Thanks waitingimpatient, it does feel like everything takes so long to get going! At least we are on the way towards what we are all hoping for.

Wish Thursday would hurry up and arrive, I think I need to go and read up on what sort of questions I should be making sure I ask the consultant!

So many newbies on here, I've lost track. But I feel like mother hen as I am the one that started this thread many moons ago (when I knew little of the tough road that lay ahead!) so I want to pop in and say hello!

I know I had the shock of my life banana when I first got the premature DOR diagnosis myself. But I did feel much more accepting once I did research on it and knew there were other successful women out there and just got to work reading studies and articles showing what I need to be doing for my particular circumstances. So it seems you are on that path. I took DHEA. I also took great comfort in the study that showed if you increased daily protein to above 25% and carbs to below 40%, the number of embryos that made it to blastocyst increased to 50% and the IVF success increased to 80%. So even though I wasn't making the numbers and would only produce 3-4 eggs each cycle, I told myself that 50% would make it to transfer. My 11th and finally successful IVF produced only 4 eggs of which only 2 were mature but both fertilised and were transferred on day 3 - and 1 took. So I swear by this diet, even though it takes a lot of diligence.

lil - how many days until you start stims now? Again, I've lost track!

Shellster you are so much the mother hen of this thread Grin

Ladies it is exactly 20 weeks, almost to the hour since my EC. I'm at halfway! Really still can't quite believe it.

purple I picked up my knitting again for the first time in weeks last night, with the realisation that I need to get a wriggle on. 51 rows complete, 300 to go plus the edging!

Big welcome to all the newbies. My top tip is to make sure that the chemist gives you all your boxes from the fridge, and doesn't leave one behind by mistake, leaving you to panic at 10 pm that you are about to run out of drugs when you finally realise one is missing. not that it happened to me obviously

Oh and to get on the water 3l per day the moment down regging starts, in case your clinic forget to mention it like mine did

lildottie glad you are about to start Smile

And one more tip - if sniffing, make sure you keep track of how many you've had and to change to the new bottle when the first one's empty. No wonder my follies grew so quick the first couple of days of stims. Not sure I've fessed up to that one before. Maybe it helped...?

Just got back from scan appt. I have multiple follicles both sides but what looks like a lead follicle on l ovary

I have to start my opk today and be re scanned on Friday. They checked my TSH level again.
On the way home I started to worry as had to pay today for the fet cycle but what if TSH is too high again and we can't go ahead this month?? I should have asked can the paid cycle just be carried over to next month or will it be a case of I've had one scan so no refund as cycle has started ?

There was just too much info to take on board today. I may be having an hcg trigger as well if follicle and lining are the right size. Today on day 8 lining was triple lined and 5mm (is that good? She didn't say much) and biggest follicle was 7.6x7.3 mm rest all around 6mm (have loads as have pcos)

thanks black, and congrats on the milestone! 300rows, you can do that in a couple of evenings ;)

waiting I know my clinic part refunds if full cycle doesn't go ahead do hopefully yours is the same. try not to worry about it. I know its easier said than done! is lead follicle good or bad in your circumstances? are you doing fet? I guess if you are a lead folly means you are heading for ovulation so that's good? re lining I think >9mm is what they want for transfer but can't quite remember. i think mine was about where yours is when i was about half way through stimms.

Yes, a natural fet (although I will be having cyclogest and possibly hcg trigger ). They said I need a lead follicle but the biggest one isn't that far ahead of the others so we will see on Friday (fingers crossed it's grown by then and is def the lead one!)

How much does the lining grow each day then ? I've been reading that they can trigger if lead follicle at least 17mm but obviously lining would have to be right as well. It's quite confusing !

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 24/08/2015 14:12

I wish I could help waiting but my FET was medicated. :(

I am bored at work though so had a google around for you, and it seems lining grows about 1-2mm a day which means it will definitely be at least 9mm, but probably more, by Friday.

Hi All, can I join? I am on LP ivf with buserelin, menopur and ovitrelle as my trigger. Followed by the lovely cyclogest pessaries. It's our first attempt after trying unsuccessfully for 2 years due to MFI. I'm on my 5th day of stimms and have a scan on Friday, with EC pencilled in for Monday, but we'll see...

Was at a wedding yesterday- 6th and thankfully last of the summer- so sick of the questions about when we are going to 'get in with it' and have dc

Welcome IcsiWitsy!

You seem to be on the exact same protocol as I was and it worked out for us, so fingers crossed for you too! We've also got 6 weddings this year, crazy isn't it?! Last one is still 2 weeks away, but it's the one I've been looking forward to most (don't tell the other brides!) so I'm almost looking forward to it. Although we just got our bfp so no champers for me at this one!

