Dp is a paramedic and has been involved in something not so dramatic many years ago so the info is from him.
He thinks it is good to move the media, it might clear the locals indoors/away from the police cordon

Ohhh, sorry juney, I thought he was in somebody's house - have just had a quick look on BBC24 & see he's on the riverbank with a gun under his chin.

(He might have a blackberry though....)

juneybean · 09/07/2010 21:31

imagine, sawn off shot gun in one hand, blackberry in the other

Ponders · 09/07/2010 21:31

but anyway BBC are talking to someone who can see him from their house so moving the media back won't stop them broadcasting what he can see

Ponders · 09/07/2010 21:32

well I know I would

thisisyesterday · 09/07/2010 21:32

ahh i better switch to bbc news site then! lol

EightiesChick · 09/07/2010 21:32

He's probably writing another 49 page missive about his current feelings towards the police, his ex partner etc. It'll take hours to send that out via Twitter.

juneybean · 09/07/2010 21:34

He'll have to use twitlonger :/

LaDiDaDi · 09/07/2010 21:34

this google map shows just how close to the centre of town he is

Mollycat1 · 09/07/2010 21:34

Why are the media hampering the police efforts, only just tuned in and its not like they are standing next to him or anything, i dont get it, surely he doesnt have a tv on the riverbank!!!

Is it just so they can shoot him without witnesses??

juneybean · 09/07/2010 21:36

Is Rothbury really considered to be in Morpeth, when Morpeth is 14 miles away

juneybean · 09/07/2010 21:37

Sky news are still on the main street

tbh a lot of the sky news pics looked liek they had come from someone up a tree!

i think if the police are worried about where the reporters are then it would hamper them. some of them have been pretty keen to get as close as possible from what i can see

LaDiDaDi · 09/07/2010 21:40

Tbh I think that he will be able to hear the whole circus that is going on on the main street, obv. not what people are saying but I'm sure that he will be aware of the whole hullabaloo.

Buzzybb · 09/07/2010 21:41

They had to shift them off the road a couple of times, he may have a radio or a ph and is in contact with some one who is telling him what the media are saying

juneybean · 09/07/2010 21:41

His best mate is being brought into cordoned area...

Ponders · 09/07/2010 21:42

I thought that too, herbie - eyewitness on BBC said very calmly "yes, he had the gun under his chin, he was lying down but he sat up a few minutes ago" & they kind of missed a beat & said "you can actually see him?" sounding stunned because he was so calm!

(I would be screaming & running round the room falling over things)

poppy34 · 09/07/2010 21:49
