Fankletastic · 15/04/2014 22:49

Hi annie.
Kurama- I did find they my periods became lighter and lasted for fewer days when I was on clomid for 3 months last year. That's why I stopped after the 3rd month- I was worried it was doing more damage than good. But I've gone back on it again after a 5 month break.

Good on you Ginger working out! I did a spin class tonight- it's true what they say: exercising does lift your spirits a bit. Feeling better...although I think I'm having ov pains. Still no positive opk though. If I ov tomorrow or Thursday it will be a wasted egg Hmm

kurama · 15/04/2014 23:55

Welcome to the thread newbies.

My cycle was so irregular, could go months without a period. When taking chlomid, days 2-6 on the first 3 months my cycle lasted around 34-days,, month 3+4 was 45 and 73 days and my last month lasted 28days, and I actually fell pregnant.
I had reflexology that month so maybe that helped.

I know of 3 ladies from this thread since I joined that have fallen pregnant, 2 of them have had their babies, one is around 6months.

It is so hard when all you want is for the magic to work inside of you and your tummy to grow, but thinking a out it constantly is no good for your mind or your body. I started to give up and stopped tracking the days, started to relax more and had a drink at weekends (some I was very drunk)

Don't stop living your lives because of trying to get pregnant, the more you relax the better chances.

Good luck everyone xxx

Shoegal30 · 16/04/2014 11:51

Thanks for that kerrylou. We have bee trying for over 18 months and this is my third month on Clomid (have been told to increase dosage from 50mg to 100mg as I was ovulating naturally but my bloods showed that the Clomid hadnt had any affect).

I am going on holiday on Friday and there will be a 6 hour time diff. It is also my fertile week whilst I am away. I was originally stressing about how I would take temp and cbfm with the time diff but have no decided to just take a month off charting and temping.

I'm hoping this will be our month.

kurama · 16/04/2014 12:36

fx shoegal!
im somewhat miffed this morn. after af seeming to bugger off yest we decided to dtd this morn. yep af has gone.....nope she comes back even brighter red than before 10 mins after dtd.Angry I mean wtaf?!

AnnieHoo · 16/04/2014 15:13

Shoegal - total relaxation and bumping up the dose sounds like the perfect recipe to me!!

ginger - i'm doing fine thanks! Still only 6 weeks and 3 days but boobs aching and feeling queasy so hoping it stays that way. Will go to docs next week. Haven't cancelled consultant appt just incase i jinx it Confused . Hope you have some good things planned to distract from dreaded 2WW.

fingers majorly crossed xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 16/04/2014 15:23

How lovely annie, well jel lol! Easter Envy I'm more chilled as pretty sure I'm gonna end up going down ivf route. Keep us posted!

AnnieHoo · 16/04/2014 16:07

ginger have you asked about upping the dose to 100mg? I did that last month. i think 50mg wasn't enough and i needed the boost. Worth phoning fertility clinic and asking for next month if you don't get a BFP in 2 weeks.

kerrylou84 · 16/04/2014 19:00

Hi Annie, do you have an appointment booked with the midwife? You will be there for around an hour to hour and half. Nothing exciting happens, just get asked loads of questions and have you blood taken, weight and height.

I know what you mean about the sore boobs, mine have been so sore, especially during the night if I turn over!
I will be 12 weeks on Saturday, still waiting to hear about a scan and I'm waiting very impatiently!

My stomach has started to swell already........ We have a good chance of twins as graham already has twin girls and there are twins on my side of the family too, aaaaargh lol
Xxx

Fankletastic · 16/04/2014 19:07

Annie- did you get a bfp the month you upped your dose to 100mg?

Also just wondering how many of us on this thread ovulate naturally anyway? You have to wonder why clomid is prescribed to ladies who already ovulate...speaking of which, I just got a positive opk. Damn it! So that means I'll probably ovulate tomorrow...and not going to see DH until Friday. Oh well, I didn't want a January baby anyway
This clomid has def delayed my ovulation and I haven't had any ewcm really. How can this be good for fertility?!? And why am I seriously considering asking if I can up my dose? It's madness.

kurama · 16/04/2014 19:51

wow kerry i sound mad but id love twins :) i think they run in dhs side but only rarely.
im not sure if im ovulating with the clomid. but im unsure about upping the dose considering the effects ive already had on 50mg. will see what this month brings Grin

Shoegal30 · 16/04/2014 20:34

Annie massive congrats, that's fantastic news. Sorry I have only just dipped back into the thread and realised that you got your BFP. It's so nice to hear people in the same boat getting a BFP, it provides hope.

Fankle I ovulate naturally. Do you? I didn't understand why I was prescribed it but the FC explained that I have to wait until 2 years before we are eligible for assisted so whilst we are waiting we should try Clomid as it can apparently provide a boost to people who ovulate naturally anyway by releasing more eggs.
This is my third month of Clomid and my 21 days blood test showed that although I ovulated naturally, the 50mg had no affect so the fc has recommended upping to 100mg this month.

I'm finishing my last tablets tonight and am on holiday on Friday for a week and have decided not to temp or use opk so hopefully this might be our lucky month as I shouldn't fertile whilst away. Grin

Shoegal30 · 16/04/2014 20:36

Sorry that should say I WILL be fertile whilst away.

kerrylou84 · 16/04/2014 21:01

It scares the hell out of me Kurama! All this time trying for 'A' baby and it never seemed to cross my mind that maybe it could be twins, but as soon as I told family I was they were all like 'eeeh there could be 2 in there'
Have not prepared myself mentally incase it is, to be honest I was hoping there is onlyone, but then iI need to think that I am lucky to actually get pregnant so 1 baby is a miracle, 2 would be a blessing xxx

Christ TRIPLETS, aaaaargh lol

StoneBaby · 16/04/2014 21:19

I use to ov. Got a DS already but this time around my body has shut down. To be fair, I still not convinced I ov while on clomid.
This cycle has neen very odd for me. No PMS cramping and as af should arrive tomorrow, I should be folded in 2 woth pain... But nothing!!! Hmm

StoneBaby · 16/04/2014 21:20

Kerry if I were you I'll be nagging calling for my 12 w scan. Good luck

StoneBaby · 16/04/2014 21:21

My FC every cycle remind me that if I'm successful there maybe more than one!!

kurama · 16/04/2014 21:58

well all the ppl u guys are seeing seem a lot more helpful and informative than the idiot im under!Angry ah well I always have you lovely ladies and google!Grin

kerrylou84 · 16/04/2014 22:14

Yeah I'm going to give it til Friday and if I havnt for my apportionment date yet then I'm going to ring hospital. I text my midwife last week and she said I should get it a week before appointment date, between 12 & 14weeks! They are now called dating scans as you don't always get them at 12weeks now, which seems a hell of a ling time to have to wait xxx

AnnieHoo · 17/04/2014 10:01

KerryLou - i'd be nagging them too, they might be under-staffed tomorrow as it's Good Friday / Easter Monday. So excited for you. I'll call next week to make first appt. Still early days here.

Stonebaby - thanks! have you tested yet or are you holding out?

Fankle - My OBGYN said he was going to up my dose to 100mg so I took the risk and upped it myself - stupid and risky i know but he was going to do it next month and I took the risk.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/04/2014 10:22

stone any up date?

I also ov naturally but very long & irregular periods.
I'm month 4 on 50mg. First 21day prog was borderline at 29.2. Next 2 months was away for work so couldn't get blood tests. Getting them done this month so if borderline may ask about increasing to 100mg, bit nervous of effect though after hearing of kuramas pain!
