I have had the worst day
Woke up feeling less than great so took paracetamol, then felt worse so took ibuprofen (which I usually have to avoid but felt so awful)
It rapidly became obvious that something was very wrong so I went to the gp (I won't go into too much detail as its all quite disgusting :( )

The gp said I had a swelling/lump where my left ovary is which was very painful. I have a uti and what they think is PID possibly caused at time of transfer and they've put me on three antibiotics and said to go to a+e of the pain gets any worse as infections in the uterus/pelvis can be serious

I feel so unwell and so completely unhappy

Floweroct2 · 22/10/2015 20:36

Oh waiting you poor thing, I hope it gets better soon. Hope dh is there to look after you xx

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 22/10/2015 21:00

Oh gosh waiting that's terrible. I hope you feel better soon. You really did not need that. Can't believe that could happen , that's shocking.

Waitingimpatient · 22/10/2015 21:07

The go said anything that potentially can introduce bacteria to the womb can cause it such as having a coil put in, d+c or embryo transfer

She asked why I hadn't been sooner but tbh any minor niggles I had I put down to the ET an infection didn't enter my mind
They've given me metronidazole cefalexin and doxycycline so I'm hoping it clears it up quickly as I feel horrible. They've advised a course of anti b next time I have a transfer to stop it happening again

How are you feeling miracles you must be so excited for otd! I have everything crossed for you

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 22/10/2015 21:18

Thanks waiting tbh (excuse the French) but I am absolutely shitting myself, I have been all day. I am so anxious it's made me feel sick.
But know I need to know either way.

Waitingimpatient · 22/10/2015 21:43

I don't know how you've managed to wait and not test early !

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 22/10/2015 21:50

I know I didn't think I would of been able to wait but it's probably been more out of fear why I haven't. But anyway Iv prepared myself for either outcome now, well as much as I can do.

Waitingimpatient · 22/10/2015 21:58

Well I will keep everything crossed for a bfp for you. One of the things I found most exciting was just the chance to do a test and the possibility it may be positive. It seemed different to all the other times as at least you know you're at least halfway there with an embryo on board 100% !

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 22/10/2015 22:05

Very true waiting thank you, your right I should think of it like that. I just feel like for the last 2 weeks I've been telling myself I am pregnant and tomorrow's test could shatter it all. But I should continue to stay positive and believe it will be a BFP.

Waitingimpatient · 22/10/2015 22:16

I tried to think of it as we knowingly got further this month than couples trying 'normally' as at least we knew there was an embryo in there, it just wasn't my time this month but I'm trying to think it's like wanting to get a certain number on a dice....if you throw it enough times it'll come up eventually

Also, as much as I feel absolutely horrendous at least being unwell is a bit of a distraction from feeling upset it didn't work this month, and I know for next time to ask for antibiotics

One thing made me laugh today when I explained to the GP and she said "was the embryo they transferred a fertilised one ?"

Waitingimpatient · 23/10/2015 08:24

Good luck today miracles xx

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 08:48

Lol of your Gp comment waiting, very funny.
Such a good way the think of it hun, your number on the dice will come up soon enough.

So I took the test this morning and......... BFP I'm so shocked and happy, can't believe it.

Waitingimpatient · 23/10/2015 09:55

Wonderful news !!!! So happy for you miracles xxx

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 10:30

Thank you waiting I'm still shocked. Just rang clinic, scan booked for 17 nov such a long wait.

I'm still going to lurk on this thread if that's ok with you guys, want to see how you get on waiting and see you through to your BFP. You've given so much support to me these last few weeks and it's meant a lot to me, as all of you guys have. I'd like to see you all get your BFP's.

JessieMcJessie · 23/10/2015 10:47

waiting so sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you this time. Let's hope that it's second time lucky for both of us and look after yourself in the meantime.

Miracles HUGE congratulations! Hope all goes smoothly from here on in. I saw from one of your posts that you have low AMH - do you mind me asking how low? I ask because I have that too (3.3) and am also going to be on max dose of the stimulation drugs for my next cycle (my second) so it's very encouraging to see a success story from a low AMH-er.

