Hi,

Just trying to find someone who is at the same stage as myself. We have been ttc for almost 3 years now and after a lot of tests and back and forth, haven't found anything wrong, but for one reason or another we're still as childless as when we first started. And now we're finally at the stage of IVF.

Never thought we'd get here and now I'm actually getting a bit scared. I've got another 5 days of the pill. So injections will start on the 11th. So want this to go right. However not a big fan of needles, so about them too.

Anyone else who is going trough the same stage?

Just really hope 2016 is finally our year!

pink that’s an amazing haul - huge congrats! You’re an egg laying factory - rest up and hope you’re not feeling too sore. Hoping for good news from the love lab tomorrow!

dessy woohoo EC buddy, you rocked collection day! Hope things are going well for you and you’re feeling suitably recovered

grump and keep hope you’re surviving the 2ww, can only imagine how nerve shredding it must be

Good luck for EC tomorrow youdo and missspz, it sounds like your ovaries are absolutely rocking those follies

AFM, we’re going to blast! Day 3 update: we have 11 good quality embryos, 2 OK ones, and 3 laggards that I imagine will conk out fairly soon. But 11+2 is beyond even my wildest dreams - I didn’t think I’d even get more than a couple of eggs with my AMH

Interestingly, the embryos from the frozen eggs are kicking the arse of the embryos from the fresh eggs. The 3 good go-ers from the frosties are 9-cell, where the 8 good go-ers from the fresh lot are 6-8 cell. Maybe it’s like veggies, when you freeze em you lock in the goodness?!!!

Big big question mark is whether we’ll get to transfer or not

Lining scan tomorrow - desperately hoping the progynova and progesterone will have worked their magic, and I’ll be on for ET Sat morning

If we don’t get the green light, then anything that makes it to blast will go straight into the freezer, and we’ll start work on building my lining up for a FET as soon as I get my period in 2 weeks time

Thinking thick!!!!!!

Keep, I spent my last 2ww overanalysing anything and furiously researching potential symptoms, but I think that was because I was off work for a few days and had too much time on my hands. This time (if there is a this time) I'm going to keep myself as busy as possible and get DH to hide my phone on an evening. Sadly I don't think it'll be as easy as that but we can but try!

The 'love lab' just called and of the 17 eggs, 13 were mature enough and 12 fertilised through ICSI. Last time round our embryos were poor quality so they've pencilled me in for a transfer tomorrow and on the off chance they do well, they'll try to get them to blast and transfer on Tuesday. I'm glad we've got so far but part of is worried they won't grow Sad
Misspz and youdo, good luck for your egg collection today! Keeping my fingers crossed for both of you xx

pink that is a spectacular fert rate!! Keeping everything crossed those 12 rock on and power through to blast. Hope you're not feeling too rough after all those follies were aspirated xx

pink that's wonderful - I'm sure you'll get some to blast from all of them...

good luck for your scan banana and to those with EC today

EC done & home chilling with a cuppa. Right ovary decided to hide so they had to go through my bladder (yikes) & 4 follies are left untapped.

But enough eggs were collected to try fert :) so waiting for a call tomorrow. Everything crossed!

Pink - thinking growing thoughts for you. x

How funny this process can be at times... Dr came to tell us how the procedure went & I was mid changing so my partner told him & he waited til I was dressed before pulling the curtain back to save my modesty. Only minutes before he had seen absolutely everything of me with legs akimbo during the procedure!

keepitgoing · 22/01/2016 13:05

oh voodoo that's so annoying!! how many did you get then. Poor you at them having to go through the bladder - sounds nasty. Enjoy your rest

11 collected. Having a nice snooze in front of some films now.

So how is everyone keeping?

Hope your scan went well today banana.

That's an amazing number pink, hope everything goes well from here.

How's your zen thinking going grump and keep? I think 2ww is almost the worst part of it all!

And we'll done EC buddy youdoWink sounds awful to have to go trough the bladder thou, hope you're feeling ok!

