WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Grin enjoy your evening!

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 22:09

Whoop! Have fun rose, ironidiff or not! 😜

Grumpelstiltskin · 11/05/2016 22:16

Ha! Rose hope you're having fun tonight Wink. Can't believe you just had a ripening follie there all along! Bodies are very weird things. Fingers crossed for the ironidiff - that would be awesome.

Simmy hope you're feeling ok and the last few days before OTD aren't dragging too badly.
*
Vixx*, you hanging in there during the 1dpt freak out ? Hope you're finding lots of distracting things to do like MNing

at stealth and stealthini

As for me, I'm feeling decidedly periody tonight so may well have to call the bat phone (aka clinic) this actual week to get the ball rolling ShockShockShock
If that's the case, I estimate transfer will be around end-may/ maybe early June. In other words, almost certainly when I'll be moving house and just before my boss disappears on a biz trip for three weeks leaving me all her work. Classic.

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 22:21

Love that stealthini gets bolded! let's hope s/he actually exists

Aaah timing is always bad. On the bright side if your boss isn't around you can go mental in your own way without someone looking over you. And excellent excuse to hire some movers - you won't be in any state to do heavy lifting, after all! Very exciting you can get going.

Grumpelstiltskin · 11/05/2016 22:41

Well, attempted bold, at least! I always bodge it up a good few times in a thread.

Keep the faith, stealth! Obvs we all know the stats and the depressing possibilities but you're in with a good chance. How're the symptoms going?

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 23:06

Have had a couple of vile days of vomiting this week, which I assume is my progesterone injections kicking in. Other days have been "fine", just nauseous. Have been working from home as it's easier when I can lie down regularly. Going to office tomorrow though.

Other than that, some cramps and not much else. No bloating or boobs growing shame or anything else at all.

Roll on Monday! Am absolutely bricking it for my scan.

Grumpelstiltskin · 12/05/2016 07:33

Stealth I can only let you know from my experience but I had no nausea at all when pg, a fact which my consultant pulled a face at just before I had the second scan that was ultimately bad news. So feeling rough is a really good sign!

stealthbanana · 12/05/2016 08:02

Thanks grumpel! I think it's less conclusive either way given how much artificial progesterone I'm on - I'm doing Lubion injections AND two Cyclogest suppositories a day so that's going to make anyone feel rough! Fingers crossed it's a good sign though. When does the anxiety end?!

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 08:18

Great news grumpel! Hopefully you can get the ball rolling. How are you feeling about it?

Stealth you can start to get a tiny bit excited! But I understand the apprehension. Once you have the scan I'm sure you will be feeling a little more positive.

Simmy how are you feeling today? OTD is very soon for you!

Fingers crossed for you Rose Wink

I am feeling the same, not very positive and googling every minute!

Simmy123 · 12/05/2016 09:49

Hi All, happier time of us. I'm really happy things are moving for you all. Hopefully by mid to end of June we will all be / still be PUPO then we can all transfer to a new thread that reads something on the lines of " Successful IVF pregnancy in June / July"Smile

Can't wait for Sunday to come but currently distracted with work stuff and applying for new jobs so the time is going quickly.

Vixx, I haven't been tempted to do an early pregnancy test, I guess because each day I can still feel that pulling feeling in my tummy that Rose described - though yesterday morning I panic for half hour when I could not feel anything.
My Husband "freaked me out" yesterday when he put his ears to my tummy and pretended to be speaking to 3 babies. NO, not 3 babies, the 3 embryos were just for back-up so at least 1 would stick. I'm nearing mid 40's and havent much time or finance to be running back and forth to IVF clinic.

Googling Vixx? sound familiar, found myself doing a lot of that the 1st 5 days following FET - from the best food to eat, suitable exercise to last night raw garlic. Google has been my best friend for the past 2 year and more so the past 9 days. I guess you are still at home resting, when do u return to work? Found the first 6 days I couldn't physically do much without feeling the strain on my tummy, so best to take it easy as much as you can. I'm planning to book a session of occupuncture for tomorrow to help me relax - one last push to Sunday.

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 10:17

Hi Simmy, it would be lovely for us all to be on a fet graduate thread together Smile

I am glad you are feeling happier and more positive!

I am staying away from Google as I am just worrying myself.

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 10:31

I am back at work tomorrow so only have had 3 days off.

