The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

That is crap - I had the same with the hospital I was referred to. I said to my GP that I was really anxious about not knowing if I was ovulating or not and what level Clomid I should be on, thankfully my GP then did my day 21 on her own volition. They should monitor you xx

Lotty that is fantastic you got your pregnant on clear blue digital, obviously your hcg is high Grin

I can barely wait until Wednesday, I'm 10dpo today and wouldn't be surprised if I made a trip to tesco before it closes tonight and get some of their own brand tests.....does anyone know if they are sensitive? The only thing is I don't think I could bare seeing a bfn!

Lottystar · 12/10/2013 20:47

Hey Ditsy, I did the Tesco ones initially when I did the first response. I got a very faint line with them but it was towards the end of the 3 minute limit. I'd say they must be quite sensitive, although no indication on the packet of the actual sensitivity level. I soooo want you gals to get your bfps this cycle xxxx

DitsyDonkey · 13/10/2013 13:10

I am just after getting THE WORLDS FAINTEST BFP ever.....it's 11dpo today and it was with the third pee of the day tmi, on first response early test!

when I say faint I really really really mean faint, but it is pink and appeared before the three minutes were up so not an evap line!

But I am terrified it will be another chemical, this is how it stated out with the others, so please don't congratulate me yet as I feel it will more than likely end up as a chemical. My head is wrecked!

Lotty, when you got your bfp on cd 10 how faint was it? Mine is so faint you can only see it at certain angles but definitely there iykwim!

Sorry I'd all the me me me, I'm just terrified, its like my dream is so close and so far at the same time. I haven't told dh, he will be a worst pessimist than me.

Lottystar · 13/10/2013 14:23

Ohhhh Ditsy! I want to congratulate you but understand your reticence. I am smiling for you though and hope this bean is very, very sticky!!!

If you give me your email address I can send you a piccy of my first test if you think it would help? I'm not sure if you can put pictures up here? Although comparisons may not be the best idea, get a first response test and test again first thing in the morning? Or if you can wait, which I clearly never can, in a few days time. Mine was a very faint line, a tiny bit pinker in my first response test than with the Tesco one which was a bit thicker and only slightly pink.

Sooooo tentatively happy for you xxxxxxxxx

Lottystar · 13/10/2013 14:25

D'oh, just re read your post and see it was a First Response test, I missed the details in my initial response as was excited... Do another test with your first wee of the day tomorrow xxx

Hello ladies,

I'm in the middle of my second cycle using Clomid after trying for No2 for over a year. I have PCOS and Sjogren's syndrome, both of which can cause fatigue, but (if you'll pardon the expression) I've been hanging out of ass for the last three weeks. It doesn't help that DH is away during the week and the moment, and I have a fulltime job and a 5 year old DD to see to.

Has anyone else had similar symptoms? I'm not particularly sleepy, just shattered. V early nights last week, and doing pretty much nothing this weekend have made a dent in it, but I'm still rubbish.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks!

LM

Lottystar · 13/10/2013 20:50

Hi Littlemim, I felt a bit tired on Clomid but the effects for me were more emotional tbh, I was crazy woman for two cycles. One 50mg, one 100mg. Just got my bfp on the second so it is worth it in the end :) I think it has different effects on different women but perhaps have a good chinwag with your GP about it. Good luck xx

littlemim · 13/10/2013 20:58

Thanks Lottystar and congratulations on the BFP!!!

This is only my second cycle of 50mg; one more to go and then 3 at 100mg. I'm not having blood tests taken though, so don't actully know of it's doing any good... My cycle varies from 29 to about 36 days anyway, so working out when to test is a bit of an art.

DitsyDonkey · 14/10/2013 09:11

Just a quick update, I got another bfp this morning it was a little darker! Fingers crossed it is still very very early days.

Lottystar · 14/10/2013 10:19

Yay! Can we celebrate just a little bit Ditsy?! Let's hope our little beans are very sticky. I know it's hard to think beyond the here and now given past experiences but we must try to be positive. Congratulations! xx

Anroga, thinking of you today. I hope that af has stayed away xx

LM, why aren't they monitoring you at all? Is it just your area? I didn't have blood tests / scans either until I made a fuss and my GP agreed to do day 21 to see if I was ovulating. I use to also test everyday from about 2 days after finishing clomid until I got a positive or it was obvious I couldn't be ovulating. Expensive but you can get those cheap opk strips on eBay. Why are they putting you up to 100mg after 3 attempts on 50mg? If you don't ovulate on 50mg the first round it is unlikely you will on a consecutive round and your dosage should be increased, thus the reason for monitoring. We only get 6 shots with clomid so it's important they make the most of each cycle. I'd honestly have a good chat with your Doctors unless of course there is a specific reason your treatment has been planned that way. Good luck to you xxx

anroga · 14/10/2013 10:29

Morning girls

Congrats on your BFP Ditsy! Sadly my AF arrived late last night, feel devastated as really thought it was different this time :(

That was my last cycle of clomid so now it is straight to IVF for us - I think I need a break before we make any more plans for that, I feel it is ALL I think about, our lives revolve around the calender and the highs and lows are too much (You all know what I mean I am sure).

