Hi,

Just trying to find someone who is at the same stage as myself. We have been ttc for almost 3 years now and after a lot of tests and back and forth, haven't found anything wrong, but for one reason or another we're still as childless as when we first started. And now we're finally at the stage of IVF.

Never thought we'd get here and now I'm actually getting a bit scared. I've got another 5 days of the pill. So injections will start on the 11th. So want this to go right. However not a big fan of needles, so about them too.

Anyone else who is going trough the same stage?

Just really hope 2016 is finally our year!

congrats on the scans keep and grump - that all sounds really promising, well jell of all your follies! Keeping everything crossed for you

feefee nice to see you lovely!

littlebear really hoping it’s your time! Good luck Flowers

annie it’s ridiculous when the box arrives, but you’ll be rocking it after the first one!

misspz good luck for your first jab tomorrow

4 days into stims and the stims bloat kicked in after 2. I look 4 months pregnant - this happened last time and know it’s just due to the sledgehammer dose of Gonal-F I’m on, rather than because I’m a salmon swollen with eggs. Bricking it about first scan on Tues, desperately hoping to see at least some kind of response, argh. Hoping the drugs are doing something to my ovaries as well as my enormous swollen belly!

Good luck to everyone else :)

Hi all,
Not much to report today- 2nd scan was fine, follies are getting nice and ripe- 4 decent ones on each side at this point. Not enjoying Cetrotide all that much though, find that this one does bruise me a bit. Attractive!

Keep- exciting that you have EC Wed or Thurs! I have another scan on Tues so they think for me it'll be Fri or Sat. Good timing for minimising time off work if that's the case, but do have parents in law staying then which might be a bit awkward when DH and I have to suddenly dash off to put legs in stirrups / produce into a cup!

Hope that everyone else has a good week of stims etc and you're all feeling overall ok. Am in awe of you all and your continued strength in the face of the struggles you're having. Whoever said 'warrior women' up thread has it right! Thanks

Banana also good luck for your scan on Tues. Keeping everything crossed you get a good number of follies that are enjoying the Gonal more than you are!

Evening ladies, I hope you've all had a good as a weekend as you can.
I had to chuckle on Friday night at just how much my life has changed - rather than being out enjoying wine I was in Sainsbury's at 9.30pm buying ingredients to make sodding bread! Anything to keep me occupied and comfortable in anything with an elasticated waist!
Banana I feel your pain on the bloat - I look totally ridiculous now on day 5!
Scan tomorrow so fingers crossed they see some follies or something happening.
Sounds like a big week for everyone so good luck and big hugs to you all.
xx

grump four good follies each side sounds terrific!  Anything over 15mm is likely to contain a mature egg - and you might well find the tiddlers have a growth spurt. I had 2 good ones each side, and a couple of little uns - after EC my consultant said my ovaries had had 'a productive weekend', as apparently the tinies had got jealous and decided to play catch up!

I found the Cetrotide itched like a bastard - hope your poor tummy isn't too bruised. Yep, warrior women is damn right. I think Rosie the Riveter had it pretty much bang on: WE CAN DO IT!

dessy good luck for your scan tomorrow! Keep us posted - hoping for lots of lovely follies Flowers

It's going to have to be floaty dresses at work tomorrow to hide my stims belly - a friend told me during her first cycle she was so bloated that she ended up working from home one day, to avoid awkward questions!!

Hope you're all well ladies xx

Good luck for your scan dessy, v nerve wracking isn't it?

grump that all sounds good. What a pain to have pil staying right at this time... I don't think people would guess ivf if you were just a bit vague about Hosp appt

banana sorry you're not enjoying it. I agree on the cetrotide stinging once it's in. Hoping you're swollen due to a big clutch of eggs!

Hope all scans and first injections go well today! Keep us posted.

