Sorry to hear that patch. This is your first cycle is that right, I can't imagine how disappointed that must feel. Chin up. What happens next for you

bananafish81 · 18/10/2015 19:16

That sounds like a really productive consult Jessie - your Dr sounds really great.

Re: the DHEA, I know all clinics are different and some are really pro DHEA and some against, but I know the Lister actively recommend it for poor responders / women with diminished ovarian reserve. And as I fall into the latter camp (I'm 33 but have peri menopausal FSH and AMH), my consultant was absolutely fine with me taking DHEA. I am having my levels checked though, as too much testosterone can be harmful to egg quality, so the aim is to get my levels up in to the upper third of normal.

If you don't want your Dr to know, you can pay for the blood tests privately and just keep an eye on it yourself.

Wishing you lots and lots of luck xx

bananafish81 · 18/10/2015 19:16

Oh patch so much love and hugs. xx

Waitingimpatient · 18/10/2015 19:40

So, so sorry patch what a completely awful thing to happen xx

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 18/10/2015 22:02

Oh no patch so sorry. Big hugs. Sad

JessieMcJessie · 18/10/2015 22:03

thanks banana that's interesting. What does of DHEA are you taking? I am on 75mg per day of micronised.

bananafish81 · 18/10/2015 22:44

Yep exactly that Jessie

My day 3 bloods in August showed my testosterone was almost undetectable so I was a good candidate for taking it. When I was PCOS my ovaries apparently got used to excess testosterone and now having too little testosterone, the hope is that it'll help kick my ovaries into gear.

I don't know if it made any difference as this was my first IVF cycle, but I know that it was a very real possibility I wouldn't respond to stims at all (given my high FSH and low AMH) and my consultant was astonished that we got 7 eggs, of which 6 were mature. So maybe the 2 months of DHEA I'd taken in the run up to starting stims did something? As we had to freeze them unfertilised, until we do our FET cycle we won't know what the quality is like. And obvs as it's my first cycle we don't have any point of comparison. But on the quantity front, I do think it may have helped.

I have had some side effects - bit like a teenage boy! Greasy hair, oily skin, spots, and the fair downy hair on my arms was looking not so fair or downy. But hopefully all for the greater good and if it's doing things to my body maybe it's doing something to my ovaries...

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 19/10/2015 00:00

Gosh I have got such awful back pain, had it all evening aching in tops of my legs also. Is this good or bad??? I don't know Sad

Shellster52 · 19/10/2015 07:33

Hello - not been on here for a bit and half of you probably don't know who I am! I actually started this thread when I needed IVF support. 11 IVF cycles later, I am finally pregnant. purple has been on here with me from the get go so I really want to see how she gets on with her upcoming IVF cycle.

I've just been skimming through the last few pages and waiitng, I can't believe you're still waiting! When is your official test date?? Must be any minute now! Do you just test at home or do you have to go to the clinic for a blood test?

patch, I didn't see any other comments from you in the last few pages other than the devastating one above about 'bleeding - not pregnant anymore'. My pregnancy is the result of my 11th IVF attempt so obviously that means 10 failures, which included one miscarriage. So I can really relate to how you feel. Here to chat if you need xox.

Waitingimpatient · 19/10/2015 08:27

Otd is Wednesday I have to have a blood test.
I don't feel any different at all and have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever so I'm not sure what the outcome will be
Very tempted to test early but not sure

Waitingimpatient · 19/10/2015 08:29

miracles I'm not sure what your pain could be, I had a bit of backache last week which did go.
Are you allowed to take paracetamol If it gets worse?
Hope that you feel better soon x

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 19/10/2015 09:16

Back pain has gone this morning. I'm wondering if it could be constipation maybe. Also my boobs don't feel as painful as they were only a bit of discomfort at the sides now. Waiting I bet Wednesday can't come soon enough for you now. When you go for blood test how long till you get the results?