How are you feeling? Are the injections going ok?

question ladies:

i dont have afs - so to start our cycle, will be having provera to set a bleed off.

HOWEVER, i have cramps, sooooo i MAY have a bleed on my own (wow clever body Hmm

whats the success rates with the scratch? we paid for the scratch, and down to have it in 2 weeks..... however if i bleed early (on my own) and get to start earlier than planned, obvs wouldnt be having the scratch if i bleed spontaneously, unless decide to start the cycle after.

IF (BIG IF) i bled on my own, would you go ahead, no scratch or wait til cycle after for scratch.... does it make that much difference.

opinions?

Thanks for the welcome and congrats on your bfp-how far gone are you? Do you have any symptoms yet?...injections are going OK. I have been very tired and headachey in general, and now that I'm stimming I am pretty bloated and feeling a lot of cramps/twinges. It's hard to know what's real and what is your mind playing tricks on you ifykwim though? The tiredness is definitely real as are the headaches...no mistaking those!!

Emotionally I feel better than I have done for the last 2 years. At least we are doing something now, there's a timeline, and some things I can control (get my injections right, eat well, sleep enough) and although I really believe that there is very little I can do to affect the outcome, it just feels better than doing nothing.

Well, my TSH was too high again (4.48) despite being on levothyroxine since February so now I can't go ahead this cycle

I feel devastated it seems to be one setback after another. I feel like it's just never going to happen I can't even get to transfer stage let alone the 2ww. My body is useless. I can't stop crying and I'm so upset. Yesterday morning I was so positive :(

oh waiting I'm sorry to hear that. but you know its the right thing to do if things aren't looking right. you will get there. have your time to cry and be upset, that's totally normal and needed. we're all here with you to get you through it. Thanks

Oh waiting sending you huge hugs Flowers. It's so unfair :(

Have a large glass of wine and a cry, I know it's no consolation but this isn't the end, and there are always more things to try. Did they discuss a wtf meeting? Do you think you could handle a (lightly) medicated cycle where the doctors have a bit more control?

At least your frostie is still nicely bundled up in its freezer - is there a chance that your TSH will lower enough by next month without extra intervention?

Report
Waitingimpatient · 26/08/2015 07:59

The doctor said to me at first that this cycle doesn't look good but as I have a long cycle we could try by upping dose to 75mcg a day and re testing before transfer. I worked it out though and it only gives me about 12 days of upped medication and everything I've read suggests levothyroxine needs longer to work
We decided to wait till next month as the Dr kept saying how it would likely be cancelled anyway and I didn't want to get that far, have started progesterone and then have it cancelled and have mucked up next months cycle

Last time on 25mcg it took three weeks for TSH to lower from 4.2 to 2.4 but at some point it's gone back up. Nobody said it needed testing again till now and I'm a bit annoyed as they said 25mcg was enough to keep it below 2.5 but never re checked :(

I have a blood test on 14 sep to check it again and if it's not lowered enough they will repeat the bloods a couple of weeks after that. Hopefully I will be in the right range by the time Af next arrives
I had to pay for the scan I had and they will just hold the fet payment for next month

I realised my maths was out: it's 18 weeks since the two component parts of our embryo met up in a Petri dish, as I forgot all about the two weeks of not-being-pg-but-counted-as-pregnancy.

lil there are 200 stitches on each row, so I get max 16 done on an evening!

waiting sorry to hear about your frustrations but glad they've carried over your FET payment, and that they're going to monitor you a bit more.

icsy welcome and I love your username! Make sure you are drinking loads of water, especially if you're getting headaches.

Toes with any 'luck'' MS will have kicked in by then and you won't even be able to sniff a glass of champers.

Hi, can I join? First ever cycle, I have low AMH of 3.3 ( a shocker as it was 9.8 6 months ago). I am a bit concerned that my clinic ( Guy's London) didn't really discuss protocols etc with me and just basically said "yep, short for you, start drugs on CD 3." I have gonal f (300 iui daily, started on Sunday) and cetrozide, which seems different from the rest of you.

Scan on bank hol Monday to see how ovaries doing, doc at first consultation could only see 6 follicles and I have been warned about poor response. Feeling very sad and pessimistic, and it's my birthday today Sad.

Hi Jessie

I had short protocol top back in April , I think the doctors are often quite abrupt just because they are used to it all! It's a shame as sometimes it's nice to have it all explained rather than having to go home and look everything up!
I had gonal f and cetrotide too but I was only on 112.5 and still ended up with too many follicles (but my Amh was high due to pcos)

I understand completely the feelings of sadness and pessimism, I've found that trying to distract myself helps otherwise I spend every minute fretting over it all. I keep having to plan things to do to fill yet another month before I can get started again
Happy birthday as well x