Waitingimpatient · 23/10/2015 10:48

I for one would love you to stay on the thread, you've been a great support to me too and it was good to have someone to share the 2ww with

17 nov does seem a long way off but hopefully it'll go quickly you must be so excited !

Shellster52 · 23/10/2015 10:49

Vixx, you wrote in your comment on 22nd Oct that they will decide on day 3/5/6 when to fertilise - but I assume you mean when to transfer?

Miracles, that's amazing. I've lost track a bit on here since I FINALLY got my BFP in July - did any of your 5 make it to the freezer. I was fortunate enough (if you can call it that!) to be suffering secondary infertility but I can imagine that those of you suffering primary infertility might be also having to plan for sibling down the track. Congrats again xox.

Waiting, you really have had a rough trot. You were poorly after the fresh EC and now poorly again after transfer.

bessie, will wait for your update re your 5 embryos.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 11:07

Jessie my AMH 4.5. Although I don't think that was solely the problem for my not getting pregnant I suspect I have problem with tubes also but no tests have been done to confirm that. I think the high dose will work for you fine. I didn't get as many eggs as some but managed to get 2 good embryos out of the 10 eggs that were collected.

Shell I have one frozen 5 day embryo, so yes hopefully a sibling for this little one that I hope and pray will stay strong and progress all as it should.

Waiting I will be willing you on and praying for you Smile

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 12:20

Jessie I also took royal jelly capsules since June right up until today. Not sure I should take them not as there is mixed reviews taking them through pregnancy. Also whilst stimming I ate lots of hard boiled eggs and drank full fat milk everyday.
I don't know if those things had anything to do with it but made me feel I was helping my eggs.

Floweroct2 · 23/10/2015 13:18

miracles that's great news so happy for you!!

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 13:46

Thank you flower x

bessie84 · 23/10/2015 16:34

waiting omg, that sounds really bloody horrendous!!! hope u get better soon. ((()))

miracles congratulations. :-) amazing.

Embryologist rang today (day 2) she basically said as we have 5 embies, we'll be having day 5 transfer, so i said, "oooh lovely, so are all 5 still doing ok then?" to which she said - nobody has checked on embies today (why? we have paid for embryoscope) but will tomorrow and will call tomorrow with update. so how can they make a decision? oh and also said, theyve decided to sedate me on monday for transfer. i was so taken aback i forgot to ask why, got to go in clinic tomorrow anyway for monitoring and bloods doing for OHSS. so will ask in morning.

so dunno how embies are, dunno why im getting sedated. still keep bleeding in bits (worried) brown/dischargy stuff not actually bleeding if that makes sense?

anyhoo - feeling rather emotional today, find myself wishing away time for updates. oh and gestone hurts, i have a sore arse.

happy friday peeps. :-/

Bessie your lucky your getting updates. Embryologist rang me the day after collection told me how many had fertilised (5) then said we would be having a 5 day transfer unless they ring sat morning and ask us to go in in the afternoon then it will be 3 day. We did not hear another thing. We were on pins on the sat morning incase phone rang it didn't so we went in on the Monday as booked. So basically we heard nothing for 5 days and did not know what was going on. We had no idea how many would still be there when we got there for the 5 day transfer.

The fact that that are preparing for a 5 day transfer is a very good thing.

Oh and also i had quite a bit of bleeding after collection that went to brown couple of days after so think that's quite normal.
As for why they are sedating you for transfer I have no idea why that could be my only advise there is just trust in them that they know what they are doing.

Vixxfacee · 23/10/2015 18:45

Congratulations miracle ! So happy for you!

Nurse said 16 had fertilised and would let me know on day 3/5/6 when they would be freezing depending on how they are.doing
.I am doing a frozen cycle so won't have transfer until January.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 23/10/2015 22:29

Thanks vixx wishing you luck with your 16. Hope they grow them to 5 days for you.
