There will be a directive from the ground commander, but ultimately if an individual officer decides to shoot him, they will have to justify that decision. It would not be terribly difficult in view of his recent behaviour and publicised threats, but the best outcome for the police would be for him to surrender his weapon. So as long as he is listening to negotiators they will afford him that last chance.

10 mile exclusion? Sky are still talking to -random publicity hungry locals witnesses just round the corner as far as I can see.

Ponders police shoot and aim at the chest it is the largest body mass so the easiest to aim at and not miss [the police marks men however highly trained are not snipers] it also means they do not get shot themselves [you don't need legs to use a gun is the theory]

Can't believe that this is all happening so close to the town centre!

My mum's friend went into the town to collect a takeaway and couldn't get back to her house, police wouldn't let her cross their line and made her go into one of the old people's cottages. She is now sharing her takeaway with a pensioner!

Ooo I know that but at this minute in time, he's not going to know whether media is there or not and them getting moved, will he know they've been moved, how is moving them going to change how he feels.