Have any of you had a few months off and then gone back to TTC and how did it work for you?

xxxx

TTCnightmare · 14/10/2013 10:34

Hope you don't mind if I join ladies.

I done three rounds of 50mg clomid over the summer, I had average cycles for the first 2 months then a 55day cycle after the 3rd Confused. Doctor reluctantly gave me provera to start AF. I finished my 4th round but 1st round of 100mg on Wednesday.

I have PCOS and we've been TTC our 2nd for over 3 years. X

Lottystar · 14/10/2013 11:40

Oh Anroga, I'm so sorry it wasn't your month, sending virtual hugs your way. A break is probably wise for your sanity and relationship, as you say, ttc quickly takes over. Go with your instinct, perhaps just enjoy lovemaking and not ttc, you never know the lack of stress may help xx

Welcome, ttcnightmare, I had to take Provera too and ended on 100mg. I hope this cycle is successful for you. I have been ttc for just over a year with my third.

Just got my bfp last week but really rather worried, I've had severe cramping late this morning, dull backache and diarrhoea. No bleeding but super worried ... I'm only 4 weeks (from date of last period) I'm not sure what to do ... Do I just wait and see or contact Dr? I know if it's the start of a m/c there is little I can do Hmm

OP posts:
anroga · 14/10/2013 11:48

Thanks for your kind message Lotty, thats what I have been thinking taking the pressure off might help...

Hope all is ok with you, if you are really worried book an appointment with your gp, I would, out your mind at rest xxxxxxx

Lottystar · 14/10/2013 13:10

Cheers Anroga, cramps have calmed a little but still backache. It goes from one worry to another. Stay put little sticky bean x

I have an appt with my GP this week, if it gets worse I'll call them before then.

OP posts:
DitsyDonkey · 14/10/2013 13:27

Anroga, I'm so sorry that it didn't work out for you this month Sad this ttc s crap. I hope you are successful with ivf. We took a three month break over the summer and you know it was actually great.

Lotty, I know when I get diarrhoea I get awful cramps so maybe it is just that. It's a positive that there is no blood. It is head wrecking though isn't it.

icklemssunshine1 · 14/10/2013 13:40

Hi all,

Can I join? Been trying my DC2 for over a year, had a loss at 11 weeks in Feb & have been given clomid as since the MC my periods have been highly irregular.

Am currently on CD13 (took clomid CD2-6) & still no lines on the opk. Am worried I may have missed my OV. On CD5 I had strong cramping and brown spotting - is it possible to have OV that early? I still had one more pill to take!

I've only got 4 rounds of clomid so desperate for it to work!

kerrylou84 · 14/10/2013 14:30

Congratulations ditsy! Really pleased for you.
Anroga, sorry to hear the bitch got you.......I completely understand how you are feeling. Have a little break and enjoy yourself, then maybe things will all work out for you.
I have 2 months left and if that doesn't work then its IVF for me too. I just don't know why my body isn't working properly! And the doctors just leave you to get on with it instead of investigating further......maybe if they did that first before giving us chlomid then there may be more hope! Wishing you all the luck xxx

Lotty hope you're ok. If I were you I would book in to see your doctor anyway, just so they can keep an eye.

Welcome to everyone else xxx

kerrylou84 · 14/10/2013 14:35

Can I just ask, did anyone else get told by their doctor to lose weight?
I was 12.6 when I first went to see my doctor, he told me to get down to 11 stone before he could give me chlomid, as losing weight can help with ovulation. I list a stone, so at 11.6 he gave me the tablets. I don't have PCOS, so what could be the cause for me not ovulating?

Has anyone else had to lose weight?xxx

Lottystar · 14/10/2013 14:47

That would have been early ovulation ickleMiss, not impossible but I'd say day 13 is still well within the window of possible ovulation, I ovulated at day 18. Keep monitoring and a day 21 test will confirm if you ovulated?

Thanks Ditsy and KerryLou, just hoping it's copious amounts of wind! Felt odd is all - I don't remember having as much cramping in my first pregnancies. I'll just have to see.

My GP said weightloss would help but I have PCOS Kerry. I'm around 11.10 or something so a bit overweight but not super obese. Apparently even a few lbs can help. Not sure for logic outside of PCOS sufferers mind other than I guess we'd be more healthy xx

Thanks Lotty, Let's see what the blood test says. I'm gutted, feel like I've wasted one of my cycles!

Yay congratulations ditsydonkey so pleased for you X :)