Waitingimpatient · 19/10/2015 14:08

The nurse said to me they send samples off twice a day and it takes a few hours. First lot goes at 930 am and my appt is 840am

I really don't feel pregnant at all. I feel so 'normal'. I feel a bit sad the last couple of days but it's an odd kind of sad I can't explain. Dh keeps telling me to be positive and he's right! I just can't believe how ordinary I feel so it's hard to imagine that any things going on inside. Goodness I sound mad!

Distracted myself this morning with lots of tidying up so feel loads better that the house is nice. We have had builders in most days and our cleaner left a couple of weeks ago so it's been bad timing and I've been lazy but glad it's done. Went for a hot chocolate and got a few Xmas bits too (further distraction or I keep wanting to do an early test just to see) !
Glad the backache is better miracles when is your test day again? Must be same or similar to mine as we are at the same stage aren't we ?

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 19/10/2015 14:39

My test day is Friday by hpt. I completely get how your feeling. I'm feeling very down today and tearful. Feel so upset. Starting to get af pain.
I should take a leaf out of you book waiting and do some cleaning but I really can't be bothered.

Vixxfacee · 19/10/2015 15:38

Shell I read your previous comments, congratulations! !

Egg collection for me Wednesday. One for my ovaries has moved behind my uterus so they may not be able to get any follicles. But they said I have loads on my right side so hopefully at least 10. My biggest 3 follicles are 22 mm at the moment. Trigger tonight.

bessie84 · 19/10/2015 15:51

Bessie what are the Basing the frozen or fresh cycle decision on?

Vixxfacee · 19/10/2015 16:06

How did they know that you're over stimulated.

Elektra83 · 19/10/2015 16:37

Sorry to hear that patch sending you some hugs too.

We've decided to put our cycle (due to start sniffing this week) on hold now...I'm relieved. I've been suffering from neck/shoulder pain for a while and it became really bad last week. I'm now on a cocktail of meds and the thought of starting sniffing this week was adding to the stress. I am a little sad but mostly relieved tbh!

bessie84 · 19/10/2015 17:45

vixxface from my scan, they said i had too many follicles.

We had the phone call. egg collection is on wednesday, i asked about the fresh / frozen thing and she said they'll decide once they have a look inside at egg collection.

im triggering tonight with Bursurlin (apparently this helps with OHSS) AT 11PM. SHITTING MYSELF.

I have af pain more prominent now and (sorry for tmi) discharge turning beige/ light brown. Just as I get before af. I don't know what to think. Feeling optimistic one min and then like it's all over the next. No amount of googling can put my mind at rest. I feel just like I do before af arrives. I want to cry Sad

Vixxfacee · 19/10/2015 18:25

Bessie do you have pcos? I'm trigger at 10 pm! Last injection.

Miracles, spotting, brown discharge is normal during early pregnancy. As long as it's not bright red blood. I understand the feeling you are going through Flowers

Lynn5 · 19/10/2015 18:36

Hi all, sorry I've been quiet. Thanks for all your kind words and After laying low I'm Starting to feel a bit better after my first icsi failure. And now obsessed with my frozen cycle Confused so just waiting on my next bleed, which could be anything up to 7 weeks and then call in to see if they have a slot for me. I've accepted it won't be this year tho prob be more like Jan/Feb before they can take me. How is everyone else?

Waitingimpatient · 19/10/2015 19:07

I had a buserilin trigger due to over stimulation/high e2 levels

In a way I felt relieved to be doing a freeze all as felt so bloated and uncomfortable. You just have to be guided by the doctor , at first I was a bit worried thinking a fresh transfer would have worked better but it's not worth getting ohss (it sounds horrendous)

Miracles I hope the brown spotting is settling? Brown is usually old blood so perhaps it is an implantation bleed from a few days ago coming through now? Try to stay positive I know it's hard though. I've been feeling tearful still today.
Have a frer on my bedside drawer calling to me as well....

India15 · 19/10/2015 19:46

Hi, I am new to all this but seeking a little support and reassurance. Had 3 embryos transferred last Wednesday and can't stop thinking about what they are doing? Has one implanted or have they stopped growing? Does anyone else feel like this?
