The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

Hey KerryLou, I'm going to be 30 this year too! Do you not qualify for funded IVF from the NHS then? If just not ovulating is your issue then they may try injections or IUI before IVF. Lets hope 2014 is our year, I really want to be a mum more than anything :) xx

kerrylou84 · 10/01/2014 08:01

Hi j200. Unfortunately we don't qualify for free ivf becasur my partner already has children.........which is so unfair!
My partners cousin has been going through the same thing, she already has a child but been trying for over a year for another. She's been having regular scabs to checkbfor eggs being produced and even had the sperm inserted (not sure what it is called) and now she is pregnant with twins! Still very early days though.
My doctor told me it wouldn't make a difference by doing it that way, so I've just been basically told to get on with it.
How long have you been trying?x

kerrylou84 · 22/01/2014 17:44

Hi ladies, how is everyone? Just had my results back for my day 21 (but was actually day 35) and my levels are 159!!! I nearly died with a heart attack, just last week they were only 1.8 so hoping this is my month. When will be the best time to take a text?cc

j200 · 22/01/2014 19:43

ah congratulations Kerrylou that is sooooo exciting! You can take a test the day your period is due so maybe day 28/9/30. Let us know how you get on x

kerrylou84 · 23/01/2014 11:43

Hey ladies. For some reason I posted here yesterday but it's not showing up.
Anyway, I got my results back from day 21 bloods (actually day 35 as cycle is horrendous!) And my levels were 159!! Couldn't believe it as the past 3months they have only been 1.8.
I went to doctors for a pregnancy test but it was negative, but thinking it could be early days still xxx

Lottystar · 23/01/2014 15:45

Hey ladies, I haven't been on this thread for ages. Pleased to see you're doing okay KerryLou, that progesterone level sounds promising!

I've got good news, I'm 6 weeks pregnant again. Really frightened this time around due to mc in Oct but keep your fingers crossed for me pls. Booking an early reassurance scan in about two weeks time Smile

Hi ladies, can I join in? I've never, ever used an Internet chat room before so learning the rules as I go lol! Firstly, lottystar, we've never met but huge congratulations, lovely that this journey ends well for some! As for me, been ttc for over a year now. I'm an old bird at 38 so freaking out that I've missed my chance! On my first clomid cycle, opk test indicates that I'm ovulating today (yippee!!) oh and pcos too. Just looking for moral support from people going through the same thing xx

j200 · 23/01/2014 21:18

oh congratulations Lotty, thats amazing :) so pleased for you!!

Welcome GB, this is def a great place for moral support and advice, I have met so many lovely ladies!

As for me I have my day 21 blood test tomorrow, results Tues, I'm not very hopeful as I dont think its been working for me as no positive opk. All it has done is skyrocket my oestrogen and made me put on 5 pounds in two cycles!!!

Lottystar · 23/01/2014 21:20

Thank you Gingerbreadlady, that's sweet of you Smile I'm 35 so not far behind you so don't give up hope on that score. Have you been started on 50mg? The best if luck to you, I have fallen pregnant with clomid twice, alas the first pregnancy ended in mc but hoping this little bean is okay. I also have PCOS, it was so bad I didn't ovulate at all. Ask your GP about metformin too - it regulates your blood sugars, which effects your hormones. Metformin and clomid can work well together x

Thanks j200 & lotty, I'm so glad to chat to people who are going through the same thing. Think I'm driving my partner nuts lol! Fingers crossed for you j200, you never know, I've heard the opk's aren't reliable all the time or you may just have missed the surge.

Lotty, comforting that you are close in age to me, really pleased for you, you've really earned a happy ending. I've been started on 50mg. Always ovulated on my own but cycles were 30 to 50 days so I get more chances on clomid. Thanks for metformin tip, will give clomid 6 months then ask to switch I think. X

kerrylou84 · 24/01/2014 17:25

Ooh many congratulations Lotty!

