I think I read somewhere that older ladies like me get it at the beginning of their cycle? Are you relatively young? Might be reason but I'd ask the dr for the reasons, no harm!

Hi, I read somewhere that day 5-9 was to do more so with egg quality rather than just triggering ovulation. Women seem to get success both ways. I fell pregnant on day 2-6 in Sept on 100mg of Clomid, unfortunately that pregnancy ended in mc in late Oct. However, I was lucky to fall pregnant again on my first cycle on clomid since the mc in December and am now 7 weeks. That time I took on days 3-6 , rather naughtily, as I'd read somewhere you have more success on those days. I thought one day would make little difference anyhow Wink

Lotty that is great news re your little bubba's heartbeat, I have fingers and toes firmly crossed for you!

I noticed that my AF was a lot lighter on clomid! Approximately two more weeks and I will be back on clomid.....nervous as I only can take two more rounds!

For those trying acupuncture, I spent more than €1,000 on it. It didn't work as in I didn't get pregnant but I did have a greater sense if overall well being from it and it did shorten my menstrual cycle considerably.....which was great as I had up to a. 124 day cycle at times!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 07/02/2014 20:58

124 days!!! I thought I was bad on 64days!

DitsyDonkey · 07/02/2014 23:23

Ginger, I know it was a killer, but since the acupuncture, fertility meds and miscarriage I am now down to pretty much a. 28 day cycle. Unfortunately I am still not ovulating on my own....but ovulate every time with clomid.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/02/2014 00:27

That's brilliant you've got your cycle under control. Really keeping my fingers crossed for you with next 2 clinic cycles.

Ladies, does anyone know what their progesterone levels were 7dpo. I'd been told they wanted between 30 and 100, mine was 29 8dpo.

kerrylou84 · 10/02/2014 14:32

Hi gingerbread.
My progesterone levels which were done on day 35 as I ovulate later in my cycle were 153. During the same cycle on day 21 they were only 1.8.

I go for my day 21 bloods on Friday but doubt I will of ovulated as the past 2months it's been around day 35+.

Fingers crossed for me this month ladies, it's my last shot on chlomid Sad

Lottystar · 10/02/2014 15:29

Good luck Kerry, try the SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan) if you've not tried it already. Quite exhausting but it's got results! Worked for me in December month and my next door neighbour last month Smile

What is that lotty?xxx

Lottystar · 11/02/2014 11:58

Google it KerryLou, lots of info online. It's a guide when to dtd when ttc. The main website is the best resource, you'll find it via google. Here is a snippet:

In order to ensure sperm and egg meet, you will “try” every other day starting on the eighth day of your cycle. The timing of this is based on how long sperm live, realistically a few days under ideal conditions. On the tenth day of your cycle you will begin daily testing with OPKs (ovulation prediction kits) and upon receiving a positive OPK you will “try” 3 more days in a row. Skip one day and give it one more try.

You then do a pregnancy test 15dpo.

How did you get on with your bloods kerry?

kerrylou84 · 12/02/2014 14:23

Hi ladies.
Thanks for the info lotty. Me and the Mr have been at it every day since I finished my period .....I'm now day 19 lol. Poor blokes worn out.

I havnt been for my bloods yet ginger, I go on Friday, then should get results on the Tuesday.

How is everyone?

It would be great if we all lived near each other so we could meet for Cuppas and talk that way xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 12/02/2014 19:50

I often think that kerrylou, but then I think we know soooo much intimate stuff about each other it'd be weird lol!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 14/02/2014 16:16

Happy valentines ladies, think there will be lots of dtd tonight!

Has anyone had light brown discharge throughout their cycle? I'm cd10 & still have this, not sure if its just lingering from AF or a clomid thing? Thanks!

Lottystar · 15/02/2014 10:20

I never had that with Clomid Ginger, you're still close to your af dates so could be that. If it continues on tho I'd mention it to your Dr.