I've come down with a stinking cold (and am mourning the ban on Night Nurse after much googling, argh) plus the bloat has now hit, too. Luckily it's the season for big baggy jumpers! Feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Less warrior, more whinging. Wink

Hi all
Appointment tomorrow morning to hopefully kick off the whole process, I've been on the pill for a month to quieten everything down and it's turned me into a raging hormonal monster so fingers crossed everything is on track to begin our short protocol cycle tomorrow. The drugs have been sat in my fridge for the last few months and as lame as it sounds I'm really excited. Terrified too, but hopeful that we're doing something about things instead of letting it all beat us down. The cynical side of me thinks I'll probably go for the scan tomorrow and be faced with another random cyst like last time (where I may have left the clinic distraught and cried for about 3 days straight) but feeling stronger now Smile

Hi all.

misspz, your two days ahead of me. This is our first cycle, injections are due to start on Wednesday. How did you get on with your injections today?

My husband has a spinal cord injury which unfortunately means we are unable to conceive naturally.

It has taken us 2 years to get this far. I am very nervous about the whole process all very daunting. Just like you, I hope 2016 is our year.

Good Luck x

Hello again ladies, seem to drown myself in work at the moment, just not to have to get too bored and worried.

Grump sounds like everything so going ahead great for you! So happy for you, so EC end of this week then! I hear you with pil. I ended up telling my parents as they where here when my massive box of meds arrived...they did wonder why I rushed of with it to the fridge...

FeeFee hope you'll, manage with the time of work etc. I guess it differs depending on where how much gonal f you'll be on.

Keepit that sounds like a great result, fingers crossed something good will come out of it!** Almost there now! So is it tomorrow or Thursday for EC?

Banana god I can only imagine, I get like a blow fish when I'm on my period, don't even want to think how it'll be on stim! How did the scan go today?

Pink best of luck for tomorrow, I hear you about the hormonal monster....DP on best behaviour tiptoeing around nowWink

Welcome bex so sorry to hear about your DH, fingers crossed 2016 will be your year as well!

Best of luck warrior women! It'll be a very interesting week for us all! I'm about to go and let my DP stab me with a needle as I'm not touching that myselfShock

Hi,

Can I join? TTC#1 with first IVF cycle this month (started injections yesterday) after 6 years trying with no luck, had tests, lap & dye, clomid etc.

Hoping this could work. But trying to be realistic about the success rate too. Trying to push the previous failures out of my head.

I will definitely be calling the scan 'dildocam' from now on - made me laugh lots!

keepitgoing · 11/01/2016 20:07

Oh dear grump hope you feel better soon

pink good luck for tomorrow, hope you can start very soon the hormones are better on stimms I hear

bex good luck too. Will you be using aspiration of the sperm? 2 years is a long time Flowers

misspz how did it go?? Big hurdle...

My EC will now be Thursday or Friday, another scan tomorrow to check... Argh. But a good number of good sized follies and I'd rather they check and choose the right day. grump they told me 8-11 is an average response so we're both in that; I'll take that! Smile

Hope you feel better soon grump

Good luck for tonight pink - excited for you!!

bex wishing you tonnes of luck - have you done a SSR yet? My cousin has a spinal cord injury and plans to do something similar with his wife

Woohoo for EC this week keep - fantastic news!

youdo welcome - yes, I always talk about my scans now as a ‘hot date with dildocam’ Grin Good luck!!

misspz how did first injection go? Thinking of you!

dessy hope scan went well!

Back from my first tracking scan, consultant was ‘over the moon’ with my response (and a little gobsmacked). Given I had 5 follies at my baseline for the last cycle in Sept, and then 10 follies at my baseline last Monday (and I have almost undetectable AMH). I have……drumroll. Only bloody 14 follies at today’s scan!!!

Dr has dropped my dose of stims massively, and then I’m to drop it again on Thu - next is on scan Friday, he thinks prob trigger Sat and EC Monday.

He also had me rush home to take a dose of Cetrotide straight away, and do another one tonight, so we can put the brakes on and make sure I don’t go ‘pop’!

Lining is ‘fair’ (6.6mm) but he will keep an eye on it - may add in progynova after Friday’s scan. We should hopefully have a bit more time as it needs to be at the right thickness by transfer, so fingers crossed. So, things hopefully heading in the right direction!

Oh, and Dr was also pretty astonished by my spectacularly swollen belly - his eyes nearly fell out of his head. So I think that means I must be pretty bloated if I’m surprising the top fertility Dr!!! Confused

Thinking of you all xx

Yay amazing news banana! Shame about being so bloated thou!