I took a test this afternoon but it was negative, could it still maybe be early days?
Technically, I think I should of started my period today.
Just wish my cycle was normal, 73 days it was last month! Xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/01/2014 19:18

Good luck kerrylou, what test did you use as some are more sensitive than others? X

kerrylou84 · 24/01/2014 19:46

I just used a cheap boots test. I'm going to hang on until next week then try another, as I know it's still very early days to tell. I am used to all negative tests so thinking the next will be the same..... I have never ever had a positive test, but something about the progesterone levels being that high makes me think differently xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/01/2014 19:57

Well it is a very good sign but I think it's very wise to wait a bit (you have way more self control than me!!). I had a very odd cycle 2 months ago, on the advice of my doctor I did a test (3 in fact) but it should have been to early to be positive. To my massive surprise they were very weak but positive, then they weren't. It was a chemical preg or early m/c, whichever you want to call it. Very tough to deal with, if I hadn't tested so early I wouldn't have known anything had happened. Ill never test so early again. Really hope you get that second line, such high numbers indicate something unusual anyhow! Baby dust xxxx

kerrylou84 · 24/01/2014 21:25

Thankyou ginger xx
What is a chemical pregnancy? I've only ever read it on here, not sure exactly what it is.

I had no self control regarding tests until the past couple of months.......only because I didn't ovulate at all, I kind of hit rock bottom and thought about giving up on the whole thing, but 1 night I had this very clear dream of a beautiful baby boy (ive had this dream before) and I woke up with 'baby' on my mind. I started healthy eating again (had lost 1stone before being given chlomid.........put 6lb back on over 6months!) Anyhow, I've lost 5lb again so going to really stick to it then hopefully I will ovulate on my own, if not pregnant this month.

Xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/01/2014 21:57

Wow! Keep up the good work. That's fantastic weight loss, esp with all the stress. My understanding of a chem preg is that the egg gets fertilised but doesn't successfully implant, but I'm no expert. Most people wont know they've happened. If you do finish up on clomid with no success I can suggest some herbal remedies. I had no periods until I started on them so they seemed to help me (hopefully you won't need them).

X

squirral · 24/01/2014 22:02

Hi everyone,
After 3yrs of ttc and a lap and dye that found nothing I am hoping that some blood tests will show I'm not ovulating and I can go on clomid. Bloods being taken next week so keeping my fingers crossed. Will be watching this thread with interest and hopefully joining you soon. Struggling to conceive is a lonely business.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/01/2014 22:58

Hi squirral, I just joined last night so can relate. Pleased to have found people going through similar experiences.

kerrylou84 · 25/01/2014 12:47

Been feeling a few crampy pains the past day or so, and I'm sure there was a little bit of blood just before...... Please no! :-(

Gingerbreadlady1 · 25/01/2014 13:33

Could be implantation? X

Lottystar · 25/01/2014 14:00

I hope it's implantation spotting KerryLou, what cycle day are you on? They say it happens just before you would expect your period.

Good luck to you all ladies, it's such a tough process to go through xx

kerrylou84 · 25/01/2014 15:45

Hi girls. I'm on day 47 today......I had blood test on day 39, so the dates are working out right, I should be due a period round about now.
This is never going to happen, I bloody give up!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 25/01/2014 16:00

You don't know yet hon, all might be well. I can so relate to how you feel, it's so soul destroying. My friend who is 39 gave up after ttc for over a year and finally being told she'd never conceive naturally. She found out she was pregnant 2 wks later & is due in 6wks. It's a long journey for many but many get there in the end. Try to stay positive, our attitudes are the only thing we can control xxx

kerrylou84 · 25/01/2014 16:14

We have been trying for almost 2 years. I was given my first lot of chlomid in July......I've had 5 rounds and only one left. This is only the 3rd time ovulating while taking chlomid, the last 2months just didn't work. I've just been left to it, only monitoring I get is when I go for my day 21 bloods.

Has anyone experienced plantation spotting? If so what is it like, does it look like the start of a period etc? I've just started feeling sick too, probably just stress.

Lotty did you experience plantation spotting?