Has your stomach been sore since transfe

RoseBud2016 · 12/05/2016 12:32

Grumpel Any sign of AF today? Like Stealth said, I don't think there is ever a good time so I think you should just go with it and try not to worry. You can always take some time off/get signed off for a few days if you feel you need to nearer the time.

Stealth Your symptoms sound nasty but also strangely reassuring! It HAS to be a sign of nice high hormones levels and not just the progesterone. Your scan will be here in no time x

Vixx Keep the faith lovely- It's still very early days for you. Do you feel ready to be back at work? Have you considered taking a few extra days off just to be sure? Is it an option?

Simmy This all sounds good to me Smile Just imagine if there are triplets in there!!!! Shock Pleeeeeease let us all be graduate by July....... we all so deserve it at this stage. By the way I am in awe of your strength to not test early- 3 days to go! Smile

AFM- stage one of operation ironidiff complete Grin What do you all think I should do now.......a) no DTD tonight then DTD Fri, Sat, Sun, b) DTD tonight then not Fri, then DTD Sun and Sun, or c) DTD every night until Sunday?? I don't know what to do for the best! Help!

RoseBud2016 · 12/05/2016 12:33

BTW the irony has not escaped me that you will all have had an embryo transfer before me, despite me starting this thread and originally planning my FET for April!!!!

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 13:02

I would have taken off at least a week but I have a work trip away this weekend that I cannot get out of it! I have been crying today which is not like me at the likelihood it's not going to work but I am guessing this is all normal!

I would dtd everyday to be sure but they said every other day! Have you tried the fertility lube and doing Brazil nuts and pineapple as well, keeping legs up in the air etc Grin

Grumpelstiltskin · 12/05/2016 14:29

Nope, I'm doing a rose and all AF symptoms have disappeared again! I do usually have pre-AF cramps for a day or two before she reads her ugly head though so no need to get excited this end.

Great to hear stage 1 is complete! I personally would do eod as DH has light MFI and this is the advice we were given to 'build them back up a bit again first' each time. Maybe two days in a row just on/after ov.

Sorry to hear you're emotional, vixx, but totally understandable what with the situation and the hormones whizzing around. Be kind to yourself. Chocolate

YES- so hope we all have a new grads thread by July!!
I am being strangely prosaic ATM though and the idea of having to cycle again if the FET fails isn't stressing me too much. I guess like stealth I'm thinking this one teeny embie couldn't possibly cling on and go the distance so am mentally preparing myself for the next stage.

stealthbanana · 12/05/2016 17:20

rose I'd probably go for the compromise option of every 36 hours. Split the difference Grin

Ffs does AF never turn up when it's expected to? I'm literally in awe of all these women who have regular cycles - imagine!

simmy you're doing so well to hold out to OTD. Keeping everything crossed for you

vixx how are you bearing up? Another day of interminable waiting almost over....

Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 20:27

I can't believe it has only been 2 days for me it is torture. Getting some light pains down below. Not sure if I am imagining it Confused

RoseBud2016 · 12/05/2016 20:50

Ladies I'm sorry to be so me me me today but I need advice (again)

The saga of my f@@ked up body continues. I've started bleeding! At first I wondered if it was ov bleeding but now it's clotty too! And I've got really severe cramps. What the hell is going on???? Any ideas?

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 20:51

So on your scan they said you are about to ovulate?

Could it be your induced period that has just come VERY late?

RoseBud2016 · 12/05/2016 20:55

That's what I would have assumed Vixx but at my scan yesterday morn the sonographer said that my lining was stable and showed no shows of shedding (apparently lining becomes white on the screen when it's about to shed!) Confused Maybe she was mistaken!

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 12/05/2016 20:58
Confused This may be tmi but could dtd have irritated you? The most obvious reason is the induced bleed but that doesn't explain the lining.
stealthbanana · 12/05/2016 21:02

Wtf rose?! I think you'll have to go back and have another scan. Really it could be anything. Cyst, low thyroid, drop in estrogen or just bleeding and oving at the same time! It's not normal though so you should get it checked out. This is just getting ridiculous!

Flowers for you

RoseBud2016 · 12/05/2016 21:04

I feel like it's AF though! Defo AF style cramps! I think It's too much of a bleed to be irritation although that did cross my mind at first. I suppose I'll know for definite in the morning whether it is AF.
God knows what happens if it is!
