Any on looking to start ivf/icsi in the new year?

Just wondering if anyone would like to keep me company and share the ivf/icsi journey. DH and I are both 35 years old and have been trying to conceive our first child for 10months. DH has lowish sperm motility and I have a low amh (7.24). We haven't had any luck so far and so the next step will be ivf with icsi in the new year. We are thinking of starting end of feb or march. Would be great to share the journey with others in similar situations and hopefully make some friends along the way Smile

warriorbot · 16/07/2015 12:34

Congratulations, Kaz - hope you have lots of relaxing distractions lined up for the next two weeks.

We're moving house today! Blimey!

BadgerFace · 16/07/2015 13:03

Good luck with the move warrior! Obviously remember to be in charge of co-ordinating activities and getting your DH to do all the lifting/unpacking!!

kazcal · 16/07/2015 17:09

Thanks warrior i will keep u's posted & as badgerface said regarding the move you are they to "oversee" the whole thing!!!, no lifting! Wink Grin

warriorbot · 17/07/2015 12:06

Um yes...I'm totally doing that... [guilty face]

Nothing heavy though - I figure if it's no more strenuous than bringing home the shopping from Tesco I'm probably okay, right? And I am resting as soon as I start to feel like I need to!

Bit worried as I'll be up and down ladders all weekend for work. It's not the exertion that worries me, it's the prospect of puking on people from three metres up Grin.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 21/07/2015 14:18

Sammy, are you feeling better?

And Kaz, how is the joy that is the 2ww treating you?

Hope you survived the move ok, Warrior.

My first week was full of cramps and fatigue -I'm on 2x progesterone supps three times a day and 10mg of oestrogen, so maybe not surprising.
But symptoms have stopped now, apart from occasional cramps, which doesn't seem quite right. Maybe I'm just getting used to them.
Anyway I tested yesterday and it was a BFN,not surprisingly. It was an early test, as OTD is friday but I still think it was correct.

warriorbot · 21/07/2015 15:41

Sorry to hear that, Miffy. FWIW my progesterone side effects went away (fatigue, nausea) and I didn't get any other symptoms until the day of my test this time.

I'm sorry that things don't look rosy just yet, but I'm hoping that Friday tells a better story for you. CakeBrew

BadgerFace · 22/07/2015 09:14

Sorry to hear that Miffy but fingers crossed you just tested too early and you get a BFP come Friday. The symptoms stopping doesn't mean anything in itself as they come and go as your body get used to different hormone levels.

kazcal · 22/07/2015 12:13

Hi ladies, yeah Miffy dont worry too much i tested early last time & it showed negative....did it again when i should have & it was positive. 2 days to go until i test!!, like last time i feel no different only yest & today feel wiped out so we'll see.

BadgerFace · 22/07/2015 13:57

Good luck Kaz for Friday!

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 24/07/2015 17:43

BFN for me today - OTD blood test so it's official.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 24/07/2015 19:59

Sorry Kaz, forgot today was your test day too- hope you had more luck than me!

BadgerFace · 24/07/2015 21:14

Oh Miffy I am sorry to hear that. I hope you have got some nice things lined up to treat yourself.

newforest · 24/07/2015 22:42

Hi everyone. I'm due to start IVF in August (long protocol). First cycle (and only one on NHS). I've just turned 33 and my DP is 35. There is nothing obviously wrong with us but we have trying for a long time without success. I need to call my clinic on first day of next period and I have never been so looking forward to one! It's very daunting but the threads on here really help. I have read through all of this thread and it has really helped with what I should expect. I am very scares of the injections though - how hard is it?!

Persipan · 25/07/2015 07:18

Hi newforest! Welcome!

Honestly, the injections are fine. The needles for subcutaneous injections are only diddy and I've never found it any worse than slightly uncomfortable. If you have to do any intra-muscular ones I believe they're a bit worse, but you'll soon get the hang of it.

Miffy, sorry to hear this cycle didn't result in a positive. Look after yourself.

warriorbot · 26/07/2015 16:52

Hugs for Miffy, hopes for Kaz and welcome to Newforest and good luck!

How are you doing, Persipan? Did you decide to do some online shopping? Grin

How about you, Badger - you must be 12 weeks or thereabouts by now..?

BadgerFace · 26/07/2015 20:55

Hi Newforest, the injections really aren't too bad and you get used to them very quickly. Hotel Chocolat chocolates help too!

Thinking of you kaz.

I am 16 weeks now warrior Shock! How are you doing?

warriorbot · 27/07/2015 16:50

Not bat - little sickly but I wouldn't swap it! Scan at the clinic tomorrow. Hopeful but will be glad if/when we see that everything is going well!

kazcal · 27/07/2015 19:31
