The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

Shame it was a bit of a disappointment KerryLou but let's hope he's right about the twin boys x

Welcome CountryCob, if you don't mind me asking have you got PCOS or unexplained fertility? Hope it all works out for you x

Question ladies, I got a positive opk yesterday but negative again this afternoon. Is that normal? I thought you should peak for about 48 hours. Cheers xxx

Hello Lotty don't mind you asking at all! That is what is great about the forum can discuss things openly, my issue is that despite having a pretty regular cycle and right symptoms save temperature I am not actually ovulating, never had a positive ovulation test (gave up on these too depressing) or blood test and I have had a few blood tests over the months now, ttc for a couple of years and 33, had the flush through thing which was so painful but no blockages, hoping this medicine might help me ovulate so we stand a chance, ironically enough when we were students over ten years ago I used to use my temperature chart as a birth control method as we lived that far apart I could work out whether we needed to bother with protection or not at the weekend, easy peak every month I took it for granted, how times change!

Thanks Lottie I have no signs on scan of pollycystic overies, just do not seem to ovulate, had a few monthly blood tests now and no positive ovulation kit tests so have stopped with them now as too depressing, predictable cycle and all the signs save temp which I am not charting at moment for fear of it driving me a bit mad, used to chart about ten years ago for other reasons so know was ovulating then, am 33 now, had flush out procedure a while back it hurt bit given all clear, hoping this medicine will help me ovulate when I get it, have appointment in a couple of weeks time when have been told to expect it, last time they scanned a tube which looked like it was about to ovulate but didn't get pregnant, did blood tests just after but no results yet, like most of us feel a bit like my body is not on my side but trying to stay positive

Hi I was on o e of the other clomid threads. I'm on my fifth round, every other round I've ov'd on cd15/16 I'm now on cd20 with no sign of ov. I had what I thought was ov pain around cd13/14 but nothing's seemed to have happened so far. Has anyone's ov day changed that much? And anyone ov'd later than cd20?

CountryCob, it must be hard not being able to attribute the lack of ovulation to a condition or something, it makes it all a bit of a mystery for you. Mind you, saying that PCOS covers such a broad spectrum of symptoms that I wonder whether it is a tag just used by the medical profession to sometimes mask what they don't know. Despite IVF etc low level fertility issues are still a bit of a mystery to the Doctors I've come across, they find it hard to be specific about anything. Anyway, hopefully clomid will do the trick and kick start your ovulation. I have my day 21 bloods tomorrow so hopefully they will confirm I ovulated for the first time in a year on Friday. That was on 100mg / second cycle of clomid.

Wow, KerryLou, 41 days is a long cycle ... Really you've been lucky this time around!

Welcome to the other ladies too!

FlowerOct, firstly I've always thought once a dose made you ovulate it would be consistently effective and make you ovulate each month but that could be my ignorance speaking! Couldn't they raise your dosage slightly to ensure you ovulate every month? I've heard of ladies ovulating way past day 20 but I guess it depends on the general length of their cycle. I'm not sure if it's normal for your ovulation day to skip around from month to month. KerryLou, didn't you think this happened to you this month?

J200, hope it works out for you! Will they keep an eye on your lining as you go along?

MeInKids, what ovulation test are you using? I used the dual hormone indicator by clear blue and it did the same to me. It detected a rise in my oestrogen levels due to taking clomid - so for a week I was getting happy faces and alas no flashing smiley face as I never ovulated so no spike in LH levels :( xx

Anroga, haha! My hubby is looking worn out and I must admit I'm pretty shattered too ... Trying to get pregnant is hard work!! Xxx

Hi floweroct. I'm on my 4th round now, my first 2months on chlomid gave me 27 day cycles, my 3rd round was much longer, 41 days! I felt ovulation pain on day 25, took ovulation test day 26 and it was positive (both lines were bright pink where as previous tests have been very faint). Was really hoping this was my month as we had sex on the day I was having pain, but my period came yesterday, and with that really horrible pain :-( fingers crossed for you xx

Welcome to the thread everyone.......really hoping to hear some good news xxx

Sorry to hear your period came Kerrylou as Lotty says focus on next month even though I know how hard it can be to stay positive sometimes - after reading so many success stories re-clomid I am hoping my 2nd cycle will work if it doesn't thinking about going back to the specialist to get a longer prescription of clomid rather than going straight to IVF. Its so hard to know what to do.

Interested to read that you fell on your 2nd cycle bouncingbelle but so sorry to read that you miscarried, wishing you lots of luck on your 3rd cycle.

As for being worn out join the club Lotty! On top of working long hours all week sometimes it is the last thing you want to be doing! What else can we do though eh!

Same as Kerrylou waiting to hear some good news girls! :)

The whole ttc long term business is very tiring emotionally too, was wondering what to expect from clomid side effect wise - is it likely to make me feel anxious etc?

Hi Countrycob

Thats how I feel with it all at the moment too :( - well I have just finished my 2nd cycle and I have felt fine physically but the week I was on it I did feel depressed, very emotional and a bit anxious, I finished it on Friday 20th and last week felt more like my usual self.

Good luck with it xxxx

Hi countrycob.

The past 3 months I was hit badly with the side affects, really really emotional, felt like walking out on everything and felt like the world was against me. But it only lasted a few days, thank god! I also had hot flushes quite bad and ovulation pain. Other than that I was fine lol.
Sorry for too much info here, but since taking chlomid my periods have become really heavy (sorry for the next bit) but if I'm sitting down, or even standing still then stand up or move, I can feel it coming out. Also there are a lot of blood clots each time I go to the toilet.......is this normal? Xxx
