anyone having 1st round of IVF this month

Hi,

Just trying to find someone who is at the same stage as myself. We have been ttc for almost 3 years now and after a lot of tests and back and forth, haven't found anything wrong, but for one reason or another we're still as childless as when we first started. And now we're finally at the stage of IVF.

Never thought we'd get here and now I'm actually getting a bit scared. I've got another 5 days of the pill. So injections will start on the 11th. So want this to go right. However not a big fan of needles, so about them too.

Anyone else who is going trough the same stage?

Just really hope 2016 is finally our year!

Whoop! The Call no2 today said that everything was going well so ET has moved back to day 5 (Weds). Massively hoping we get a blast or two! Keep, you're Tuesday, right?

So unlike the rest of you ladies, I get a day off tomorrow! Will be anxiously lurking to hear all your news though!

Osiris thanks for your positive post, that's really nice to hear. Hope we have the same luck and that you have an almost boringly smooth pregnancy!

My work also has an IVF appointments policy that's in line with their prenatal one so am officially covered for all my lies unexplained absences, just feel more comfortable not telling workmates what I'm doing. (Especially as the one I for many reasons don't get on with has had an immediate pregnancy after whirlwind engagement and is going on about it All. The. Time.)

Wow, lots has been happening here. Follicles growing like crazy and embryos have been created. Everyone has been busy :)

Top tip on using glasses case for taking injections on a night out, thanks bananafish & misspz :) I'm going to try it tomorrow.

Bananafish81 - well done on growing 15 follies. Wishing you a nice thick lining. Liking the name - love lab. The pain sounds awful while not on your meds and really wishing you well and success. Hang on in there. x

Tinkabell34 - hello & good luck. I’m a week into injections (3 a day too) & finding them ok. I find varying the side each day I inject helpful. I take deep breaths too & count to 3. I did manage to do 2 injections myself on Fri evening while rushing around to get ready for a night out on the town (hasn’t happened in an age) between straighteners, makeup and texting to tons of messages!

So just to give an update after the scan, I have 21 follies growing. Ranging between 7-18, majority ranging between 11-12. Having another scan on wed and chat with doctor reg over stimulation. But will hopefully be ok. Just a precaution they're taking.
Pretty 50/50 left and right.
Will hopefully know ec date on Wednesday!

Holy moly. Back from egg collection.

17 eggs retrieved!

All 6 frozen eggs from the last cycle survived the thaw.

So that's 23 eggs in the love lab!

They have to do ICSI on the frozen eggs (because they have harder shells) but will do standard IVF on the fresh, as DH's sample was 'excellent'.

Consultant said he wished he knew what was going on with my AMH, as he is completely stumped how someone with perimenopausal AMH and FSH has responded like this. But he is very very pleased, as am I!

Lining is 'so so', so I'm desperately hoping the oestrogen tablets help to thicken it up so we can have a fresh transfer. Dr will scan me later this week and we will see where we're at. If there is any doubt we will freeze all, and transfer in a FET, as he doesn't want to risk transferring a decent embryo into a suboptimal endometrium.

But for now, the focus is on trying to get some embryos. Our eggs and sperm are getting jiggy in the love lab so keeping everything crossed for a decent fertilisation rate when we get the call tomorrow!!

Well done banana, what a haul! Hope you're taking it easy and resting- it took me a few days to completely get over ec last time- felt really wobbly!

My date with the dildocam this morning showed approx 20 follies of different sizes, hoping its quality rather than quantity. Have to go back tomorrow so I think I'm going to use car troubles as an excuse with work colleagues. Hopefully going for ec on Thursday. I'm terrified and exhausted and giddy all at the same time :)

banana!!! That's amazing. No WONDER you were so bloated- a salmon with many eggs after all! Hoping you get a really good fertilisation result tomorrow. Your consultant sounds v sensible about making sure you have the best conditions possible for fresh transfer although I'm sure you must be so impatient about getting to transfer overall at this point!

Meh I had a very painful withdrawal bleed a bit earlier than my normal period but they said some people don't have one at all so either way is fine. Hope you're coping with the taste!

Just a quick update from the scariest phone call of my life

We have 16 embryos!!!!!

Of the 6 frozen eggs, 4 fertilised.

Of the 17 eggs retrieved yesterday, ALL were mature.

3 didn't fertilise and 2 fertilised abnormally, so we got 12 embryos from that lot.

OMFG 16 embryos!!!!!

Not bad for someone who the NHS would have written off and many clinics would have said own eggs were a lost cause and to go straight to donor egg...!!

Just had second dildo cam date, EC on Friday, which is best day it could be for me as only have sat off this weekend, means i can truly relax the next day! I have 16 out of the now 26 follies that are ready for collection, might be more by Friday!

Misspz - guess what? Just found out we are on the same day! EC on Friday too. Scan this morning showed 10 follies at a good size & a couple growing.

Are you doing sedation or gas & air? Thinking sedation as I get nervous.

Hello lovely ladies. Awesome to hear all the updates- gazillions of growing embryos! Tonnes of follies! It's all sounding brilliant. Look how far we've all come!

Keep so pleased to hear that you have a decent embie on board. Hope the TWW isn't too stressful. Sounded like a really good grade to me and you're right that it really only does take one.

I am now also PUPO which is nuts, I can hardly get my head around it at all. ET this afternoon was really smooth sailing, consultant was really pleased with how it went, which from the legs akimbo, bladder bursting position was excellent news.

Typically, after learning all about the blast grades last night, my clinic apparently use a different system, so little blast that went in is an A (boffin- blast) and we also got one for the freezer at a B. They're also giving the other three one more day to see if any catch up to also be frozen. Didn't know they did that, but am thrilled overall with the result even if the others don't make it. If they do, what a massive bonus.

So now off to chill and somehow get through the next 9 days. OTD 29th Jan. FUUUUUUUCK.

Also good luck for EC on Friday youdo and misspz! Glad you can rest on the Saturday too.
