The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

What day did you ovulate? Implantation happens between 6-12 days after conception. I never get implantation bleeding but a lot of women do. Don't give up hope yet, I know it's shit and hard but clomid stays in your system for while after you've taken it so you still have a chance. I think they should have upped your dosage, maybe ask for your last shot? You want to make sure you ovulate for your final go.

Are there not other drugs they try if clomid unsuccessful. My dr says she'll give me 6mths on clomid before trying something else but don't know what it is.

kerrylou84 · 26/01/2014 00:11

Hi girls. My doctor gave me at first 2months of chlomid, which worked for ovulation but not pregnancy, then he gave me 4 more months worth, which only 1 month so far (have one round left) has worked. He has told me after this I would be referred to the international center for life, so they can investigate further, but whatever treatment is needed will have to be paid for.

I am pretty sure this is a period starting now as it is getting brighter in colour and I am still having crampy feelings.

Xxx

kerrylou84 · 26/01/2014 09:24

Definitely a period :-(

Gingerbreadlady1 · 26/01/2014 10:10

Sorry kerrylou, know how gutted you're feeling now :-( The whole thing sucks. I understand why you don't qualify for ivf (which generally has a waiting time of 2 years anyway) but unsure why you've to pay for any treatment, Id query that? There's other medications they can try, the name of the next one they'll use for me is letrozole, if clomid doesn't work for me. Worth asking about? So sorry hon.

j200 · 26/01/2014 14:44

Sorry to hear that Kerrylou, was really hopeful for you. I have my appt on Tuesday in which I think we are going to discuss the other options so will let you know. I think she said gonal f injections would be my next option... xx

DitsyDonkey · 26/01/2014 15:15

Can I rejoin? Some of you may remember me.......Lotty especially, are you pregnant again Lotty....if so was it clomid again and how soon after your miscarriage?

I will just recap my background for you all.

One ds
I have pcos
Ttc for three years
Don't ovulate on my own at all
Three rounds if clomid resulted in two chemical pregnancies
Three rounds of femara which I dint ovulate on
One round of clomid bfp but miscarried at 9 weeks

I have since been taking a break fom ttc. I just finished my AF today so I will have to wait until next month to take clomid again. I only have two rounds of clomid left and hats all I can ever take.

So tomorrow I will start back on metformin, baby aspirin and folic acid. Hopefully then in four weeks time I will be back on the ttc game!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 26/01/2014 22:01

Hi ditsy, I'm a new comer to this to. Nice to have folk to chat to about it!

Lottystar · 26/01/2014 23:17

Sorry to hear that KerryLou. Try not to lose hope and do ask your GP about alternatives. Have you also considered acupuncture or reflexology?

Ditsy, good to see you here again. How are you doing? I am 6 weeks pregnant now, conceived again with clomid, although also on Metformin and doing acupuncture. Really, really terrified but this pregnancy does feel different to the last so really hoping the little button is healthy and okay.

Hi, welcome back ditsy

Hi lotty, I'm actually booked in for reflexology tomorrow afternoon, not exactly sure how it works, all I know is they can pick up health problems.
I have had my second chlomid tablet today and already I am suffering with hot flushes! Xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/01/2014 09:36

These hot flushes sound awful! I've not had anything like that thanfully. Worse symptom I've had is really uncomfortable abdomen, must be my ovaries going into shock!

Lottystar · 27/01/2014 10:05

I don't envy you both, I was crazy, hormonal woman on clomid. My poor dh Wink At least the symptoms seem to wear off a week or so after the last pill x

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/01/2014 10:16

As soon as I ov I had some relief, felt like I was gonna burst so will be interesting to see what the hormone blood tests say. I'm usually fairly unaffected by hormones, no pmt etc, but really emotional the day of & since ov. This was the same as the month I had a chem preg so maybe clomid is helping & hormones behaving like they should. God! You start to see signs everywhere! I'm turning into a crazy lady lol! How you feeling lotty?