So after my EC today we have 13 eggs collected. Just waiting for the phone call tomorrow.in the mean time I'm doing nothing but having a cup of tea in front of the telly. They'll do 50/50 IVF and icsi, as we don't know what's caused infertility and don't want to risk non of the eggs fertilising if we go trough IVF. DPs sample was excellent thou, so won't have any trouble there. So I hope all is well in the love lab tonight!

youdo OMG you poor thing, hope you’re resting up lovely, that sounds rather brutal! But a cracking haul, enjoy that hot date with the sofa (while your 11 fab eggs have a hot date with your DH’s swimmers!)

misspz woohoo! Gosh, you ladies are knocking it out the park with the ECs this last couple of weeks. Egg laying machines on this thread!! A well earned chill out sounds just what the Dr ordered

Hoping for fab news from the love lab for you both!

grump and keep thinking of you and hope those blasts are snuggling in nice and tight

pink hoping those embryos are going strong!

Good news from this end, woohoo!

Lining has thickened up beautifully and we are booked in for transfer tomorrow morning!! Went from 7.2mm the day before trigger, to 5.5mm on EC (when it had already started compacting) to a stonking 8.5mm today!!

Thank you progynova and progesterone!

Consultant wants me to stay on the oestrogen tablets as well as the progesterone fanjo bullets until test day, to help keep that lining where it needs to be.

So the oven is now well and truly warmed up, and hopefully we’re going to get a bun put in tomorrow Grin

Grumpelstiltskin · 22/01/2016 21:57

Haha, fanjo bullets. Going to use that one going forward!

So pleased to hear the good lining news, banana, it's awesome that you have an actual transfer date. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. May your doctor's hand be steady and your embryo super-sticky.

Also fantastic news that you've had such successful ECs, miss and you. Ouch re going through the bladder, though! **

Keep,
hope you're feeling ok and you aren't in your head too much.

Dessy and others, hope it's all going ok.

I've been feeling MOSTLY normal, even did a (gentle) yoga class today. Hate not exercising and doc said yoga/ walking was all good.

Now this evening have quite lowdown cramping and a heavy-feeling stomach, just like pre-AF. Also have sore boobs, but then I always do when pre-menstrual and those fanjo bullets are probably responsible for that. Oh, Christ knows!

Happy weekend xx

Hi ladies, blimey what a busy week for everybody! We've had nine embryos yesterday that were looking fairly good and are booked in for ET tomorrow morning! It all feels a bit real now but I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up too much as the next stage is the most risky for me anyway.
Weirdly I've got really sore boobs and feeling really teary as if I've got pre-menstrual tension and my period would be due next week but I'm guessing I wouldn't have a period after all these drugs?
I really feel for all of you on the 2WW as thought I was going to be all chilled about it but I'm already stressing about what I should and shouldn't do and whether anything is going to make this thing fall out after tomorrow! Xxx

Great news from everyone, the list of follicles/embryos is huge!
After not sleeping a wink last night worrying about those pesky embryos (despite pretending to DH I was really chilled out about the while thing) the embryologist has just called to give us the news that we have around 6 strong looking ones out of the 12 and she's hopeful that at least 1 will reach blast stage, so she's confident that we can wait until Tuesday. Last time we only got to day 2 and had embryos with loads of fragmentation so this is amazing news. Might go have a little cry!

banana hope today goes well :)

pink that's wonderful! Will you put 2 back do you think?

grump that sounds like a good symptom! I only have sore boobs but have had them pre-transfer so... Did you get any frosties in the end?

banana good luck for today, so pleased you can get to ET!

Had the call and good news that 6 embryos have developed so ET on Monday.

Feeling hopeful & enjoying that this is further than I've ever got before. (But mindful that there's a long way to go yet.)

Great news banana, hope everything went well today. And for you dessy. So two et today, and they just keep on coming.

Hope it's all good signs for you keep and grump, 2ww is really what I dread the most. Having my fingers crossed for you ladies.

Good news for you pink and youdo, really hope one of them is sticky one!

I just got THE call, so DHs sperm and my follies have really been busy, we have 9 embryos growing nicely. So so far booked in for Monday et, but we'll see how we're looking on the day. So I'm all nerves here now!