Hope you all had a nice Valentines evening and were thoroughly spoilt! X

Thanks lotty, it's really annoying! Wish it would piss off! I had a lovely day despite work. a dozen red roses delivered to office Smile, and despite us both supposed to be doing a juice cleanse thing, choccies & dinner Grin. Oh and non ttc sex which was lovely.

What did everyone else get up to?

AnnieHoo · 16/02/2014 19:09

Hello! Can I join? I'm looking for a clomid thread and I've just read the whole thread from the start - your experiences have been such a helpful insight into the Clomid journey and the ups and downs ahead...

My journey so far:

I'm 40, met my dh in 2012 and have been ttc for 20 months
Ovulate on my own some months but not regularly
On round #2 of Clomid Day 18
BFP in Nov 2012 but miscarried at 9 weeks

The Clomid is giving me hot flushes at night and it's uncomfortable in ovary area near OV but I'm happy with those symptoms if it means my ovaries are doing some work. Went for 21 and 28 day blood test and GP said it 'looks like the Clomid is working'. That's all I know.

I have 1 more round of Clomid left after this. OBGYN said 'if it doesn't work go back to your GP and ask for more'..

It's given me a huge lift to get these pills, really hoping they'll do the job for us all!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/02/2014 22:33

Hi annie I'm also on second clomid cycle, day 14, no building pressure in ovaries this month so a tad worried its not working this month.

kerrylou84 · 18/02/2014 08:05

Hi Annie, welcome to the thread.
I completely sympathise with you about the hot flushes.....I was I'll will them day and night! They would just come over all of a sudden and I would either have to strip right off or go and stand at the door lol.

I'm day 25 today, going to ring up and find out the results from my blood test. Don't think I will have ovulated as it tends to be around the day 35 mark.xxx

AnnieHoo · 18/02/2014 10:32

Hi ladies
Thank you for welcoming me! Sweats attack last night on CD20! I woke up v hot and bothered so took temp and it had shot up, still high in morning but I don't trust my temping skills at all. I'm waiting for a temp rise so was pleased with that but I find if I take to again a minute later it can go up or down to suit whatever I want!!! My GP told me to get 21 and 28 day blood tests the first round to check Clomid was working but not after that. I think thats all they offer. Last time I could really feel the Clomid working like my left ovary was bursting out of me and it was uncomfortable to sit down around ov. This 2nd round the pain was v mild not as obvious so I am also a bit worried it's not going to work. Will keep DTD every other day until CD23 to cover it but it's just exhausting!! Shock

kerrylou84 · 18/02/2014 18:53

I was the same Annie, the first and u think maybe second time on chlomid I felt pain from ovulating, but then the next 2months I didn't feel anything as it didn't work. Last month I didn't feel pain but I felt so strange down below, like all my insides had dropped, was so so strange. I also kept getting horrible pains in my back near shoulder blades. Felt like I had a million knots in my muscles and there was shooting pains too. When I worked out the dates I was getting those pains around the time I ovulated.
I think our ovaries go into shock, especially if you havnt ovulated naturally (which I Havnt.)
Try not to worry too much, you may have ovulated or you may be having a long cycle, I know it does happen as my longest cycle was 73 days!

Oh... I rang the doctors for my results and the receptionist just turned around and said they weren't back and to give a week before dingo g back. I told her that I usually get them 3 days after the test and she said there are new rules in place where the doctors can pass on information to the receptionist!! I DO NOT want my business being told to them stuck up receptionists.........half of them live in my area and I don't want them knowing my business
Xxx

Lottystar · 18/02/2014 19:58

Hi ladies and welcome too Annie. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you all this cycle - whatever one it is! I never had the hot flushes with Clomid but I was pretty emotional and evil to live with. Everyone I ovulated on a Clomid I felt like my ovaries were about to explode, last time it was the right side and low and behold when I went for my early reassurance scan the sonographer said my right ovary had 'done the trick' this time as she could still see where the follicle popped. I had my booking in appointment with the midwife on Monday. Starting to feel more real but still 3 weeks to go until 12 weeks. So scared of a mmc at 12 week scan after the mc last time Hmm
