Hello!

We had IVF ICSI in January 2014 which resulted in our little boy born in October 2014. We started trying again when he's was 9 months hoping that nature would be on our side this time but after 3 months we decided to speak to the FC again to see if it was even worth bothering to try naturally. It wasn't and so we are to start IVF again very soon.

Looking for others going through the same thing if possible to be my buddy's Smile

That's a fantastic line! Congrats xx

Julie2908 · 17/11/2016 16:53

I'm still scared it will change tho I've tested now 5dpt 6dpt and 7 all positives x

GilbertBlythe4JM · 17/11/2016 17:10

The reason I always do frer ones is to check the line is getting stronger (I've had two cp plus one success so I've seen lines getting stronger and lines getting weaker) but the clear blue isn't so sensitive and it's saying positive so stay strong and keep positive! Xx

Julie2908 · 17/11/2016 17:49

Thanks Hun keeping everything crossed x

GilbertBlythe4JM · 20/11/2016 06:59

6dp6dt today. Have spent the week in bed keeping nice and warm. Had two positives but in view of previous CPs I'm trying to keep a grip on any excitement. Pic attached to show progression. It seems to be darkening nicely but obvs the beta on Wednesday is what I'm waiting for (and then I'll start panicking about childcare fees!!!)

I love seeing these positive tests! Congratulations!

I'm still waiting for the hospital to get in touch to see when I can go in for my first ever FET. I'm not sure of the process so I'm just waiting to find out. Apparently, my clinic just contacts me when they have lab space. They hoped it would be just before Christmas.

Finger crossed for you ladies with these positives!

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 08:32

Are you doing FET drugs medicatated or going on ur own cycle x

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 08:45

Congrats Gilbert that's fantastic I keep testing everyday all positives still on day 10 today gotta ring clinic Tuesday with result hope stays same

Roxy1234 · 20/11/2016 09:02

I think they mentioned that I'd be using suprecur but not sure of what the process is. I've just done fresh cycles before so it's all new to me.

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 09:13

I had start my patches 1day period change every 4 days week later had scan then started pessaries 6 days later had frozen transfer x

GilbertBlythe4JM · 20/11/2016 09:16

Gosh that's so much shorter than my protocol! I had to start buserelin (suprecur) on day 21, wait for my period then start oestradiol pills 3x daily for ten days, then scan. Transfer should have been five days after that but the lining was too thin so they upped the oestradiol and I took it for an extra week. Basically they just need quiet ovaries and a nice plump lining! Xx

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 10:02

I was surprised how quick it was this time I did that protocol last treatment I had was lot longer than this time x

Roxy1234 · 20/11/2016 11:01

Thanks lovely ladies, it's nice to know some of what to expect. I'm trying to be so relaxed this time that I'm not doing any research. This is our last time of trying. One good and one average embryo frozen. As I said I've never done a frozen transfer before, I'm just glad it doesn't involve any egg retrieval. I struggled so badly with that last time! Keep well everyone!

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 11:12

I had frozen embryo transfer 2 years ago and got my little girl and now fallen lucky again after frozen transfer it is a lot better than previous ones where I had transfer after egg retrieval x

Roxy1234 · 20/11/2016 15:58

That's great to know Julie. I fell pregnant on my first ever ICSI cycle which resulted in my daughter. I didn't have any to freeze from that cycle. Just did another fresh on this year which was negative but we were lucky enough to have two in the 'freezer'. I keep reading that the frozen cycles have a lower expected pregnancy rate and it was making me feel a little disheartened. All I can do is hope and keep myself as healthy as I can.

Julie2908 · 20/11/2016 17:21

Well both my frozen cycles have worked so good luck Hun x

Smileybobs29 · 20/11/2016 19:57

Roxy, My clinic say the new way they thaw the embryos has doubled the success rates and they are now not far off fresh success rates. Also I've read some clinics only do fets as its less gruelling on the body without the egg retrieval! So don't lose hope, I too have never gone down the FeT route I've had 2 fresh cycles of ivf, the first resulting in ds and 2nd ending in miscarriage 😢 Starting A fet cycle in the new year and trying to be optimistic X
Looking good Gilbert, keeping fingers and toes crossed it continues! X

GilbertBlythe4JM · 20/11/2016 20:13

I'm sure I read once that in Japan they only do FET as they like to let the body recover after all the egg production and collection...so they see it as better there than having a fresh round. Hopefully Roxy and Smiley it'll work for both you guys. And here's hoping for 'proper' positives for Julie and me this week! Xx

HollyHx · 25/11/2016 12:56

Hello everyone

It’s been ages since I’ve been on. Been keeping my head down and quite enjoying the break from it all.

Wow! Gilbert – amazing news! I’m so pleased for you. Those tests are getting very dark and what a great beta. Two is looking quite likely… How are you feeling? Do you feel sick at all?

Congrats to Julie too. It’s lovely to see all of the success.

How are you Smiley – it’s been a traumatic time for you these last few weeks and months. I know how 6 weeks feels like forever but Christmas will be a good distraction at least. I’ll be doing an FET with you in February I think.

Yesterday they thawed, biopsied and refroze our remaining embryos ready for PGS testing. 2 of the 6 didn’t make it so we have 4 left for testing. We should get the results in 4-6 weeks. If any are normal we will do a medicated FET in the New Year. They suggested putting two back in if we have enough. If we don’t have any to transfer, or if it doesn’t work, we will do one more fresh and then that’s us finished. Good to have a plan.

GilbertBlythe4JM · 25/11/2016 17:22

I agree Holly - we felt so much better knowing that this was the final go - having some sense of control in this crazy ivf world is quite important, I think! I really hope those Frosties come back chromasomally normal - will you play the same game of chance as us and put two back?! I imagine you'll be interested to know the outcome of our seven week scan! I've been researching cheap double prams just in case. I figure if I mentally prepare for two, it'll end up as a singleton.
No symptoms yet except boobs and back size have gone up already. Xx