Good luck for tonight pink!

Almost there now keep! Got my fingers crossed for you for Thursday!

And welcome youdo so you're one day ahead of meSmile how did your first injection go?

First injections went far better than expected....just didn't look at it Confused think it's more a mental state rather than thinking it'll be painful, as could barely feel a thing. Haven't felt any different so fat which is good, but we'll wait and see how I'll feel in a couple of days.
Second one tonight.

Woohoo banana that's awesome news. Well done the bananafollies! Hope you miraculously deflate a bit now you're on a smaller dose and everything keeps going as well as it has been, you certainly deserve it.

Pink, well done on starting the jabs- always good to feel like you're progressing and things are happening

You too misspz- glad you're feeling ok so far.

Welcome youdo and hope that this cycle works out for you after so long trying.

Keep so exciting that you're triggering! You'll beat me now as am having an extra day of drugs/scanning tomorrow so EC will likely be Fri/ Sat depending in how it's looking.

I have one mega dwarf planet follie at the mo (22mm Shock) and then some decent others that they want to catch up

Hello everyone else, lurking or not!Wink

I must admit I am OVAH the stims now. I don't think I look too bloated but I certainly feel it! Ovaries almost feel like they're dragging along the ground...

Grumpelstiltskin · 12/01/2016 19:47

Oh ffs no idea why that posted with a bit missing in the middle! Not really that interesting, but essentially it was saying that other follies could do with another day but lining looking cushy at 10mm. So there you go.

Clearly time for a liedown at this end- been sleeping badly due to stuffy nose and have been terribly gormless at work today as a result.

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Report
bananafish81 · 12/01/2016 21:51

keep it’s completely baffling, as my bloods suggested I was hurtling towards premature ovarian failure, yet my response apparently isn’t that of someone in perimenopause. I had 3 separate AMH readings of 1.5 so it wasn’t a lab error….and my AMH was 28 only 5 years ago, so it had completely plummeted. Fuck knows, but I’ll take it!!

Follies are pretty decent sizes too - 6 on the right and 8 on the left, all ranging 10-15mm, although most are around the 13-14mm mark. So very very relieved to have responded at all tbh, was terrified I wouldn’t after my epic 7-week abortive down reg saga, ugh!

I actually should end up using the EXACT amount of Gonal-F I’d been sent, if we end up triggering on Sat, and he keeps me at 150iu the last 2 days. 3 pens lasted 6 days and the final pen would last 5 days. Quite a dose drop really.

missspz nice work on your first jabs! You’ll be a pro after tonight

grump hope you’re feeling a bit less pants - I’m feeling pretty gormless generally, and I’m sleeping OK so dunno what my excuse is Wink

Lining sounds awesome, sounds like you’re rocking. Dwarf planet and bananafollies both made me PMSL!

I feel like my belly is ready to pop. I actually am getting funny looks at work, as on a size 8 frame the fact I have the tummy of a 4-5 months pregnant woman is not that easy to hide. Here’s hoping we all deflate somewhat….

Good luck to everyone with their jabs and to those with scans - I can’t keep track, but GO GO WARRIOR WOMEN etc etc

Hi everyone, egg collection went fine, we got 8 eggs, and sperm good enough for icsi. Crossing fingers for fertilisation

grump are you tomorrow?

Grumpelstiltskin · 14/01/2016 18:19

Excellent news, keep! Hope fertilisation goes ok. How are you feeling? Did you find it painful?
Had a hysteroscopy to get rid of a polyp last month so feel ok re going through sedation etc as I've already done what I think of as the most scary bit, but not sure how different the after-effects will be for EC. Hysteroscopy was totally fine and pain free after the initial slight soreness. Hoping the same this time around- and at least then it's the weekend!

Yep, EC for me tomorrow. Quite looking forward to a rest- work horrendous today! Ugh.

Hope everyone else is well.

Not too painful, just knackered... A little uncomfortable now, esp when my daugther knelt on my stomach, oops! I had a GA though, not sedation. Good luck!

Waiting for the call tomorrow is one of the worst bits...
