The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

Thanks, I'm mega, mega happy but very crampy so worried about the little bean sticking. From one worry to another! Definitely not telling any of our family/friends until 12 weeks xx

I've been trying actively for just over a year but I've had fertility issues from my 20s thus they put me on Clomid pretty quickly. The Consultant told me my boys had been miracles given my history. I'm very, very lucky. For some reason (probably a mix of severe dieting, exercise and Agnus Castus) my PCOS eased off in my late 20s / early 30s and my periods became more regular (about 8 a year) but once I'd had my last little boy my periods disappeared completely. So if I wanted another baby the clomid route was my only option. This was my second cycle of clomid, first on 50 mg and I did not ovulate, this round was 100mg and boom Smile

Sprinkling baby dust your way ladies, I really hope it happens for you soon, I hope you don't mind me staying on this thread -- I so want to be around and hear when you get your bfps xxx

Of course we don't mind Lotty......its all about the success, the tears, the emotion and everything in-between. It's great to hear that it does work.xxx

Hi Ditsy

I haven't had the sharp poking pains but have got a constant dull ache, discharge and sore boobs! Who knows just got to try and stop thinking about it, get on with my weekend and test on Monday when my period is due. Lucklily I have got quite alot on this weekend so that will keep me busy and hopefully my period won't arrive!

Got my fingers crossed for you Ditsy that what you are feeling is implantation :) x

Ps - Love the thought of us all having babies around the same time Lotty it would certainly up the statistics of taking clomid! x

CountryCob · 10/10/2013 13:56

Hi Lottie I may be on the wrong thread too as one more test and docs likely to send me straight to ivf which was a shock to hear but decided to be ok with it so pleased for you xxxxx

Lottystar · 10/10/2013 15:16

Thanks girls, off to get more tests to confirm in a day or so as I got two faint positives on Tesco own brand, faint positive on the original First Response but a 'not pregnant' on Clear Blue digital. Hoping it's because my period wasn't due until this weekend xx

OP posts:
DitsyDonkey · 10/10/2013 15:38

Lotty Clear Blue Digital is not as sensitive as the others, so try not to worry!

I don't know what is wrong with me today I'm just super impatient, hurry up Wednesday so I can test....oh it's a killer! You would think after 2and half years ttc I would be used to it Hmm

Oh anroga finger crossed that you get your bfp on Monday.....is it terrible that I'm a teeny tiny but jealous that you get to test Monday and I have to wait until Wednesday Blush irrational I know!!!

anroga · 10/10/2013 16:03

Not irrational at all Ditsy, we all know what you mean, keep yourself busy like I plan to until you can test, let just hope AF doesn't make an appearance for either of us before then :) x

Lottystar · 10/10/2013 17:56

Thanks Ditsy :) Got another faint positive (phew) on First Response, going to leave my remaining Clear Blue Digital until next week as I think my HCG levels are quite low at the mo.

The waiting is so hard, I was useless, but positive no sign of afs yet. Are you both spot on with your cycles Anroga & Ditsy? Xxx

OP posts:
anroga · 10/10/2013 19:10

Great news lotty another positive, you must have a bathroom full! x

Yeah I am like clockwork every month so going to sit tight until Monday -was just sat here thinking does it feel like af?!?!?!

Will keep you posted x

Floweroct · 10/10/2013 19:40

Congrats lotty :)

DitsyDonkey · 10/10/2013 19:48

Oh my AF arrives as and when it's ready....before treatment started it was anything between 30 something to 120 something. Since the clomid, metformin and femara and acupuncture it is down to between 29 and 33, it has been like that for a year now thank God!

I'm testing in Wednesday as that will be two weeks since possible ovulation, but according to my last cycle I am not actually due til next Friday!

Lottystar · 10/10/2013 21:20

Thanks FlowerOct, I still can't believe it Grin

Keeping everything crossed for you ladies! Clomid can work, I honestly thought it wouldn't for me but it seems to. Early days but positive nonetheless xxx

OP posts:
kerrylou84 · 11/10/2013 10:27

I'm suffering really bad with these hot flushes.....even though my last tablet was on the 4th! They're quite bad, one minute il be sat feeling comfortable and the next is like someone holding a blow torch against me! Graham seems to think his lucks in every time I strip off when having a flush lol. Havnt had them this bad since my first round. Also feeling pretty tired more often and getting stuffy like headaches. May not be related to the chlomid.
I'm on day 13today, wishing the days away.
My day 21 is on a Saturday so I have booked in for bloods on day 20.......is it best to go then or hang on til monday?

xxx

DitsyDonkey · 11/10/2013 16:21

I had an interesting meeting with my gp today getting my day 21 (on day 22) done and he started telling me I should look into going for more advanced treatment like ivf or considering adoption......like hello let's get through these three rounds of clomid first.

