Jessie I'm on phone standby too!

I've just said I need to have a small op and not specified although my boss knows about my mcs so I imagine he knows it's fertility related. I've also gone for the post op follow up appt for next week too!

Hope you get the call soon!

Well, I am just back from the clinic and EC is booked for 10.30am on Friday, with the trigger shot tonight at 10.30pm. The scan was pretty positive with 9 follicles showing as currently mature, and another 3(ish) on their way - Dr said he reckoned we'd get approx. 12 eggs. I felt such a sense of relief that things are looking more positive and am feeling a little irritated that I have felt so stressed out for the last week, basically because of another Drs crap bedside manner and inability to explain properly that this wasn't really an issue to be tooo worried about. Hey ho, at least things are back on track now.

flower, Jessie have you had your final scans/been given any indication as to number of follicles etc? FX you get your phone calls soon!

Yes, only 6 so not much to work with. Still no call.

When was your last scan? You may have more develop in the meantime, and 6 is enough to get what you need-1 healthy embryo to put back- so don't feel deflated Flowers

JessieMcJessie · 02/09/2015 16:21

It was on Monday. They only saw 6 on my baseline so doubt any more will have appeared. All 6 developing was already good enough. I'm 42, it's fairly par for the course at my age. As you say, only takes one. I'm in at 11.30 on Friday.

That's fab Jessie that they have all developed. Is this your first attempt or have you done this before? I am feeling a little nervous about Friday, not about the procedure really, more the outcome...what are you planning for the weekend? DH is out with his Dad on Saturday, and I've told him to go ahead - I am having a GA for EC and they always make me sleepy for a few days after, so am thinking a duvet day on the sofa is the way to go. I just hope we get good news re fertilisation on Saturday morning, as if the news is bad, I might not want to be on my own.

Hi all. Wow lots of ppl plodding through now. I'm still just down regging until 1st scan on Tuesday. AF did show up eventually and seems to have done her job so hopefully Tuesday will show a wonderfully thin lining and I can start stimms. Had a really good acupuncture session last night and am generally feeling more positive. Being on bcp definitely made me feel really low and crap. Only one bruise so far from 9days of needles so doing OK!

Good luck for friday! Will try and check in and see how you've all got on.

shell if ur lurking, hi! Hope ur doing well.

dottie I didn't realise you were down regging already, I've been popping back here to see how you're doing since you were my last cycle buddy! Don't worry if your lining isn't 100% thin and you have to keep DRing for another week, that's what happened to me and you know that that worked!

Good luck everyone with EC - don't worry about numbers, I ended up with 19 eggs and only 2 embryos, a friend of mine got 5 and they all fertilised perfectly and she has 2 kids now and 3 embies still in the freezer she has no idea what to do with!

Wow! I'm a veteran of the last thread (and the two before that Sad), but I've not been around for the last three weeks and it's moved on so much I thought I'd better re-introduce myself.

I'm 42, secondary infertility - 7yo ds, ttc 6 years. We did two fresh and one frozen own-egg cycles in the UK last year and then switched to Prague for donor egg IVF at the beginning of this year. We planned to do one fresh cycle and then any frosties that came out of that cycle, and then draw a line under it, but I found it too hard to let go when that failed, so we decided to do the same again, with another donor.

In the meantime, I had the tests at Serum for hidden infections - I tested positive - so have been taking the uber-antibiotics for the last months - final day tomorrow Grin.

I've just finished down-regging and am now on oestradial to build up my lining - DE is pretty much like preparing for an OE FET. Unless things change due to the donor, I'm looking at a transfer around the 13th ish of September.

Delighted to hear it's all going well Shellster. Can't believe you're halfway through Cat - that's amazing! Woo hoo! to Toes big wave to Waiting - and hello to everyone else!

So ec for me at 11.30 on Friday too! My last scan was yesterday, I had about 5-6 on each side but only 3-4 that were 14-15mm they've upped my dose yesterday and today so who knows what will happen. At our clinic you go in to see sonographer who passes info on to a Dr who then tells a nurse to tell you what to do next so there's not one person to ask about it also feel a bit in the dark. Just waiting up to do my trigger!

