way to get though the next two weeks for you would be to throw yourself into work as a distraction but at the same time to try not to overdo things.
How is your diet? are you staying away from non-organic dairy, gluten, etc? Hard but apparently this helps.

Vixxfacee · 14/05/2016 01:04

Hi Simmy, I am having pineapple and Brazil nuts everyday. I have the same father stomach I've had since starting ivf. No more cramps. I'm not positive and have resigned myself that it's not going to work. I should feel something by now.

The cramps for you sound like something is happening down there! Not long to go for you at all x

Simmy123 · 14/05/2016 04:56

Hi Vixx, I know exactly what you are going through.
Do you live in London?

How long to go before your free IVF treatment on the NHS stops and how many free try's are you allowed?

RoseBud2016 · 14/05/2016 06:39

This is such a long and difficult process, and the stress and worry just never ends! First you worry about not getting enough eggs, then that they won't fertilise, then that they won't back it to blasts, then that your lining won't be good enough to support an embie, then that the embie won't implant and then that it won't survive the first trimester.

Fertile women only have the last bit to worry about- we are all so strong to put ourselves through all this! Stealth and Vixx You are honestly both doing great! Particularly in the circumstances we find ourselves in. I know nothing any of us say will make your fears go away but we can empathise with you both and are willing your little ones on! Xxx

Simmy OTD is tomorrow!!!! Eek! How are you feeling about testing? You weren't temped to test this morn?

stealthbanana · 14/05/2016 06:54

Have just woken up and had some brown & mucousy blood when I went to the loo and wiped. I really think it's all over girls Sad

Nothing to be done before Monday but it's not looking good.

RoseBud2016 · 14/05/2016 07:10

Stealth Brown blood is old blood right? So it might not mean anything bad!
I thought it was bright red blood that can be a bad indicator. That alongside pains- do you have any pains?

FlowersFlowersFlowers It might be worth a trip to EPU, or at least a phone call just to try and put your mind at rest xxx

stealthbanana · 14/05/2016 07:24

I've got a v mild period-y feeling which I've had all week. Woke up with a cramp in the middle of the night but I think that's because I ate some VERY rich food last night (which I knew was a mistake when I was eating it!).

I just have a bad feeling about this.

I'm actually away from home - we are out in the countryside celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend Hmm so there's not really much I can do, I don't particularly want to run back to london.

Aaaaaargh.

RoseBud2016 · 14/05/2016 07:36

Stealth I think very mild cramping is normal, particularly at 4-8 weeks.

I wouldn't rush back to London for a scan when you have one booked for Monday. But maybe a phone call describing your worries might put your mind at rest. I have a feeling EPU will say old brown blood is ok but hearing it from them will hopefully allow you to enjoy your weekend a little more.

Thinking of you Flowers

stealthbanana · 14/05/2016 07:45

Thanks rose. Just have this bad feeling it's the start of something worse. Will have to just deal with it if that's what happens, I suppose.

I will see how I go today and maybe ring the EPU - as you say, they're unlikely to be able to say much either way.

Vixxfacee · 14/05/2016 14:30

Stealth like rose said it's very normal. You have your scan monday keep strong! With my miscarriage it was bright red blood.
I know it's hard but it will make it a bit smoother for you once you see that heartbeat monday!

Rose thank you for that message it was really nice x

Simmy I'm in London are you? I have 2 more goes on the NHS.