So we will soon have 7 ladies in different stages of 2wwSmile

Hi ladies, hope you're all having lovely weekends

ET today went really well, I have a 4AA blast on board, plus four blasts on ice!!

My gob is well and truly smacked.

Never in a million years did I think that with an AMH of 1.5 I would ever get anything to blast - let alone anything for the freezer.

Dr said he was delighted with the embryos, the big unknown is my endometrium - so just have to hope that this little one clings on extra tight!

Hope everyone is doing ok. keep how are you keeping yourself distracted? Our et is tomorrow and I feel like even with all the distractions I've got planned, I'm going to continue to stay a nervous wreck until our testing date :/

banana hope you're enjoying being PUPO- fab news that you've got a stash of blasts tucked away on ice! I'm hoping we might have one blast to transfer and one to freeze as I think it'll help me feel a little more reassured. This is the furthest we've ever got.

Good luck to everyone at whatever stage they're at :)

Ps. I've downloaded a free meditation podcast (just search for the meditation podcast) that I'd recommend- tried it last night and nodded off immediately after listening to it!

Youdothatvoodoo · 26/01/2016 07:15

Hi everyone,

Pink - thanks, will get that meditation podcast. Had some crazy mishmash dreams last night! Including decorating a room with a massive fireplace like the front of the titanic. There was a door to the side & kids could climb into it and play on top!

ET went well yesterday & I had 2 embies put back in. The embryologist chose them as grade 2 quality & had split to 8 cells so the best ones out of the 6. Unfortunately the others had fragmented so no option to freeze. My ovaries are still slightly swollen so keeping an eye in case have ohss. Fanjo bullets - great name.

Wow, it felt exciting to see them go into me on the ultrasound (just about made them out). I felt as if I had won the lottery at that moment even though I know it's still up to chance from here on. But it still felt good to have things go right up until this point as this is the closest I've got. Thinking implanty thoughts.

Now - to find ways of keeping sane until test on 7 feb. I've caught my mind overthinking a couple of times & told it to shush. Oooo, that meditation podcast might help.

How is everyone doing?

Report
Pinkheels · 26/01/2016 14:14

Two blasts transferred- but both are poor quality and it doesn't look like there'll be anything suitable to freeze. The embryologist was very cold and matter of fact about it all so I might have had a little cry afterwards. Its bittersweet because there's literally nothing I can do to change what's going to happen but at the same time it's all I've wanted and have gone through so much over the past 3.5 years to get here. It just sucks but need to try to stay positive otherwise I'm going to drive myself crackers! Got a lazy afternoon planned, watching some comedy films and then I think DH is going to take me out for dinner. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

pink 2 blasts on board is wonderful, congratulations! There's lots unknown about embryo quality, and you have every chance.

Same to you voodoo, sorry you got none to freeze, I've since read only 20% of cycles get blasts

grump are you OK? I think I'm losing it...

Report
Grumpelstiltskin · 26/01/2016 21:03

Pink and voodoo wishing so much luck and sticky thoughts to you. You've both gone through such a lot to get to this stage, so at this point, WELL DONE, you've done all you can. And you genuinely never know. Two embies each on board is exciting. The 2ww less so. I think we all need that meditation app!

Keep really sorry to hear you're struggling. This is truly the longest 9 days of all time! Are you going to poas before your blood test do you think? I can't work out if it's best to be prepared beforehand either way or just wait for the definitive.

I'm going through peaks and troughs of overthinking. Work is being such a fucking arse at the mo that it is actually proving quite a good distraction at times but then I start stressing about being stressed etc etched just want a sodding large coffee and/or a gin.
Plus have had AF cramps all afternoon, absolutely textbook, so have also dashed about doing a fair amount of paranoid gusset-checking. Also boobs are less sore and it's day24 which is bang on for normal AF...ARGHHHH. Not spotting though. Yet.

I must confess that I've also just cracked and poas. BFN of course! but test did expire in Dec so it's probably that
Probably going to leave it now till Friday. Probably.