I'm still lurking lil! Because I started this post (or at least the original three threads ago!) I know you, purple and blue well and want to see how you all get on. Tuesday is FINALLY around the corner. Such a big build up it had better work after all this.

purple, absolutely lovely to hear from you and that your DE transfer is just around the corner. I totally understand your not being able to let go when your last DE cycle failed. I too said my last cycle would be the final one. Financially it had to be as it was my 11th attempt and I was $8,000 in debt. But I wonder if I really could have ever emotionally let go. I am very fortunate that my 11th cycle worked and I never had to try to move on.

I don't know the rest of you but wishing you all the best with so many ECs coming up. Jessie, 6 is amazing for 42. I only got 3 mature eggs last IVF cycle days before I turned 38.

Hi purple and shell, sorry for commandeering the thread!

Is anyone else feeling weird about not injecting today? I am panicking that I'll ovulate before tomorrow due to lack of Buserelin. I know I'm being silly but everything is panicking me at the moment. Had to dou le and triple check instructions to not inject before I left the house thus morning Confused

Saw the consultant this morning, FSH is down from a very scary 17.6 to a much less scary 9.5! If cycle follows the same pattern as last 2 months, then day 1 should be around the 24th Sept, and should start stimming on the 25th (going to be on short protocol - Gonal-F & Cetrotide)

Seeing him for a baseline scan on the 25th Sept, and if I’ve not ovulated so period hasn't come, he’ll give me Provera to bring on a bleed and we’ll go from there.

The FSH change means we don’t know how I’ll respond, though as it’s a case of ‘you’re only as good as your worst FSH’, he’s going to work on that basis and start me on high stims, and see how we go…

Commandeer away icsi. I initially felt bad for not being on here so often after my IVF BFP, but after 11 IVF cycles, it is nice to be able to enjoy thinking about other things for the first time in 4 years, so I am glad there are a group of you all at the same stage of your IVF cycle to take over the thread and support eachother!

Lil, you're lagging behind this bunch of IVF ladies doing EC tomorrow, but I will be here thinking of you and cheering you on.

purple, I really really hope the antibiotics are the difference and solve the reason for your previous repeated implantation failure.

Congrats on your 4 Jessie, fingers crossed you get good fertilisation rates. My collection went well, but there's no way we're ever not going to need icsi unfortunately! Currently tucked under the duvet on the sofa, feeling a bit uncomfortable but not awful. Hoping we get positive news tomorrow!

Also wanted to say shell congrats I've been following this thread for a while as I was first referred for ivf in 2013 so I've been following your journey from afar! You've always been so helpful on here!

Icsi Grin at comandeering the thread. Congratulations on your EC - hope you got a good haul.

Congratulations on your 4, Jessie - good news that you didn't need ICSI - do you get a bit of a refund, or did you not have to pay for ICSI up front?

and Flower - 9's amazing! Good work Wink.

I got my NK cell results from CRGW today - nearly five weeks after I had the test done (they said it would take a week Angry). Fortunately, I don't have elevated numbers, so no reason to have the intralipids. I've got mixed feelings about that, as I'd like to give them ago as I've always suspected implantation problems. Prior to IVF I had a couple of chemical pregnancies and an MC, and I used a duofertility monitor which indicated that I conceived regularly, but they didn't implant. Intralipids just seemed like a good idea, which is why I went for the NKC testing, even though my former clinic in the UK thought it was a waste of time.

But. I'm now having treatment in Prague, and trying to get a prescription sorted out and an injection in time, was going to be a challenge, as the jab needs to be done a week before transfer. I'm expecting transfer to be a week on Tuesday...so it's probably a good thing.

I've also had testing and treatment for hidden infections (via Serum in Greece - maybe going for the prize for fertility treatments at as many clinics around Europe as possible...) so hopefully that will make the difference for this cycle. We're also using a different donor this time, as we'd used up all the embryos from the original donor cycle.

Well, had phone call from the embryologist this morning. Of 15 eggs collected, 12 were mature and 6 have fertilised. ET provisionally booked for Monday afternoon, but if there is no front runner by then we may go to Wednesday. Not sure if I am happy or a bit disappointed with the fertilisation rate. With 15 eggs I was hoping for at least half of them to fertilise. On the other hand I was worried about having none, so six is really good....

Just hoping now that we get to Monday and have something of God quality to put back.