kerrylou84 · 27/01/2014 10:29

My first 2months on chlomid I was like a woman possessed! Emotional, bad tempered, and just so so irrational! Lol. It's a good job I've got a good man, he's my rock! Yesterday I felt so weak and tired and had really bad cramps that I stayed on the sofa all day, and Graham did everything........I felt so bad but he wanted to look after me. He ran me a lush hot bath with candles! Could not ask for a better man xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/01/2014 10:43

Sounds like you've got a good un there. You deserved a bit of pampering. From what I've read, I think I've got away lightly on clomid for symptoms. Hopefully the discomfort was due to a nice healthy egg, fingers crossed. Gonna be so deflated with yet another bfn ??

kerrylou84 · 27/01/2014 14:31

The cramps were because of my period. I've never had a regular cycle, even being on chlomid I'm so irregular, but when they do come it just knocks me for six! The pain is terrible, always worse on the second day, and really sorry for this.... ..but there are so many clots!

Hoping this month will be mine. This is my last go on chlomid, then it's ivf. Think I will give myself a month or 2 break, see if I ovulate on ny own before going ahead with ivf.
Hoping the reflexology works too!xxx

kerrylou84 · 27/01/2014 14:31

Where you from gingerbread?xxx

Lottystar · 27/01/2014 14:40

I'm pleased your getting lots of support from your chap KerryLou, it helps!

I'm okay thanks Ginger, just a bit of nausea today and twinging on my left side, which has me a bit worried. Everything after a mc just makes you worry! I am wishing the weeks away to hit the magic 12. 6 more to go.

Sounds like you are getting off lightly with the symptoms Ginger, I was so angry and uptight it was scary. I also felt the egg release last time, it really hurt! It makes your ovaries feel swollen in my experience. I hope it works for you xx

OP posts:
kerrylou84 · 27/01/2014 16:17

I was the same lotty, plus the stress of it all made it 10 times worse

I'm sure the next 6weeks will fly by for you, then you can put your mind at ease and start enjoying your pregnancy xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/01/2014 17:10

kerrylou, I'm from scotch-land so barren & cold lol! Sorry, you've prob already said on an earlier message, do you have pcos or endometriosis? Your af sounds awful, the joys of being a women eh?

lotty, it must be nerve wracking, half way to the magic 12 however. Maybe all your bad luck is over with & it'll be plain sailing now.

kerrylou84 · 27/01/2014 17:40

I have neither, just unexplained infertility.........as far as I know anyway. Blood tests and scans have come back clear for pcos xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/01/2014 17:43

Just a matter of time then hopefully, pma & all that x

j200 · 27/01/2014 21:34

Kerrylou- let me know how reflexology goes, I might try that too!

Lotty- have everything crossed this is the sticky bean :)

My appointment is nearly here-tomorrow at 4pm, can't wait to find out and get started on my next stage as I'm sure my blood test will show I didn't ovulate again. Lets hope Feb is our BFP month :)

Really hoping I move to something other than clomid as it has just made me fat and emotional and not pregnant!! xx

kerrylou84 · 28/01/2014 14:54

So I went for my reflexology appointment only to be stood outside waiting for 15 minutes, then when the door is unlocked the lass immediately presumes I'm after a sunbed, so I tel ll her I'm booked in with her mam and she looks at me like shit and says that there is nothing in the book and her mam has gone home cos there has been a leak. So she rings her mam and then comes back to tell me that she can do me later at 4.30!! So I storm out

Am I just not destined to get any help or insight as to what the hell is wrong with me!!!
Been looking forward to this all week, now I am sooooooo pissed off. Shes just messaged me saying she will give me a discount if I re-book.......but I'm not!

Happy Friggin days

Lottystar · 28/01/2014 17:20

Sorry to hear that KerryLou, I'd opt for a more professional practitioner. Have a good research online in your area first. Acupuncture is very effective I think - although I've heard good things about reflexology too.

I hope your appointment went well J200?

I've had nausea all day!! Not complaining but I just want to curl up in my bed x
