Just wondering if anyone would like to keep me company and share the ivf/icsi journey. DH and I are both 35 years old and have been trying to conceive our first child for 10months. DH has lowish sperm motility and I have a low amh (7.24). We haven't had any luck so far and so the next step will be ivf with icsi in the new year. We are thinking of starting end of feb or march. Would be great to share the journey with others in similar situations and hopefully make some friends along the way Smile

Hi ladies, sorry I have been absent.
I need some advice, and hopefully someone on here can help me.

So our cycle was abandoned after EC due to OHSS, and 1 week later I had my withdrawal bleed. The think is, it's now been 10 days and I'm still getting some bleeding. Not a lot, but still bright red and enough to need a thin pad. Is this normal after all the drugs? My af is only ever 5 days normally?

Plus I'm in a little bit of discomfort again... But maybe that's because I stopped the paracetamol?

Sorry for the me post. Xx

I hope it settles soon Sammy.

I start injecting on 19th August Warrior. I was hoping they would give me the nasal spray but they definitely said injections! I receive my parcels of drugs on Tuesday. I'm on holiday that week so hopefully I will be relaxed!

Out of interest, is there anything we can do to get the best possible sperm sample for fertilisation? Should we be having regular sex up to egg collection? I'm worried I may not be in the right frame of mind for that!

miamiaMo · 03/08/2015 09:42

my close friend is going to start, and even in another country- she says a private clinic in Poland is her best choice. It does not any matter what kind of clinic is, if she is pregnant and will have a child - i will pray all my life.

kazcal · 03/08/2015 14:51

Hi newforest, the injections are ok honestly its like anything get the first couple done & you'll be a pro!! As for the best sperm, yeah have regular nookie if yr up for it...i was'nt!!, or just get yr fella to sort himself out every few days....you've enough to do Grin Grin !! He will have to refrain from any "release" at least 3 - 4 days prior to EC. If u guys enjoy the odd tipple my clinic said no real harm in the odd one as its not going to do any real damage & still no proper evidence it reduces sperm but saying that we both laid off booze....nearlly killed me but mindset atleast u know you've done yr best. Not sure what yr situation is but we had ICSI due to my fella's lack of "normal" sperm. Smile

kazcal · 03/08/2015 14:57

sammylou1 have you informed yr clinic of this?. Not sure of yr situation. I know when i miscarried 1st time & stopped the pessaries my bleed was heavier than normal but only lasted 4 days. Call yr clinic & just air yr concern. Ive rang mine today as this morning i noticed a slight tinge of pink after havin a wee, im only 5 wks so all still very worrying. Hope u get some answers.

loopylou1984 · 03/08/2015 18:08

Thanks kaz, no I haven't called them yet. So far had no bleeding today so am hoping it's stopped. Am still a bit uncomfortable though, so might have to call them tomorrow.

How worrying for you, I'm sure it's nothing though, what did your clinic say? Xx

kazcal · 03/08/2015 18:39

Yeah clinic said its normal to get spotting/light bleeding in early wks plus a friend of mine went through same treatment so nice to have her for reassurance too plus google good ole google has the answer to everythin???!!!!Wink Grin

Hi Sammy - I bled for sodding ages after my abandoned cycle. Turned out I had a little cyst. Took a couple of cycles to resolve which was the most frustrating thing ever but it did spontaneously resolve after my second bleed. I still ovulated and it didn't seem to affect my hormone levels badly enough to concern the clinic. I think we would have gone ahead anyway had I not also had a sudden and unexplained weight loss that tipped me into the slightly underweight category. I'm all better now, thanks to the healing power of Gregg's donughts!

Definitely worth asking your clinic to do a scan to see how your ovaries are recovering. OHSS is a bugger!

Hey Kaz - I'm still doing well, thank you. I've had a couple of bits of spotting too as the weeks have gone by. Hoping yours is nothing more than a little bit of leftover implantation bleeding or some small irritation. Are you on Crinone? I find that the applicator sometimes causes a bit of irritation which leads to a small bleed. Crossing everything for you. The wait for that first scan feels interminable but you'll get there. Keep breathing.

loopylou1984 · 04/08/2015 18:48

Thank you warriorbot - I think the bleeding has stopped now, and the discomfort seems to be much better too. I had a scan a week ago which showed that one ovary was back to normal and the other had 7 empty follicles still showing and some free fluid. She said she wasn't worried.
It lasted 10 days though!!!

If it starts up again I'll call the clinic, but pleased to know it's normal for bleeding to last longer. Xx

kazcal · 24/08/2015 14:19

Hi gang!!, how is everyone doing. My 7 week scan went well & heartbeat was detected Grin felt more reassured after that!! Now back in hands of gp...well have appoint on thurs to register the pregnancy. Dont know if i can wait a further 5 wks for another scan i just want to keep a regular check on progress, this whole 2 wks, 7wks 12 wks goes on forever!!!! Have had headache all wkend & generally felt tired. My mouth is bone dry at night & i cant possibly drink more water!! Hope yr all doing good. Smile

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 25/08/2015 23:39

That's fantastic news kaz!

If everything goes well at the 7 week scan, I think I'll be booking a private one between then and 12 weeks! Can't handle all the waiting!

BadgerFace · 26/08/2015 08:26

Congrats Kaz, that's great news! I have been wondering how everyone was getting along. I had a private scan at 10 weeks as my 12 week scan was not until nearly 13 weeks (and the day before we went on holiday and I did not want to find out bad news that day!). Babybond are good if there is one near you. I also then found a v cheap clinic (£40) to do a gender scan at 17 weeks as I didn't want to wait until 22 weeks for the anomaly scan to find out! My anomoly week scan is the week after next, can't wait for that to be out of the way.

How are the injections going newforest?

kazcal · 26/08/2015 09:28

Thanks ladies!!, good luck at yr 7 wk scan toesandfingerscrossed i was really anxious on the morning of ours! I had to google anomoly scan badgerface so know what it is now!!, good luck with it sure all will be good. The clinic i have been attending in hove have said im welcome to go back in for an early scan i can only make next tues tho (they only do them on tues) as that when hubby off they charge £165 but i googled baby bond theres one in Brighton (about 20mins from me) they charge £99. Not sure now who to go to, not heard much about babybond, are they safe, reliable, & fully knowlegable!!!....thats the paranoia again Grin Grin

BadgerFace · 26/08/2015 10:31

Kaz I used babybond for a 4D scan with DD and then for a reassurance scan for this pregnancy. They are trained sonographers and both clinics I attended were nice, good facilities etc. All I was really looking for was reassurance that the heartbeat was still going at 10 weeks so any scanning clinic should be able to find that!
