WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

Thank you Grin

RoseBud2016 · 10/05/2016 15:17

Aww so so happy for you Vixx You have waited so long for this. I'm excited for you! X

Had an appointment with my NHS consultant today (pure coincidence that it falls when my AF is AWOL but good timing nonetheless!) She thinks I probably have no lining to shed and that's why AF isn't coming- maybe due to stress/not sleeping properly/hormone imbalances so has booked me in for a lining scan in the morning. I'm hoping that my lining will be super thin and Reprofit will then give me the green light to get started! Fingers crossed!

Oh- that's potentially good news coming out an annoying situation rose! Really hope you can crack on.
Fx crossed for scan tomorrow. Blimey, it's all happening at the mo!

stealthbanana · 10/05/2016 17:06

Ooh that's great news rose. Fx that you are nice and smooth and thin and you can get going pronto!

Exciting times around these parts. (Ironically autocorrect changed "exciting times" to "medicating times" - how apt!)

Vixxfacee · 10/05/2016 20:20

Thank you Rose. Finally got to this point!

Wow at having no lining to shed. Let us know what happens at your scan. Fingers crossed x

Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 08:35

I have woken up today freaking out that I can feel it's not going to work. Is this normal!

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 08:37

Erm YES. Go back and look at my posts from 1-5dpo on this thread Grin Was convinced it hadn't worked. The 2ww is the absolute worst!

Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 08:47

Going to read brb Grin

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 08:48

From 16 April (1dpo):

Woke up this morning absolutely convinced it hadn't worked - a feeling of 100% certainty. Just need to stop being so ridiculous and forget about it for a week or so fat chance

Grin
Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 08:58

I just read that bit. Exactly how I feel!

You started feeling sick 4 days later and got a bfp after 5 days! I have been told not to test until 24th Sad

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 09:12

You see! Grin

Remember that I had an almost fully hatched blast. My doctor told me after seeing it on the microscope on the day of transfer that it was hatching so well implantation could begin as early as the evening I had the transfer. So I was effectively minimum 1-2 days ahead where others might be (what stage was your blast?).

Even then my doctor told me not to test until 12dpt!

So try not to stress. I know it's awful. I was a nightmare during still am TBH

Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 09:22

What do you mean by stage?
They didn't mention hatching :(
Just said it looks great and doesn't look like it was frozen, that it was doing what it was doing before it was frozen.

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 09:29

Don't worry, it's not good or bad either way!

There are different stages to the blastocyst stage. Basically what happens is that the blast has an outer but (the trophectoderm) and an inner bit (called the inner cell mass, or icm). The trophectoderm goes on to become the placenta and the icm becomes the baby. What happens is that the trophectoderm cracks and the icm hatches out of it (like an egg hatching). Some blasts haven't hatched yet at the time of transfer, these are called expanding or expanded blastocysts. And some, like mine, have!

Have a google if you want to read up, but it's absolutely nothing to be worried about - it's just got to do with how fast they implant as the icm obviously can't implant until it has hatched! The most important thing is that your blast thawed perfectly.

Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 09:31

Thank you for explaining to me. Sorry for being a pain Grin

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 09:40

Not at all! It is very confusing. Annoyingly there are no magic signs that can reassure you in this bit. Keep your chin up! X

RoseBud2016 · 11/05/2016 09:58

Vixx were your embryos frozen after 5 days in the lab? Or 3 days? Easier said than done but try not to compare yourself to other cos everyone's embryos will be a slightly different stages when transferred so implantation may happen early/ later. Either way your little embie will still be finding a good position at the mo. Give it time Smile xxx

So my news is.... I have a triple striped 9mm lining and a 16mm dominant follicle on my left ovary!!! I'm CD40 and stopped Provera 11 days ago...... WTF???! I can't believe I'm about to ov. The absolute irony of it all!
Waiting to hear back from Reprofit as to what they want me to do. I assume they will get us to ttc naturally and do FET in June now Craziness.

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 10:15

It was a day 5 blastocyst so frozen at day 5.

Omg rose! This is such a roller coaster.

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 10:32

Omg rose! This is just getting ridiculous! I told you it was your month to instadiff! Get home and get shagging!

stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 10:45

rose your DH has sperm issues right? If so reprofit might just want you to do a natural FET if you can manage it logistics wise?

Report back on what they say! This is crazy!

RoseBud2016 · 11/05/2016 10:52

Stealth this is exactly what I was thinking! It's not ideal timing wise because my students start exam next week but if we flew over the weekend it COULD work!

I'll update as soon as I hear back I wish they would hurry up! Confused

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 11/05/2016 11:08

Did you get bloods to measure estrogen this morning? the timing is a bit awkward because presumably the quickest you could transfer would be mon/tues (trigger tonight, then 5 days past ov until transfer). OR leave it to ov by yourself in which case it might not happen until the weekend and then you could fly next weekend. So you might be able to make it work!!

HURRY UP reprofit!

Simmy123 · 11/05/2016 12:05

Hi **Vixx, I know the feeling of freaking out, I felt that way on day 2 after fet and this morning. Just try convincing myself that I'm POPO. Test date Is this Sunday, 15th.
Just be strong.

**Rose, good to hear things are moving forward

Vixxfacee · 11/05/2016 15:30

Rose let us know!

Simmy are you going to test before the official test day and have you been keeping busy?

RoseBud2016 · 11/05/2016 15:43

Not long to go then Simmy That has gone soooo quickly! (probably not for you though!)

So I've finally heard back from the Reprofit and my consultant doesn't want me to try a natural FET. She thinks my hormones imbalances are too problematic, which is fair enough! So the plan is to tttc naturally this cycle. Wait for the inevitable AF and then fly over for my FET. So June it is.....Grumpel this is looking like we might become cycle buddies Grin Every cloud........Grin