It just indicates to me that I must be a hopeless case in his eyes. Though this us he same man who told me last year I would definitely be pregnant by Christmas Hmm

DitsyDonkey · 11/10/2013 16:24

Lotty...have you done anymore tests?

Kerry....I have been getting lots of hot flushes also....they are crap! Re the bloods you should be fine either Friday or Monday....on my first few rounds of clomid I got terrible headaches Sad

Lottystar · 11/10/2013 16:55

Ditsy, sorry if you've explained this already but why only 3 rounds of clomid and not the usual 6? Have you already had 3 rounds? Good luck with your day 21 results, I do hope it happens for you soon xx

I never had the flushes but definitely hormone related, KerryLou you made me laugh about your fella thinking he's got lucky, my hubby was knackered after last month's efforts.

I have done one more test this morning, only to see if my HCG levels are going up and the positive line is still quite faint. It's worrying me a little but then my period isn't due until around this weekend or even early next week. I have an appointment booked with my GP next Thurs and I'll call the fertility clinic when I get home from holiday. Starting to think it's all too good to be true and hoping the little bean sticks xxx

OP posts:
DitsyDonkey · 11/10/2013 17:53

Lotty yes I have previously done three months of clomid with which I had two chemical pregnancies, then three months of femara which didn't make me ovulate and so I am now doing three more months of clomid!

Lotty I wouldn't expect you line to get darker until after you AF is due...try not to worry...I know easier said than done, thus us the awful thing with fertility treatment you find out so so early! I find myself constantly wishing the days away!

DitsyDonkey · 11/10/2013 17:58

Oh and Lotty, what are your symptoms like at the moment? Sorry fir asking so many questions Blush since my stabbing pains during the week I have had no more pains so I am totally symptom free at the moment, but also free of AF symptoms....hopefully the evil witch will stay away!

Lottystar · 11/10/2013 19:00

I see Ditsy, that must have been tough with the chemical pregnancies. As you say, very wisely, we find out so early if we're pregnant (due to being on treatment) that any early miscarriages we'd otherwise have missed most likely, we have to go through too. It sucks. Tbh, this would have been my first natural period for over a year (not Provera induced) so I'm not even sure when my period would have come. I've just dated it from 2 weeks after I got the positive ovulation test. I always used to have a longer cycle though, at least 36 days. I have a spare Clear Blue digital test so will wait until Monday now to use that and hope it comes back positive this time around. I've had 4 faint positives so far 2 first response and 2 Tesco own brands.

My symptoms are slight backache, light cramping, heartburn (only came on a day or so ago), tender boobs, constipation and very occasional feelings of slight nausea. More so in the car oddly. Oh and lots of wind! (Sorry if tmi) Smile

I really do hope you're successful in your last two attempts Ditsy. Keeping everything crossed for you. It doesn't sound like your GP was particularly reassuring today xxx

OP posts:
Lottystar · 11/10/2013 23:50

Got my 'Pregnant 1-2 weeks' on Clear Blue digital. Phew xxx

OP posts:
kerrylou84 · 12/10/2013 09:46

Yey! Thought you were waiting til monday? Lol. I know what its like though, especially when there's tests in the house! Congratulations again.
I better be pregnant this month............we were at it at 5.30 this morning lol, I hope it pays off! Xxx

Lottystar · 12/10/2013 10:41

Haha, you should no me by now. No resolve! I needed it to say 'Pregnant' as it just didn't feel real before, the positive lines were so faint. Silly I know. Oddly my hubby is excited now he's seen the digital test too.

I hope it's your month Kerry, just get at it whenever you can. We did it every day for 4 days when I got my positive ovulation test and every other day the week before. Sprinkling baby dust your way xxx

OP posts:
Floweroct · 12/10/2013 11:15

Congrats again lotty :)

Kerrylou 5.30 - thats dedication :)

Af arrived yesterday, that was my fifth round but I didn't get a positive opk, anyone else usually get positive but then not one month?

Onto round six now not sure what happens after that :( Have a follow up appointment next week but can't get ivf on nhs for ages yet so may have to look into private. Why is this all so hard :(

Lottystar · 12/10/2013 12:52

Thanks Flower, do you usually have day 21 tests to confirm your ovulation? I'd had a good chat with your Dr - if you didn't ovulate this month perhaps they need to up your dose a bit next month to optimise your chances? They say clomid is not as effective after 6 attempts, perhaps your body is just getting used to your dosage? I'm no doctor so just speculating tho. Also I've read lots of stories where women have fallen pregnant after their clomid cycle has finished as it still can kickstart your system into ovulating. Have hope! It is so hard tho. Sending you hugs xxx

OP posts:
Floweroct · 12/10/2013 13:53

Thanks lotty I don't have any day21 tests - our nhs don't do any monitoring which is crap so I've been having scans privately on cd12 which have always shown I've been responding. So will see what nhs dr says next week
