Lol - had to be up early for work!

Oh no Chops! How annoying! And now you've read shells post too! Xx

I already knew about the horrors of the drip method so it was nothing new. Don't worry shell!

loopylou1984 · 23/11/2015 19:33

Can I have a wobbly moment?

I'm feeling really crampy, just like I do in the lead up to af every month :(. I'm so scared it's all over, xx

OP posts:
chopsface · 23/11/2015 19:53

Might be implantation cramp?? I got cramps a few days before my bfp and was fully expecting af to rock up, it's not over til it's over hun. Fingers crossed for you x x

Shellster52 · 23/11/2015 20:35

Oops, so sorry chops. Wasn't meaning to add to your woes with how induction is. I do know a lady who was induced twice and the second time, the midwife turned down the drip once labor got started as she said her own body had kicked in now, and she did say the second time was much better. So hopefully your carers will do this too and give you just enough to get things started. Either way, I ended up having the epidural and that numbed all pain! Must have been a big psych up to get yourself prepared for induction that day only to be told last minute they are too busy. This baby was stressful to get in there, and is stressful to get out!

sammy. you are more than welcome to have as many wobbly moments as you need. That's what we are here for. For my 2nd last IVF, I had cramping from 6 days past a day 3 transfer and that cycle led to an early miscarriage. So for my last IVF, I was counting down to 6 days past transfer, desperate for the cramping to start again so I knew it had worked again. It started at 5 days past but instead of being excited, I went to bed in tears convinced my period was coming! So I understand what you are going through and you remind me of me. But now that I see it objectively, it sounds like a good sign since you said your period is not due until this weekend from memory? The last few days seem to take longer and longer as you get closer to finding out. Thinking of you xox

loopylou1984 · 23/11/2015 21:27

Yes shell, had the trigger on the Friday so ov was Saturday and therefore af should arrive this coming Saturday or Sunday.

Thank you both for understanding, not sure why I'm suddenly so emotional tonight but trying hard to pull myself together. Xx

Just to update you, got a call to say a bed had become free and its now midnight and I'm hooked up to a monitor with a lady behind the curtains on my left in early labour bouncing on her ball!!

Shellster52 · 24/11/2015 03:09

Sounds like it would be too early for pre-menstrual cramping then sammy, but I totally get the emotions. Feel free to rant away all you need to.

chops, I assume your labor is progressing now and you are not going to be in any mood to pull out your phone and type. But can't believe you got dragged in there late at night and they are going to start your labor on no sleep, with your labor and a strangers happening in the same room separated by a curtain!

loopylou1984 · 24/11/2015 06:25

Chops! Not the best timing but exciting nine the less! Good luck!

Woke up at 4.30 with even more familiar feeling cramps, feels like af will be here today. Is it even possible for my lp to drop from 14 days to 10 for no reason? My boobs aren't sore anymore either SadSadSad

My cramps felt exactly like period cramps too sammy. As I said, I went to bed in tears feeling like my period was coming early. I think if anything, your period will be delayed due to the trigger being in your system. This two week wait really does send you insane. I think you just need to get through another day or two, and then see that this cramping was not in fact your period coming and you might start to feel hopeful that is was something else.

loopylou1984 · 24/11/2015 21:03

Thanks Shell, I really really hope so.

Wonder how chops is getting on? Xx

OP posts:
Shellster52 · 25/11/2015 00:02

Yes, I get nervous when I think of Chops and imagine the pain she must be in right now. I suppose it makes me nervous because I've been through it before and know what I am going to go through in a few months time. But I can't complain to you who can right now only dream of being in the position of having to count down to labor.

I really hope I am right too. Hate to give you false hope and further to come crashing down. But logically it makes sense that it's too early for your period and must be implantation cramping which is exactly what I had.

loopylou1984 · 25/11/2015 07:04

I don't mind you voicing your concerns about labour if you need to, after 11 ivfs I know you're not taking your pregnancy for granted and that they are genuine fears. Xx

Just popping back to say hello, wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully find out how chops is….. it sounds like she should have met her baby boy by now!!

My twin boys are fine apart from having the sniffles - they are very good on the whole - OH is rubbish with the night feeds but great with dirty nappies :-)

I look forward to hearing more baby updates from everyone soon! xx

loopylou1984 · 25/11/2015 20:25

Rrrr Ruby! How old are they now? What did you name them? Xx

OP posts:
Shellster52 · 26/11/2015 01:45

Thanks sammy. How is the cramping going? It's Thursday here so only a couple more days til the weekend and you will know - Although that probably feels like an eternity away to you!!

Ruby, lovely to hear from you. Glad DH is helpful with at least something!! Are you breastfeeding also or is it just too difficult for you with twins? I had breastfeeding trouble with my son and that is the part I want to go smoothly this time around. Since this is my last chance at it, I would love any tips if you've learned anything from your experience? And yes, would love to know what you named them?

loopylou1984 · 26/11/2015 07:00

It's on and off, but right now don't have any... Which you'd think would make me happy but instead I want it back in case I'm someone who gets cramping for several weeks when oh. In conclusion I think I've gone mental! lol.
I also think I might have thrush now which sucks :(. Xx

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 26/11/2015 07:06

Pg, not oh!

OP posts:
Shellster52 · 27/11/2015 02:58

Yep, sounds like you've got the two week wait mentals. Must be exactly what I had as I was desperate for the cramping to come nine days after my transfer, as this is what happened in the previous cycle that led to a miscarriage. I thought I would be in tears if I got to nine days past transfer and this time no cramping as a sign that implantation was not taking place. This time, I had cramping from eight days past transfer. So you would think I would be happy, right - one day earlier than I expected just to give me some earlier reassurance. Wrong - instead I went to bed in tears convinced it was my period coming early!

Can't remember exactly how long my cramping lasted but it definitely didn't go on for several weeks after getting the official pg blood test. I think it only lasted a few days.

So by my experience, you sound right on track... I'm feeling good vibes from you...

loopylou1984 · 27/11/2015 06:45

Shell - thank you!
It's good to know I'm not the only one this is driving mental!

How are you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 27/11/2015 09:01

Sammy, it's completely normal to be anxious at this stage... Every little 'symptom' is analysed and over analysed!! I hope you manage to enjoy the weekend and see it as a step closer to testing day! Xx

Shellster52 · 27/11/2015 20:08

Nope, you're definitely not the only one sammy. Does it cross your mind to test early, or are you holding out your resolve until the official test date you have been given?

chopsface · 27/11/2015 20:20

Hi ladies! He's here!! Baby chops was born 26/11/15 at 16.49 weighing a whopping great 8lb 6oz!! It was a long wait to start labour after going in Monday night to start the induction process. Most of it due to lack of beds to be transferred for the next step! Ended up being a harsh delivery with forceps and a trapped shoulder! I have tons of stitches and a very swollen foof! But yes, apart from that we are OK!

Good luck for test day sammy thinking of you. X.

Shellster52 · 27/11/2015 22:09

Wow wow wow chops. The forceps and trapped shoulder does sound harsh - had you had an epidural by that time to make that process less painful? Or any other tips for me now that I have been through labor once and am dreading it the second time????

Hope you're busy falling madly in love with baby chops - can't believe he came out early and was still a whopper - probably good he wasn't in there those last few weeks to grow even bigger!

RubySlippers77 · 27/11/2015 22:11

Congratulations chops!!! I hope you are very happy and recovering well - ouch!!

Baby chops was obviously busy piling on the pounds ready to meet you early Grin
